Emma wished that she could somehow escape the Enterprise without anyone knowing as she walked towards the meeting room. She had a decision to make. A life altering decision that could either hurt or help her. She knew Chris wouldn't force her to do anything she was uncomfortable with. It was still something she would have decide to do on her own. She didn't have to tell Fleet Admiral Whitley who she was. She could just spend time with her. Get to know her, and see how things played out.

It did nothing to ease her nerves. In fact, she had never been that nervous before. She would rather have her first kiss with Chris a thousand times than walk to the meeting room. She could see Chris standing outside the double doors. He was wearing his green shirt that she loved. His hands were behind his back and he was walking slowly back and forth. She felt herself relax slightly at the sight of him. He would say the right thing to help her.

When Chris laid eyes on Emma, he knew something was wrong. Her eyes were wide. Her face was deathly pale. He could see her chewing on her bottom lip. He walked closer to her, meeting her half way. "You alright, Em? You look like you're going to be sick."

"Yes. No. I don't...know..." she mumbled.

"Hey," He whispered and reached out to cup her face. "What's wrong? You can tell me anything, honey. You know that."

She took a deep breath in and breathed a shaky one out. She looked up at Chris and could see genuine concern in his eyes. "The Admiral...Grace Whitley, she's my biological mother."

Chris' face bore many emotions in the span of seconds when he heard the revelation. He shook his head in confusion. "How? When?"

"My dad videoed me when I was in my quarters. He asked me for her name to see if he knew her and he clearly did. They're known this entire time, but they were waiting to tell me." She explained.

"Does she know who you are?" Chris asked.

Emma shook her head. "No. She didn't name me or anything. As far as they know, she's never even seen me."

"Wow." He said baffled. "You okay?"

"I'm...okay." She confirmed. "I just don't know what to do."

"Well, the decision is yours, Emma. I understand either way."

She groaned softly and rested her head against his chest. It was a risky move to do in public, but she didn't care. She just needed to be close to him. She felt Chris wrap his arms around her and he kissed the top of her head. "I'm going to be there for you. I promise."

"I know." She lifted her head to look up at him. "I think I need to do this. I need to understand why she gave me up and who she was. Whether I like it or not, she is a part of me."

"Okay. I will walk in there with you. If at any point you want to back out, just let me know. Okay?"

"Okay."

She wished she could hold his hand as they walked towards the door, but the last thing she needed to do was meet her biological mother while holding hands with her Captain. Her throat felt dry the closer they got. She could do this, she repeated to herself over and over. More than likely she would have no idea who Emma was. Unless they looked like one another. The two of them stopped at the doors and waited for them to slide open. When they did open, she found Una talking to Admiral Whitley.

Emma didn't know what she had been expecting her biological mother to look like. She always imagined a carbon copy of her. Her hair was lighter in color, more of a dirty blonde with streaks of gray starting to appear. Her eyes appeared to be the same shade as her. That was where the familiarities stopped. She supposed she looked more like her biological father. She looked kind though, despite what Emma knew she had done. She didn't think of her as a bad person, but she was still confused.
