Chapter 9: Pool Party

Your first week on the job felt like whirlwind. There was so much work to be done, and tons of things to do only in the short hours of the day.. You found yourself doing what work you could at home.. You and Brain have went to lunch again on Wednesday, it was quick but fun. If you are honest, you really are starting to like him more than a friend..

You walk in your house and kick off your shoes and head towards the bathroom. You remove your makeup and take down your hair.. You hear the vibration of your phone and you look down and it's your calendar reminding you of the party at Brian's.

Then you get a text from Brian...

Brian~ 'Hey! You still coming tonight? I'm almost home and you can come over early if you would like?'

~ Hey! I have a few things to do, but I will be over as soon as I can! Let me know when you get home. ☺️

Brian~ 'Can't wait! See ya soon.. 😌'

You dig through some cabinets to find you pool towel, and then you you grab some slides.. Once your bathing suit is on you put on some leggings and a hoodie. You start working on some work you brought home while you wait on Brian to text.

About 15 minutes pass by and you get the notification

Brian~ 'Hey! Come over whenever you are ready! I cooked some burgers so there is food!'

You grab your bag and head out!

Once at his door you knock and it flings wide!

'Hey (Y/N)! Come on in! we are all eating.. ' He introduces you to everyone 'This is Michael and his friend..Uh... Oh dude I'm sorry I forgot your name..' Brain says face palming..

"Oh it's ok! I am Reggie" He says as you shake his hand. We all head outside to Brians porch, where he has heaters and his pool is lit up. You didn't see it the last time you were out here but he had all the lights off. You notice tons of feeders around.. Brian brings you over a lemonade and a burger..

So do you like feeding birds?

'Birds, squirrels, anything thats hungry and is a furry creature.'

My neighbor is a nerd and a bird watcher, man how did I get so lucky.. you say with a chuckle..

He laughs and rolls his eyes.. You two eat and out of the corner of your eye you see some guys setting up the beer pong table. When you hear a loud familiar voice.

'JOEY! Glad you could come!' Brian says as he gets up and they both give each other a huge hug.

"Hey (Y/N)! How are you?" He says bending down and hugging you.. I'm good!

'Ok, I'm gonna finish eating and then we can play some pong!' Brian says taking his seat by you again.

"Let me get some food in my system! You ready to go down you fucker.."

'I'm ready to show you whos BOSS!'

You giggle as you get close to finishing your food..

'You going to swim?'

Yeah! I think the last time I went swimming I was in Florida

'Ah I love florida! I have a vacation home out there.'

You love how much you two have in common, and he looks really handsome under this light...

'I'll probably come dip my feet in after a few rounds of pong...' He says as he stands..
