Restless

I stared at my laptop as a movie played. I wasn't really watching. I stretch my back and arms looking over at Jake seeing him doing what hackers do. I stood up stretching the rest of my body and began pacing.
" Are you feeling restless?" I look over at Jake
" That obvious?" Jake stands up walking over to me
" A little" I nod
" Sorry I must be annoying you" I sigh
" It's understandable Sam" his voice soft
" I think I'm used to running all the time now, that I've forgotten how to relax" I admitted
" Sam, enjoy the rest while you can" he reaches out then stops
" I have an idea get your jacket"

I looked around the abandoned warehouse

"Ok either I'm about to become a part of a horror movie or.." I hear Jake chuckle as he walked passed me
" Not a horror movie Sam" he stops and I can see a sparkle in his eye but he just shakes his head
" I'm going to teach you have to evade anyone chasing you" I look at Jake
" Jake I know how to run" he chuckled
" Well I'm glad to hear that" and I can hear his sarcasm I narrow my eyes and I can feel he's grinning under his hood
" I'm also going to show you how to use your environment to help you escape". I tilt my head
" Jake, are you saying you know parkour?" He stops looking around the glances down at me
" Most hackers do" I can't help smiling .
" Alright but just so you know I just got good at jumping fences".

I sat on the ground panting slightly as Jake looked down at me. We had been practising for hours with Jake instructing me when to jump or roll and all I accomplished was scrapping up my palm.

"At this rate I'll be dead weight" I admit looking down at my hand
" That isn't true Sam" Jake say's standing in front of me
'' Not once was I able to escape you" I frown
"If this was the real thing I'd have been in custody and..."I stop feeling defeated Jake holds out his hand and I take it as he pulls me up
" Sam I have been running far longer then you have" I look up at Jake his look tender I feel my anger leave a reach out touching his jacket
" I know, it's just.." I stop clenching my fist on his chest
" I don't want you getting caught because of my mistakes"
He leans down tipping my chin up
"You aren't giving yourself enough credit" I nod amazed that even with the mask that now covered up to his nose he still made my heart race.
" Thank you for this" I smile up at him and his eyes become gentle
" You are very welcome" he releases my chin
" We better get back".

As we walked together we fell silent. And I can see Jake's tense. I reach out linking my arm with his as Jake looks down
" You looked very serious just now" Jake arches his brow
" I always look serious Sam" I lightly laugh and I can tell he's smiling I gently bump into him
" Not all the time"  he looks down at me
" I've seen you smile at least five times" Jake looks at me surprised then looks away. I go to bump into him again but he moves and I trip on my own feet falling to this side hearing Jake swear under his breath as he quickly grabs me pulling me against him.
