We packed our stuff quickly. Then Jake made sure that there would be no evidence of us left behind. He walks out of the bathroom and I can see he's tense
" You okay?" He nods
" We better get going" I quickly grab my bag while throwing my hoodie and jacket on. Seeing Jake do the same as we head out. Looking around we head to the car and get in as Jake pulls out I notice he's wearing gloves
" Once the car runs out of gas we will be on foot" he explains I nod
" I'm guessing the gloves are so you don't leave fingerprints behind" I look back up
" Exactly" he smiles
I look over at Jake rubbing my eyes seeing the dark circles under his eyes
" Jake, do you want me to take over?" I hear Jake chuckle
" Can you drive?"
I look away
" Kinda" Jake glances over at me
"Can you?" I shake my head. Jake suddenly pulls over.
" Come here"
I go wide eyed as my face and chest became red
" W..why?" My voice a little higher than I wanted and even with Jake's mask I can see he's blushing
" We are nearly out of gas"
I nod
" I thought I'd show you how to drive..." I noticed how awkward I had just made it as Jake looked out his window . I undo my seatbelt and crawl over he stiffens and I can't help but grin as Jake takes a shaky breath. I gently moved his hands up watching so I didn't hurt him as I finished crawling over. I take a seat in his lap placing my hands on the steering wheel
" Now what?" He swallows then takes a slow breath
" Now place your foot on the gas pedal and brake pedal" I do what Jake says
"Good now press down the brake pedal and switch the gear to drive" I nod feeling Jake wrap his arm around me. I listen to his instructions, watching as Jake showed me. Watching me to make sure I understood.
" So now that you've explained everything, do you want me to drive?" Jake arches his brow pulling me back
" No" I laugh feeling Jake wrap his arms over mine holding me. I look down feeling how right it felt being held like this by Jake... how natural we felt together. I sigh remembering the boundaries set and it seemed Jake did as well as he slowly released me. I open Jake's door and get out walking back over to the passengers side. I watched as Jake pushed my door open and I got in. As Jake started the car we fell silent. I looked out my window feeling the imaginary wall that was now between us. Seeing Jake looking over at me through the glass. He looked away and began to drive just as it began to rain.
