The next morning was about the same as four days before. All I did was stay in May's room while he made sure I didn't try to leave. He was on a routine with me and that was a problem for me. The same thing happening every day was so frustrating.
The first thing that would happen is that I am woken up to take my meds. Thing is that I don't have to take them anymore since I'm better now. But he still wakes me up early!
After getting up I then go to the shower to get clean for the day. Putting on clean clothes after my shower I am put back to bed with breakfast on my lap.
I tried to get up out of bed after breakfast but May looked at me with a pleading look. Saying no to that face was very hard. Instead of defying him, I sat back on the bed.
It is not like I stayed in bed all day. There are times when he would let me sit at the window or on the couch. But even then I wanted to get back to training.
After thinking back on these past few days. I think that maybe it was best I was resting. But now I feel like I should be ok to go back. My injuries from the office fight are healed now.
I decided to talk to May about the matter once lunchtime comes around. Well that is what I originally wanted to do was talk, once lunch rolled away it got more heated.
"What do you mean I can't go back yet?" I was now talking to May about me going back. He was being stubborn about me not doing this job anymore.
"You got yourself hurt again because of me. What if someone else had hurt you at your deliveries? I do not want to have to hear the news of you getting badly hurt. Not again." May was now giving me his whole ted talk.
"I grew up doing this job. I know what I am doing. The office fight was because I was not taking care of myself before. I am well now and can take care of myself. You will not stop me from doing my job." I said as I was on the brink of snapping.
He of course was too stubborn, "You will not be leaving this room till the day you die. I will not let you or Haru get hurt ever. Value your life more please."
I stepped forward, "I value my life and my job very much. You think I go out there because I don't care about my life? Then your wrong because I am not some suicidal killer."
His face dropped at my words but I had enough already. "I can't believe I thought you would listen and talk about this maturely. When you are ready to talk to me again you know where to find me."
He tried to stop me from leaving his room but I had enough. I walked out like that day I saw him with Chloe. It seems I am always running back to the office from him.
It has been a week since I left his room. I got stronger again and of course, more scars came with it. Haru has been learning a lot lately. He is a fast learner. Today he was teaching me French. He was learning from Chloe.
She never left since that night and I promised I would keep her safe. She insisted on staying with me. And I didn't see anything wrong with it.
Right now I was on the verge of finding out some intel on her friend's whereabouts. I got word that her friend's name was Sophie and that she was not dead.
I haven't told Chloe yet until I knew it was true. She was in love with the girl. I didn't want to bring her false news or false hope.
As for May, I haven't seen him for a while. He never came after me since that day. And honestly I am glad since I needed to cool off. Roxy gives me daily reports on his whereabouts and health. Apparently, his father has started training him so in a few years he could take over.
Today I had a couple of deliveries to one company I am familiar with and one I am not. One of them was with Gavriil's Business. He is from the Black Spades. I have visited quite frequently since I liked to chat with his sister.
I sat on my bed and started to put on my boots. My outfit for deliveries was always the same tights and hoodie with a baseball cap and boots.
It was comfortable to run in and sometimes the occasional fight. For some reason though lately my boots have been starting to get a bit tattered faster. I might have to buy some new ones soon.
After getting my boots on I walked to the library in the main house. That was where Roxy and Chloe taught Haru his lessons. It was the quietest place and safest. Plus all the reading material they need is there.
I walked in to see them all at the bean bags reading. Haru half on his bean bag and half off. I giggled to myself and they all looked up. Haru smiled and jumped up running to me.
I caught him lifting him in the air and twirling around. He was giggling the whole time with the biggest smile on his face. I set him down and he ran off back to his book.
I asked Roxy, "I see you are studying hard by the looks of it. How is he doing with his work?" Roxy smiled as she got up hugging me.
"He is the smartest kid I know for being 5 almost 6. The way he learns is so interesting. He learned almost a whole language this week." I nodded and looked at Haru as he was reading his small book. He is my pride and joy.
The book was a children's story in french. You should know that he is very smart for his age. Usually kids his age are still learning the alphabet, maybe not even that. But he knows how to read in three different languages. It seems I am always bragging about him.
"Ok well, I have to go now. I have two deliveries today and one is pretty far out. I won't be back until tonight for dinner. So I need Haru to listen to Roxy and Chloe okay?"
He stood and hugged me before sitting back down. I decided to leave now and try to get back sooner. Going to the front of the gates the men I usually see hand me the duffel bag of goods to carry. I walked out the gates as they closed it behind me. The first thing is to get to the trains.
