What's The Worst Thing I Can Say?

I woke up and stared at the ceiling. I felt cold, so I sat up and looked around. I had fallen asleep on top of the bed, without my jacket and left the window open. "Great," I walked over and pulled it down. I looked out the window and saw the sunrise peaking over the horizon. I sighed, today was the day. "Great," I mumbled again.

I heard a knock on my door and grabbed my stuff and walked over and opened it. I saw Party staring back at me, he had rings under his eyes and his red hair was disheveled. "Ready?" I nodded. We walked out quietly, we passed Kobra's room and I slowed down. "I'm sorry," Party mumbled. "It's-It's fine." We continued out and got in the car.

We sped down the road in silence. I looked out the windows at the desert and watched the hills and small buildings pass by quickly. I felt the car begin to slow down, and then we jerked to a stop. I almost smacked my head on the dashboard and looked over at Party confused. His eyes were big and full of fear. "L-look," He pointed out the front window. I couldn't see much, but then I saw it. Well, her. She was crumpled up on the ground, a pool of blood surrounding her. A bike was crumpled up in the background, but I didn't care about how the accident happened. "Is-is that-" "Bomber," He finished my sentence. Oh no.

Party jumped out of the car and ran over to the crumpled form. I followed slowly behind. "Oh Bomber, oh no, please, no," I heard him mumble. I saw Bomber's face, it was distorted and looked painful. I saw her chest was caved in, her blood had dried around her and her skin was pale and cold. "P-Party," I felt uneasy about this situation. Party ignored me and continued to panic about what he saw. I looked around me cautiously and the skies began to get dark. "Party!" I shouted. His head snapped up and he knew exactly what I knew what was happening. I saw it in front of me, two cars of dracs speeding toward us.

We shot at them, taking out their tires and causing one car to swerve out of control and flip. "Watch my back!" He shouted and ran toward the cars. Dracs were storming out of the cars and reaching for their guns. Party and I shot quickly, killing dracs with one shot each.

Once they were all dead I felt the fear set into my stomach. I would have to deal with those by myself from now on. Party hurried me back to the car and we drove off. Party could sense my fear and, without look at me, said "You are strong, you can defend yourself," I smiled at him, but it was fake. We continued the silent car ride until the familiar sector 3 was in our view. "Where?" he asked. I pointed him in the direction and we arrived there quickly. "Well," Party said. "Save it, just tell them I will miss them. You too," I turned away from him and heard the car speed away.

I crawled into my old living space cautiously, to make sure no one had taken up residence there while I was gone. I looked around and saw nothing had changed. "Home sweet home," I sighed and walked to the corner where I slept. I collapsed on to it and burst out in tears. I felt like death, my side still hurt, I almost died, I don't have anyone to help protect me, and I don't have Kobra or the others with me. I heard my personal radio crackle and my ears honed in on the noise. "Listen up killjoys! We just got a report coming from one of the Four, saying that they found the body of Bomber Babe on the street in sector 4. Keep your guns close and keep an eye out. Report any drac sightings to me to keep everyone safe," His voice cut out and returned to static.

I laid looking up at the ceiling for quite a long time until I heard my stomach growl loudly. "Damnit, where's the food?" I had completely forgotten about my food stash. I searched around for a few minutes, and managed to find a can of Power-Pup. I brought it outside and started a fire as the sun started to go down. I held it close to the fire. Atom! I snapped my head to the side. I had heard Kobra's voice calling my name, but as I looked I saw nothing. I heard nothing as well. A searing pain came from my hand. "Fuck!" I dropped my can on the ground and cradled my hand. I had held it too close and left it there for too long. I sighed and grabbed the car, which had cooled down by now, and began eating the foul food from it.

I stomped out the fire once it got dark out and sat on the ground looking at the darkness. I placed my head into my hands and sighed loudly, maybe too loud. "Welcome back, Princess," I heard a raspy voice call out behind me. I looked up and saw the bald grimacing man for a split second before a pain in my head lead to darkness.
