"Atom?" I woke up to party calling my name from the door frame. He was leaned up not it and his bright red hair was messily parted on his head. He ran his fingers through it, pushing it back. I sat up and frowned, "Do we have to eat Power-Pup?" Party laughed and walked over to the bed and sat down at the foot of it. "Yes, but we'll cook it so it tastes slightly better," I rolled my eyes and jumped out of the bed. I threw on my leather jacket and my boots and followed Party. The group was sitting out front around a fire. Each one had a can of Power-Pup in their hands, holding them close to the fire. Party sat next to Ghoul and I sat next to Kobra. Kobra tossed me a can, I made a noise of disgust and they laughed. "Want something to drink?" Jet asked. "Do you have water to spare?" I asked. I have been very dehydrated the past few days and was hoping they'd have water. Jet tossed me a canteen and I poured the substance down my throat. "That was great, thanks," I said tossing the canteen back to Jet. I help my can close to the fire, not bothered by the heat, I knew the flavor would be lessened. I popped the can open and ate it quickly, I realized that I hadn't eaten in practically five days and I was starving. I looked up and saw Ghoul and Party talking, they were both occasionally glancing over at me, so I looked at my feet.
"Hey, I need to change your gauze, would you mind coming in?" Kobra said standing up putting this can down. "Sure," I said standing up I followed him while he walked down the halls in the diner. He opened a door and it had a table in the middle and had gauze and bottles all over the counters. "You can sit if you want," Kobra smiled. I sat on the table and slouched slightly. I heard him rummaging through the counter and his footsteps walking back. "Can-can you take off your jacket?" Kobra was holding a rag and gauze and tape. I nodded and pulled it off and threw it on the floor. I laid back on the table so Kobra could work on my side easily. "You are very lucky you're alive, you know that right?" Kobra said carefully pulling the gauze off. It was tugging at the small scabs on my side and it hurt, but nothing to its original pain. "I heard," I said through my teeth. I heard him laugh quietly and he walked over to the side I was looking. "This is gonna hurt a little," He began rubbing the wound and spraying disinfectant on it. I scrunched up my nose and gritted my teeth, but it wasn't too bad.
"There, now I just need to patch it up, wanna look at it?" He asked smiling a small crooked smile at me. I laughed and nodded my head. He had me stand up and walk over to the mirror. It was a huge dark red, brown, gouge surrounded with large bruises. "Ow," I was laughing slightly, but it hurt to laugh. Kobra noticed the pain, and helped me back to the table. "I'm gonna patch it up and you can get back to sleep," he smiled and laid me back on the table. I felt the gauze catch on the blood and felt the new pressure from his strong hands. "I never did get a good look at your tattoo," he said taping me up. "I haven't either," I joked. It was on my back so it was very hard to see it. "It looks very cool," he said tracing it with his cold fingers. "What tattoo did you get?" I remember them coming in to get tattoos and he had drawn something. "Oh, it was a little sketch Party drew, he's really talented. Here," he rolled up his sleave and showed me the tattoo. It was the same symbol from Party's room, it was a snake. "Cool. Does everyone have one?" I asked looking up at his eyes. He was scanning my side, making sure he had covered every inch on the wound. He nodded his head and pushed a piece of my red hair behind my ear.
Kobra's hands seemed to always be cold, like stone, but gentle, like he didn't want to hurt me. I sat up and smiled at him. He had me hop off the table and he walked me back to Party's room. "The only reason you're staying in here is because the other room is full of supplies, we'll clean it out soon. Also because Party has the biggest bed," I laughed at him and we both sat on the bed.
Then he did it.
He kissed me. Just a small kiss on the lips, nothing long, but also not just a peck. "I-I'm gonna go," he said standing up quickly and running out. "What. The. Actual." I murmured. I noticed that I had left my jacket back in the other room so I got up to get it. I opened the door and quickly grabbed and jogged back to the room, hoping that I wouldn't run into Kobra and make him uncomfortable. I opened the door and shut it sighing leaning my head against it. It was cold and it soothed the headache I was getting.
