~It is now the next day~
Cath kicked at a rock as she walked down the street, her armor clanged and weighed her down, it was annoying.
"Cathrine!" Cath turned and saw another soldier walking at a quick pace toward her.
"Hi, Anna." Cath didn't bother to face her fellow peer for long and continued on her walk.
The sun was barely visible on the horizon, and the cool morning air was tinted with wisps of fog. Birds chirped jovially, having risen with the sun. Always the same song, the same note, and the same pitch. At the same time, on the same stretch of road. Every morning Cath patrolled this road, only recently did she have a companion accompanying her.
"So," Anna placed her hand on her sword, trying not to seem like she wasn't uncomfortable in her armor, "what do you wanna talk about?"
"We don't need to talk." Cath kept her gaze on the road ahead and her pace steady.
"Okay..." Anna was quiet, she was quiet for a minute, a whole minute, just sixty seconds, no more no less, before she just had to say something else, "We could grab a drink?"
Cath stopped walking and considered this for a moment, "Sure, why not?"
Anna beamed, "I know a bar not too far from here."
"Let's go."
