Shinobu's Pov

Yesterday I had just received my new sword, as it was a better version of the one I used during the Final Selection, made by Mr. Tecchin, the best swordsmith of the Demon Slayer corps, and I was about to leave for a mission. "Okay, so you know all the treatments of all the patients and where their medicines are stored?" I asked to Aoi, as I made a final check to all my stuff before leaving.

She just scoffed at my question, and as she handed me a couple things that I was taking with me, she said. "Yeah, yeah, I know. I memorized everything I needed to know, and Kanao is here to help me as well, so you don't have to worry at all, just be safe out there." Then, as I got a check on everything that was left, I replied to her.

"I know, thanks. It's just still a bit hard to leave the two of you alone because of...well, you know." She nodded in agreement at this, and as she placed a hand on my shoulder, as a way of giving me reassurance.

I placed my hand on top of hers, and as I nodded back, to show that her actions were helping, I got my stuff, and walked out. Just before leaving, I said to goodbye to Kanao, Sumi, Kiyo and Naho, and then walked out, while waving at them for as long as I could.

Now that I was finally out, I started breathing deeply, as I was starting to get nervous, but was fairly able to calm myself, or at least I was able to do so, until my crow came out of nowhere exclaiming. "Caw! Caw! Kite Tenjo, old member of the Demon Slayer Corps and Stone Breathing cultivator, has died!!!" This was surprising, but after I catched up to it, I was extremely confused.

I couldn't understand why would my crow tell me this, as I didn't even know said person, so I asked. "Umm, alright, who's that?" To which the crow quickly answered.

"He's your friend's master, Y/N L/N!" Now I understood what happened, as I also suddenly remembered just how much did Y/N estimate his master, and how devastated he would feel due to this.

"Alright, thanks for telling me." I said to my crow, to which he nodded, right before flying away, however, while I acted fairly normal on the outside, I felt a bit nervous on the inside. 'Nah, he can deal with this...Just like with his mother...yea...' And while I did my best to try and convince myself that he would be fine, there was something still in the back of my mind telling me that maybe I should check on him.

'...Maybe...Maybe I should write him a letter...'

Y/N's Pov

"Silver? Huh, I had never seen that one." Said Tanya, as the two of us inspected my weapon, as the color was truly surprising. "You said you were developing your own breathing, right? I guess this is its new color." As he said this, I felt quite proud to see that I got my own color, and while my breathing was still in development, I looked forward to finishing it.

After that, the two of us chatted for a while more, as Tanya was a bit curious about my breathing, and even asked about its name, to which I said that I still didn't settle for one. "Humm, I know, your breathing is derived from the Stone Breathing, right?" He asked to me, and after a quick nod from myself, he lightly exclaimed. "Then how about, Sand Breathing! In the end, sand is made of smaller particles of rock that erode over time, and you said yours worked as a lighter version of the Stone Breathing, so I think it sticks quite well." Honestly, I liked what he said, and it felt like it had a nice ring to it, so I said that I would use it, to which he felt really honored.

We kept talking after that, but not that much, as he not only had to go back to the Swordsmith village, but I also had to go on my first mission. We quickly wrapped things up, as I gave him back his things, as I also quickly changed onto my new uniform.

I met him one last time at the entrance, where I said goodbye to him, and as I saw Tanya leave with all of his stuff, I was surprised by my crow, who promptly screamed at me. "Caw! Caw! To the North-East! There's a village under the attack of a Demon! You must go now!" I was really taken back by this, but after a quick breather, I said.
