Y/N's Pov

As Kanshu walked away from us, I turned to look at him moving away, and while I'm not the biggest fan of judging people behind their backs, I've gotta say that there was something in hi way of walking that bugged me out. Almost as if he believed himself to be superior to the rest in every aspect, even this one.

Either way, I just tried to ignore it the best I could, so I turned to look at the three of them again, and asked. "So, is he our actual leader, or did he just 'took' the role?" The three of them shrugged their shoulders, while Chugi replied.

"I'm not entirely sure, but I don't remember there being someone in charge, but maybe that's a common practice. To bring some of our superiors to lead this bigger operations." We were all rookies, so none of us tried to think too much about it, so I told to them that we should just follow along for now, and after they nodded at this, we went with them.

As we got with the rest, I could see at least two other people standing by the side, and Kanshu in the middle. By the look of it, I assumed that he wanted us to form a circle, so I quickly told Chugi and Jujun to stand beside the other two, at my left, while Tero stood by my right.

Once we were all in position, Kanshu looked around, and after inspecting us for a second, he scoffed at something, and after calling out for his crow, he asked to them. "Is this everything I get?" With a pretty angry tone as well.

The crow got a bit too nervous by his way of talking, making me think that this was a common occurrence, and then they said. "Y-Yes, Sir. It's the regular accommodation for a medium danger mission like this one. It consists of 3 Mizunoto, 1 Mizunoe, 1 Tsuchinoto and 1 Tsuchinoe. It also includes you, 1 Hinoe, which s-should be more than enough." Even with this explanation, Kanshu didn't seem satisfied at all, so he just sent his crow away, and started thinking about something.

Now that he was silent, I took a moment to take a closer look at him, and see what he looked like physically. He was pretty tall. If I had to guess, I would give him at least 6 feet, and probably a couple of inches on top of that. He was clearly older than me, especially since he was supposed to be a veteran, but even then, I would at much give him 19 years, and that was only taking those facts into account, as he seemed younger. He had short blond hair, which was quite odd around here, and a quite pale skin color, which is more common.

Aside from the anger he got from the current 'situation' he looked himself in, I could see that he kept some kind of condescendence towards me and the others. I could mostly notice it when he came to call us for talking, as more than being angry, he looked annoyed, as if we were wasting time.

Either way, after taking a deep breath, he looked up from the floor, and started talking to us. "Whatever, I'll just have to do what I can with you. Not like I'm expecting anything now." Hearing this immediately angered Tero, who was about to march towards him and do something probably, but I simply put my arm infront of him and whispered.

"Don't." He then just turned to look at me with an angered look, but I simply turned to look back with a serious face, and after a couple of seconds for him to see that I was Serious, he let out a 'tch', and stepped back.

Now that I managed to calm them down, we all turned to look back at Kanshu, and he seemed to be finally done thinking, and was finally going to assign roles. "Alright, we'll divide on two teams." He started saying. "You two Mizunoe." He said, while pointing at Chugi and Tero. "You'll go with the Tsuchinoto and Tsuchinoe." He then turned to look at me and Jujun, and finished with. "You two will be coming with me." I was a bit worried, since I knew that Jujun and Chugi worked better together, so when Kanshu asked. "Any questions?" I raised my hand.

He took a bit over a second, but once I was called out, I said. "Well, more than a question, it's a suggestion. The thing is, I know this three guys, and both Chugi and Jujun worked better as a pair, so I would advise for the two of them to be together." I was hoping that he would at least be understanding of this, but he simply shook his head and replied.
