Y/N's Pov

As the Demon jumped by my side, and directly towards Shinobu, I immediately threw my axe at the Demon, however, I somehow missed by a pretty big margin. Even bigger than the ones that I left when I doubted myself. I had no clue as to why was this, but I had no real time to question it, as this slip up was going to allow the Demon to get to Shinobu. I definitely didn't want her to die by my fault, however, as much as I wanted, I simply saw no way in which I could help her in time.

Right now, my best bet was to simply pray that she could get out of this by herself, but that wasn't the case. As she was trying to escape, she tripped and fell, leaving her wide open to the Demon. This almost seemed to send me in a sort of overdrive, as I immediately got up and pulled from my chain as hard as I could, aiming to throw any sort of attack to the Demon, however, as I pulled from it, I was meet with a force pulling back, not allowing me to attack. Then, since I wasn't in the right state of mind, I didn't turn to look back to see what it was, or to think of ways to get out of its hold, but instead, I simply pulled even hard, and after a few seconds, I heard a crack, then followed by me falling on my face due to the sudden release of force.

By the time my face got planted on the floor, I had already made myself the idea that Shinobu had been attacked already, however, as I heard a powerful a top my head, I was confused, since there was simply no way that neither the Demon nor Shinobu could make a sound like that.

It took me a bit to get up though, since I was too shocked to move correctly, but as I was finally able to get my view up to where Shinobu was lying, I could see a giant flail with spikes, just like the one I had before making all the changes to my weapon, and then, I heard her exclaim. "Mr. Himejima!" At first, I was confused, but after a few seconds, I recognized that name from somewhere. I wasn't sure where just yet, but I could recall it.

Once I brought up my sight though, I catch sight of an extremely big man, towering over two meters, with extremely big muscles, and what was the most recognizable, a pretty big scar a top his forehead. This ended up being what caught my eyes the most, as once again, this seemed familiar to me, and after some more thinking, I finally remembered.

He was always vague with his descriptions, and I'm sure he didn't say his name more than like twice or thrice on my whole stay, but I remembered Master telling me about his great student, and now I finally met him, Gyomei Himejima, a genius slayer who learned all the stone breathing techniques, and even became a Hashira, in just about two months, and Master's last student before I arrived.

Just by seeing him, I could tell that there was an aura of pure power, and raw strength, combined with an extremely refined technique. It was an amazing sight to see, but in the time that it took me to even catch up with all of this, Shinobu was already up, as I could hear her say. "Mr, Himejima! Nice to see you again!" I was surprised that she knew him, but even more than that, I was surprised to hear him say.

"Nice to see you as well, Kocho." And after this, he patted her head a bit, making Shinobu smile, and even chuckle slightly, however, she only moved his hand away from her, as she lightly exclaimed.

"C'mon, Mr. Himejima, I'm not a child anymore." She did her best to keep her focused face, however, I could tell that she was genuinely happy about this, which I liked. I was also a bit curious as to why they knew each other though, so I finally got up with a grunt, as I felt all the injuries on my body flaring up, and then walked closer to them.

As they took notice of me, Shinobu let out an 'Oh!', as she then helped me get closer and presented me. "Mr. Himejima, this is Y/N L/N. My partner for this mission, and my b-boyfriend." She seemed particularly nervous about this last part, but after thinking about it for a moment, I think I figured out why. Of course, this wasn't our first time telling someone else about our relationship, it wasn't even our first time telling it to someone of the corps, but it was our first time telling it to someone of a superior rank, and on top of that, it was clear that they knew each other, so I assumed that Shinobu was probably nervous that he wouldn't approve of our relationship, and seeing as he was one of the highest ranks in the entire corps, it made sense as to why she would be nervous.
