Reborn (Slow Updates)

Chapter 10

"This minute seems to be lasting forever." Leorio said. We were all waiting in front of the door, hoping the minute would go faster. Finally, the minute was up, and the door opened. I was the first one out, feeling slight relief that I was out of that cramped room. "Phew!" I smiled, feeling free.

"We only have little time left. Let's get through this quickly." Kurapika said, making the whole group nod. I honestly felt like Indiana Jones. Especially after a bolder was chasing us. Leorio wasn't enjoying himself, but I knew Gon, and Killua did. We finally came up to a door, asking if we wanted to open it. "Well, of course we do." Leorio said.

I watch as the group pushes a button on their watches, seeing the majority vote. 4 yes's and 1 no. Leorio then gets mad, saying that he's had enough of Tonpa's shit. "But I pressed O." Tonpa said, trying to defend himself. "You're a liar!" Leorio yelled, making me cover my ears. My ears were ringing, not being used to loud sounds yet.

"Sorry, Leorio. I accidently press X. It was my fault." Gon said, sounding a bit nervous. The adult teen then let's Tonpa's collar go, forgiving Gon in an instant. "Hey, wait a minute. I think you owe me an apology." Tonpa says, making me groan. "I don't owe you anything." Leorio said. "Forget this. Let's go." Killua said, walking through the door first.

"He's right. I'm out." I also said, following the white-haired albino kid. "Whoa!" I stop behind Killua, taking look around the room. 'Would I be able to pass through?' I thought, not thinking this through. Killua then ran back to the group, telling Gon to come check this out. Everyone finally walks in, seeing all the weapons on the wall.

We then hear the statue ask if we're ready for the last majority vote. Everyone except Tonpa answered yes. 

"Bastard-!"

"Let it go. We don't have time to argue." Kurapika said, making me stare at them. The statue then says choose a path. Either the long and difficult path which the whole group can take or the short and easy path which is only available to 3 people. Lippo then spoke up, hearing what the statue was saying. 

"If you choose the short and easy path, 4 people may go in. You guys' have already passed #246 here." I sigh, not expecting that. The timeline has changed drastically, not in a good way. I then see Leorio pick up a weapon. I widen my eyes, not wanting to be in the middle of their fight. "I'll be pushing X, but I will not be left behind." Leorio said.

'Uh oh.' I thought, backing up a bit. The room wasn't exactly big enough for all of us to fight. Gon then said that he was choosing O, he wanted all of us go together. "If it were up to me, Gon and I would be the 2 to pass through." Killua said. "Come on guys..." I say quietly, making the group look at me. I flinch, not expecting them to hear me.

"(Y/n), what do you think." Kurapika asked. I didn't get a chance to answer the blonde as an axe then swung towards my direction. I yelp and duck as fast as possible. I knew Leorio wasn't aiming for me, but he could've been more careful. "(Y/n)!" I hear Gon yell. 'That son of a bitch...' I thought. I couldn't do anything about it though.

"I guess if this is what it's come too." Killua said, sharping his fingernails. I wasn't sure what to do. I was in the middle of everything. Gon was going to need to think faster or else I might get my head chopped off. "Gon!" I yell, seeing the boy whip his head in my direction. "The wall!" I yell again, yelping as I almost got hit with Leorio's axe.

Gon then looks at the wall, widening his eyes. "Wait! Everyone, choose O!" Gon yelled, making me smile a bit. "We don't have time-!"

"Trust me! Just do it!" Gon yelled again, making everyone stop.

"(Y/n), number 246 is the twentieth to pass. Kurapika, number 404 is the twenty-first to pass. Killua, number 99 is the twenty-second to pass. Gon, number 405 is the twenty-third to pass." The speaker said. 'I shouldn't have been the twentieth...' I thought, looking at my feet. "Boy, my butt hurts!" Killua exclaimed.

"I certainly wasn't expecting the short and easy path to be a slide." Kurapika said. I then watch as Tonpa and Leorio try to push each other out.

Hearing the speaker say they pass as well, made me sigh. "My hands are wrecked. But all 6 of us cleared the tower together, didn't we?" Leorio said, looking over at me with a smile. I bite my bottom lip. "I need to distance myself..." I whisper, earning a glance from Killua. I then catch a glimpse of Hisoka, who was looking at me with surprise.

"Something wrong, (y/n)?" I look over at the blonde for a second and then glance back at Hisoka. "Nothing... Uhm, excuse me." I said. I then walk away from the group. I felt their suspicious stare. 'This is for the best.' I thought, walking towards Hisoka who was waiting. I stop near the pedo-clown and whisper, "Meet me somewhere private."

Hisoka didn't say anything, only nodded. The group of applicants start to walk out, making me follow. I tried to stay as far away from the main four, wanting to keep my promise. It was going to take a little while. In advance, I took off my badge, placing it into my bag. "Congratulations on escaping trick tower, everyone." Lippo said.

He then started to explain about drawing lots. Once it was my turn, I step up and pick out a random card. 'I wonder who'll my target be...' I thought. After everyone draws out a card, Lippo said it was okay to remove them. I remove mine and saw the number 198. I widen my eyes, 'Oh, for fucks sake! That's a number off from Killua's target!'

I wasn't about to stick with him when I'm supposed to stay away. I wanted to smack myself. We were finally led to a boat, where I decided to go somewhere private to have my talk with Hisoka. Not knowing someone was following me, I sat down. It took about 5 minutes for the pedo to finally make his way over.

"You wanted to talk?" Hisoka said, sitting next to me. "Yeah. Get these damn handcuffs off my wrist. You owe me that much for dropping me." I said, glaring at the red head. "Of course." Without a second thought, Hisoka lifted up my wrist and broke the handcuffs. I quickly take my arm back, not wanting him to touch me.

No matter how soft his skin was. "I do apologize for dropping you." Hisoka said. I didn't believe him though. "I could've died. I know you wouldn't have cared but I do." Hisoka nodded, saying he understood.

~Killua's Pov~

I make sure to conceal my presence, listening to (y/n)'s conversation with Hisoka. "I could've died. I know you wouldn't have cared but I do." (Y/n) said, seeing Hisoka nod towards the small boy. "Again. I do apologize. I do mean it." Hisoka says, staring at (y/n). He wasn't even sparing a glance towards the tall clown.

"Were you frightened?" Hisoka asked. I watch as (y/n) flinches a bit, turning away from him. 'He shouldn't be caring. What's Hisoka's deal...' I thought. It was suspicious that the clown was even having a conversation with (y/n). "Forget it. If I show weakness, then I'll get caught. Don't come near me." (Y/n) said, standing up and walking away.

I then walk backwards, hoping to meet him on the other side. I walk around the corner, making (y/n) accidently bump into me. This would be the second time. "Sorry." (Y/n) said, looking up at me. I stare into his (e/c) eyes, wanting to know what he was thinking. "Have you seen Gon?" I ask, trying to change the subject.

(Y/n)'s eyes look a bit sad, only to revert back to normal. "I think he's over there." I hum, grabbing his wrist and dragging (y/n) with me. "Hey! Let go you monster!" (Y/n) said, being dramatic. "Knock it off." I said back, pulling him all the way to where Gon was. 'This is stupid...' I thought...
