"Apologize to Killua!" Gon said, talking to Illumi who was sitting in his seat. Illumi only stared forward, not even glancing at the boy. When the older Zoldyck finally decided to acknowledge the green-haired boy, he only said, "Sorry? But what for?" That made Gon say, "You don't know what you did wrong?"
"No."
"You're not qualified to be his big brother." Gon said, glaring at Illumi. "I didn't know I had to qualify." That was when Gon grabbed onto Illumi's wrist and flipped him. Although, Illumi took it like a champ and gracefully landed. "Friends don't have to, either. He gets to choose!" I shift in my seat.
I was unlucky enough to get a seat right next to the older Zoldyck. He was really scary in person. No wonder Killua felt threatened. I watch as Gon squeezes Illumi's wrist, breaking it. "Don't even bother apologizing. Just take me to see Killua." Gon said. "And what will you do?" Illumi asks.
"It's obvious! I'll bring him back!"
"From the sound of it, you must think I kidnapped my little brother. But he walked out of here of his own free will. That boy also followed him." Illumi said, pointing at me. I flinch at being called out. Gon takes a glance at me and then returns to Illumi, saying, "He left, but not by his free will. You guys were manipulating him. That's the same thing as kidnapping!"
Netero then steps forward, telling Gon that Kurapika and Leorio had complaints. Kurapika then stands up, "You saw it yourself. Both during and since his match with the man called Gittarrackur, Killua behaved strangely. I believe that there is only one reason that Killua comitted murder. He was hypnotized."
Kurapika then continued, saying that assassins raised Killua and that it was possible for Illumi to hypnotize him. Leorio also stands, saying, "It's worth noting that that attack happened during my match with Bodoro. So, it's possible Killua intened to aid my cause. Which means if you're going to disqualify anyone, it should be me!"
I tune out the conversation, knowing I had nothing to do with any of this. I had hoped I could stop Killua from going home when I chased after him. That didn't necessarily work, but I was able to say that Gon was coming for him. 'I hope that eased his mind...' I thought. I then lay in my arms, feeling exhausted.
The voices that were talking had muffled as I closed my eyes. I wasn't trying to go to sleep but sometimes you can't help it. "It was also weird how Killua gave in after one kick from that frail girl there." I heard that clear as day, flinching and lifting my head up so fast I almost got a headache. I stare at Pokkle, not expecting him to be pointing at me.
"Excuse me?" I said lowly, glaring at the boy. I never really minded his character but if he was going to bring me up then he'll have another thing coming. "You heard me. I wonder why Killua suddenly let you win. Did you guys make a deal? You both were whispering to each other." Pokkle said.
My glare turned venomous. I watch as Pokkle finches at my stare, earning a slight victory on my end. Although, Pokkle still had the guts to say, "Mind telling us what you and Killua were whispering about?" I scoff. "Oh, please. Killua didn't even want to fight you. At least I got a hit in. By the way, quit misgendering me. I'm a boy." I say, still glaring at the boy.
"This is pointless." Gon said, shutting everyone up. I sigh, knowing I shouldn't get angry. I sit back down, staring at the wall. Hanzo then stood up, saying he wanted to get this over with and go home. 'Hanzo, you do have a point.' I thought, now agreeing with the older lad. "This is completely pointless!" Gon yells.
I wince and cover my ears. I was getting a bit better, but it still hurt. Gon continued saying why argue about someone passing and that we should work hard. I never really paid attention to this scene. I felt that the lecture was boring and cringe. If anything, I skipped it a couple times. "I will never forgive you." Gon said, staring at Illumi.
'Gon...' I thought, now staring at the scene next to me. I started to remember why I was distancing myself in the first place. It was so I couldn't get in the way. So, then Killua and Gon didn't have problems after the hunter exam. I know that this was supposed to happen, but I wasn't supposed to be in the middle of it.
I ball my fist, staring down at the desk. I close my eyes, relaxing myself. I then hear Illumi ask what Gon was going to do. "I won't do anything. But after I go rescue Killua, I'll never let you see him again!" Gon said. I keep my eyes close, listening to every word. "Hmm..." I then hear Gon jump back, not wanting Illumi to touch him.
Netero clears his throat, gaining everyone's attention. This orientation was going to be over soon. I was honestly happy about that.
=====
I was waiting outside the place Illumi and Gon would talk again. I had to make this the last time I see them. 'I can do this.' I thought. Although, I had a feeling it wasn't going to be so easy. I look at the older Zoldyck, knowing he could feel my stare on his back. "Gittarrackur." I finally hear Gon walk towards us.
I look behind and see the boy, who wasn't expecting me to be here as well. "(Y/n)?" I shrug, just waiting for Gon to finish speaking to Illumi. "Anyway, I want you to tell me where Killua is." Gon said.
"You're really going after him? I think that's a bad idea."
"Who cares what you think. Killua is my friend. I'll get him back, I swear." Gon says, giving a look of determination. "And do they feel the same way?" Illumi asks, making Gon look behind him. Kurapika and Leorio stood there. "You bet we do." Leorio said. They both smile down at Gon, having a heart-warming moment.
"And you?" I look at Illumi, not sure what I was going to say. "Well..." I felt the groups stare on me. I gently touch the bandages on my neck. 'I could still feel his nails... Weird.' I sigh. I was having a hard time telling Illumi that I wouldn't be going with them. I tried to prepare for this moment, but I guess I need more time.
"I do." I said without thinking. "Fine, then. I doubt you'll be able to get there, anyway." Illumi said, now telling Gon that Killua went home.
"Where's that?"
"On Kukuroo Mountain. You can find our family's house on the summit."
I hold my bag close to my chest, wanting to hug something. 'I could just seperate from them after we're done... I need to be strong and keep my promise.' I thought. "We got it. Thanks a lot." Gon said, walking away. I follow behind Kurapika, knowing this was going to take a while. Especially if we were going to train to open the door.
'Would I be able to do the training at all?' I thought, groaning mentally...
