"Huh. Gon's late." Killua said. I sigh, knowing exactly why he was late. "He'll make it..." I said, seeing Killua glance at me. Right at the last second, I see Gon with Leorio and Kurapika running towards us. Once the trio stop, Killua walks up to Gon. He was saying he thought he wouldn't make it.

Gon only laughs nervously. Khara then announces that the phase was over, and no one could exchange badges beyond this point. I then take out my two badges, showing them to Khara. I was fairly surprised that no one went after me. 'I wonder if it's because of Killua...' I thought. Khara then starts to say how all 10 applicants have passed.

'I'm worried...' I then see an airship land, telling me to go on it. Everyone followed suit and got comfortable. I didn't know how the final phase was going to go nor did I know who I would be fighting. I just hope it wasn't someone who can beat my ass. I left Killua behind and walked around, waiting for the announcement.

"Attention, all applicants. The chairman wishes to interview you." Beans said over the speaker. "That was fast." I whisper.

"When you hear your number, come to the reception room on the second floor. We'll start with number 44, Mr. Hisoka."

"Aye yai yai." I sigh. I also didn't know when I would be called down. Nonetheless, I made my way to the second floor. I just wanted to hurry it up.

           =====

"Number 246 please come to the reception room."

I sigh, watching Leorio leave the room. "Good luck." Leorio says, giving me a smile. I walk into the room, seeing Netero sitting across from the table. Without a second thought, I sit down. "I'm just going to ask you a few questions. Mainly for my own curiosity." I nod my head. "Why do you want to become a hunter?" Netero asks.

'I can be honest, right?' I thought, thinking about my answer. I decided to just tell him the truth. What would be the point in lying. "Because with a hunter's license, I could live in comfort. My father wanted me to take the hunter exam. Although I don't plan to go back." I said. Netero gives me a look.

"Why not go back?"

"Because I don't consider them as parents. Parents are supposed to love you for who you are. But my mother decided to try and make me a girl." I said again, admitting everything. "I see..." Netero says. Netero then moves on to the next question, asking, "Out of the other nine applicants, which are you keeping a close eye one."

"Definitely number 44. We were partners in the third phase. He is strong, I'll give him that. Although we had a little... squabble." I said. "I also am keeping an eye on 99. Mostly because he's someone who I can't get rid of." Netero nods, listening to every word.

"Well, one last question and we're done. Which one of the other nine remaining applicants would you least want to fight?" I didn't want to fight anyone, if I were to be honest. I'm not as strong as everyone else. Even Leorio is stronger than me. But I knew I had to answer. "I wouldn't want to fight 44. I also wouldn't want to fight 405, for obvious reasons." I said.

"Hm... Understood. Thank you for answering my questions. That'll be all." Netero said, shooing me out the door. I scoff and stand up, walking out of the room. "That took a little longer than everyone else. I wonder what you guys were talking about." I look over and see Killua leaning against the wall.

He was staring in my direction, curious about the questions. "My reasoning to become a hunter was longer than anyone else here. That's why." I said, looking away. "Oh yeah? What's your reasoning?" Killua asked. I couldn't answer him. "Who cares. Mind your business, Killua." I said, walking away. Although, I can hear him follow me.

He wasn't trying to hide his presence. "Can't I walk alone?" I asked, looking behind me. "Nah." I groan and look forward, still trying to get away from the albino boy. "What d'ya think the final phase will be?" Killua asked, still walking behind me. He was closer than before. Killua was walking faster on purpose.

"I have an idea but I ain't telling you." I said. "Hah?! Tell me." I shake my head. I hear Killua scoff, making me smirk a bit. "I'm going to my room. So, don't follow me." I said. The white-haired boy did NOT listen though. He continued to follow, annoying me greatly. By this point I've walked around the whole second floor.

"I thought you were going to your room." I groan loudly, stopping. I felt Killua hit my back, pushing me forward. "Watch it." I said, glaring at the boy. "Not my fault you stopped."

"Not my fault you followed me."

We both glare at each other. "What's your problem." Killua asked. I sigh and walk to the window, not wanting to answer that question. "Next question." Killua stands next to me. I felt his stare on me. It was making me nervous. "Why are you trying so hard to get away from me?" Killua asked again.

"Next question."

"Nu-uh. No next question. I won't stop bothering you till you tell me." I lay my head in my arms, facing Killua. "I can't answer that. If anything, I can only say that I'm in the way." I said, gripping onto my hoodie sleeve. "How's that?" I shake my head and close my eyes. "Don't ask me anymore questions, Killua..." I whisper.

I open my eyes only to find Killua laying in his arms, facing me. I stare into his blue eyes as he stares into my (e/c) ones. "Do you think I'm in the way?" I suddenly ask. "Nah." Killua replies back. I scoot closer, touching the albino boys' shoulder with mine. "Don't lie."

"I'm not."

"Right."

We both then smile at each other. 'I guess keeping my distance can wait till the final phase...' I thought. I was enjoying myself. I had hoped Killua was as well.

           =====

"Huh?" I had my eyes widened as I saw the bracket. 'I would be... fighting Killua?' I thought. I couldn't believe this. It was supposed to be Pokkle up against Killua, not me. Netero explains how everyone was placed and ranked, also saying some people have more chances of passing than others.

I glance at the white-haired boy who stood next to me. He seemed surprised as well. I then turn back to the bracket that has been shown to the rest of the applicants. 'I can't fight Killua. I'll lose. But if one of us loses, the other fights Pokkle. How does that make sense?' I thought once again.

"I'm not convinced." Killua said. I sigh, knowing what he was about to say next. "Could you explain exactly how you scored our performances?"

"Hmm.... NO!" Netero yelled, making a funny face while wiggling his body.

I wasn't ready for this. Especially for what's about to come...
