Three days later...
Hoseok visited Taehyung in his mansion because the latter called him and told him that he wanted to talk about something. It was a Saturday mid morning. They were in the kitchen while Taehyung was cooking lunch. He sent Aunt Mina to the grocery store to buy some ingredients, so the lady would not overhear their conversation . Jaehyun was in his weekend soccer practice.
Taehyung poured tea in a mug and handed it to Hobi, along with a plate of cookies, while staring at his friend. Hobi sipped the tea and looked at Taehyung with his brows furrowing. "So, what do you want to talk about?" He leaned forward in the dining table, putting his chin over his hand as he glanced at the man who turned back to cooking and was busy stirring/mixing the ingredients on the pot. Taehyung fell silent as he focused on what he is doing. Hobi knew that something is up and when his friend kept silent, there was something running in his mind. Hobi felt a little nervous of Taehyung's actions. Two minutes later, Taehyung put off the stove and covered the pot. Then he leaned back at the counter, arms folded in his chest and looked at his friend. He sighed and asked the man sitting in the table. "How long have you known that he is back, Hobi hyung?" The glint in his eyes is evident as he questioned his friend.
Hobi spat the tea, coughing out loud. "Taehyung..." Hobi was speechless. "Wh-What are you talking about?" Hobi stuttered as he wiped his lips with a napkin Taehyung handed him.
"Jin is back. He was in my office three days ago. I took an interview to him because he was applying as executive chef in the main hotel. Did you know that he was back?" Taehyung raised his left brow while asking Hobi who was placing his hand behind his neck.
"Tae...uhm..buddy, I-how did you know?"
"So you knew? And you did not tell me? I thought you were my best friend? " Taehyung's hurt expression is obvious and Hobi could not do something to explain how he knew that Jin was back.
"I find it unnecessary to tell you, I thought you'd better find out yourself. Anyway, I did not treat him the way he should be. I was so unsympathetic towards him." The man was a little bit nervous, sipping the tea.
"It's not that, hyung. And I don't like the way you treated him. He's still my husband, he's -"
"Ex-husband, Tae. " Hobi stressed. "He left you. And yes, I know he is still Jaehyun's other father. But don't I have the right to at least slap in his face how he treated you before and make him regret for leaving you and my nephew? How dared he come back here and just show up? And then what, he will beg you to come back to him and your son? And you? What will you do? Take him back as if nothing happened and be in love again? Tae, stand your ground, for fuck's sake." Hobi ranted to Taehyung. The younger just sighed.
"Hyung, you could have told me. And by the way, how the hell did he contact you? He had your number?" Taehyung was curious to know.
Hobi looked at the younger. "Namjoon gave my number to him. He's Jimin's husband, remember? Jimin is the older brother of Jin. Namjoon and I shared numbers before but we never had a chance to talk or call each other. Jin contacted me a week before he came back. I was in the shop. At first, I wanted to just ignore him. But I thought of Namjoon, he's our friend. So for the sake of our friendship, I talked to him. He asked me for help to find him a place to stay. And I found him one. I even fetched him from the airport. But I was so cold to him. He asked me if I need additional staff in my shop, he wanted to work but I turned him down." Hobi said matter-of-factly while picking one of the cookies and munched it, looking at his friend. Taehyung was having a lot of things in his mind.
