A Missing Ninja

Chapter Fifteen

The sound of someone knocking woke up Garu. He groaned as he rubbed his eyes and tiredly marched towards the door. He was surprised to see Yeobo at the door. "Oh good morning Yeobo." he greeted her. She smiled and gave a light blush. "Morning Garu, I...I brought you some pastries, you know just to say thank you." she said quietly. "Oh it was nothing Yeobo, you didn't have to go through so much trouble to make this for me. I don't think I can accept them." Garu said. "I can!" Blaze exclaimed as he took the basket of pastries and ran back inside to eat them. Garu could see Yeobo looked a little upset. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. Would you like to come in for breakfast?" Garu asked her. She looked up and shook her head. "No thank you, I just ate. Goodbye Garu." she said quickly. With that she walked away.

"Uh...bye." he replied. When he closed the door, Blaze and Melody has the biggest smiles on their faces. "What?" "GARU'S GOT A GIRLFRIEND!! GARU'S GOT A GIRLFRIEND!!" they began teasing their older brother. Garu rolled his eyes. "No she's not. Listen, I'm not in the mood for dating right now, and we don't know each other that well." Garu stated. To be honest, he doesn't think he'll ever try to get into a relationship again.

"Oh come on. You only live once, besides Yeobo's a nice girl." Hope said. "Plus, I think she likes you." Noble teased while nudging his little brother. "Well I don't think..." Garu's sentence was interrupted when he heard the sound of horns. Melody gasped in excitement. "DADDY'S HOME!!" she cheered and ran out of the house. Blaze cheered and did the same.

"Hmm...Chul's home earlier than I excpected." their mother said. Noble shrugged. "Must've been an easy mission." he said.

Chul walked in with the twins on his legs, and laughing. "Easy you two I'm fragile." he chuckled and he paused when he saw Garu. Aera sensed the tension. "Come along children, let's leave your father to rest." she stated and Garu's siblings left him with his parents.

The two kept staring at each other. "I...I thought you were dead." Chul mumbled through tears. He approached Garu and cupped his face. "F-Father?" Garu stuttered. Chul began to break down in tears and he held his forehead against Garu's. "I am so sorry! This is all my fault!! I..." "Chul no, you did everything you could." Aera said comforting her husband.

"What's your fault? Mother what happened to me? Didn't you want me?" Garu asked, feeling himself tear up. Aera hugged him tightly. "Of course we did, we loved you with all of our hearts. But..." she said and looked at Chul. He sighed and nodded. "You were... stolen from us." Garu's eyes widened. "Our village wasn't always so peaceful. There was a rival ninja clan, and every night they would search for blood. Then one night...

~Flashback~
*Crash* The sound of broken glass woke up Chul and Aera. Chul quickly grabbed his sword. "Grab the children and get to the safe room." he whispered. Aera nodded and quickly grabbed her sword and headed for the children's rooms. However, it was an ambush. Evil ninjas appeared from all around the house. They attacked from side to side at the parents. However, they were both skilled warriors and easily maneuvered the ninjas. However, the sound of a baby's cry interrupted the brawl. One ninja looked up and headed towards the direction. "Garu! No!" Chul exclaimed and ran after the ninja. Aera wanted to come but she had to think about her other children, so she lead Noble and Hope to safety.

The ninja picked up crying baby Garu and escaped out the window. Chul angrily chased after them, determined to get his baby back. However, the ninja was quicker than they seemed. It wasn't long before reinforcements came to help the ninja. Chul fought from left and right to fend off the ninjas and keep track of the ninja who had Garu. One hard blow to the head took Chul aback. He lost his vision for a split second to only realize that the ninja who had Garu disappeared.

In a rage, Chul attacked and killed every ninja of that clan mercilessly as the sound of his crying son faded in the darkness. After it was done, Chul got on his knees and screamed at the heavens before breaking down. He returned to his wife and older children to share the horrific news.

However, the ninja who took the baby knew what would happen to it when returned to their master. Their master was cruel and merciless, but the ninja had a conscience and a heart. Looking around, they spotted an orphanage. The ninja placed the crying baby at the door and pounded on it. They waited patiently for the door to be answered, at it was. As soon as a woman took the baby inside, the ninja vanished at the sight. Never to be seen again.

~End of Flashback~

Garu sighed, this was a heavy thing to bare. He looked at his parents, and they still felt a little melancholy due to the tragic event. "Mother, Father, I'm here now. And you don't have to worry about losing me again." he told them and brought them in for a hug. His parents smiled and hugged back. Unknown to them, Garu's old life was about to come to the light.
