Poland POV
The rest of the day was... Awkward to say the least. To stay on the positive side of things, our team won the competition! The other side?
The friend group is breaking up...
I look out to the distant forest, in hopes of a miracle. I don't want to pick sides. There shouldn't be beef between countries yet! We're still kids-well, teens- but we shouldn't grow up as our parents. We should love each other! I sigh, looking up the at night sky. The stars shimmer, making me believe of some hope. I wish... I wish upon a star that-
"Is something wrong, Poland? Your eyes look gloomy."
"It's nothing." I force myself to make a positive facial expression. Israel sighs and sits down next to me. She rests a hand on my shoulder and has a look of sympathy.
"If you need someone to talk to, I'm all ears."
I look over at the Israeli, not sure if I should. She is a really nice country. Able to hold secrets like a vault. Not a single lie leaks out of her mouth. I can tell her... She knows what's happening, after all.
"The friend group is breaking up. Our friends are picking sides and we shouldn't be allowing this. We aren't adults yet! There's nothing to argue or get mad about." I rant. Getting all my emotions out. My heart beats faster as I think about my friends becoming my enemies. Israel hums as a sign of recognition. I can see her focusing on the subject from the furrowed eyebrow.
"I don't want enemies. I want to be friends with everyone." I mumble, hugging my knees.
"I know, Poland. Countries change for the worse sometimes. You just have to maintain a good friendship with everyone no matter of your friend group hates them or not."
Israel's words of wisdom entice me. I'll not join any side. I'll look down from the mountain and let the two tigers fight. I'll maintain a friendship with both parties. That's the path I'll take. That's the best path to take. That's the only path to take.
"Thank you." I grin, hugging the Israeli.
"You're welcome." Israel hugs back. It's so nice to have her as my friend.
"Poland!"
I feel Ukraine wrap her arm around my neck. Almost like chocking me!
"Did you forget about me?" Israel huffs, jokingly.
"Sorry Israel." Ukraine laughs. "But Poland here has a fish to catch."
I feel my cheeks burn up in flames. Ukraine doesn't mean him, right?
"Am I miss something here?" Israel asks, confused as ever.
"Obviously Germany!"
"You just had to say that!" I shriek, hitting Ukraine's head.
"Poland's got a crush!~" Israel sings.
"Shut up!"
