When I've packed all my things and closed the door behind me I take my phone out. My mom and dad weren't even surprised I'm going to Lauren's. We are almost everyday together.
To BFF<3: Coming now!
Directly after I sent it she answers.
From BFF<3: Great! I'm planning some costumes already. See you soon darling! <3
To BFF<3: See you soon! <3
I listen to music as I walk. Nick finds his way again to my thoughts. How is he doing? How bad was it with his foot? I'm worried. Shut up mind! You're thinking too much about him. I'm annoyed at my self for getting my thoughts caught on a boy. It's the first time I've ever thought about a boy longer than five seconds.
Nick's POV (Sorry for jumping between people in this chapter but I wanted to give you a bit of an insight of what's going on in Nick's head.)
"Thanks for staying with me and for calling the ambulance." I say and then the nurse helps me out through the door. She was a nice girl. It could be nice to hang out with her sometime. Ivy, that's a nice name. She must have spent a hell of a lot of time doing her hair but that thick braid that went around her head was really well done. Her grey-blue eyes are beautiful. And when she talked about the library they sparkled. Am I starting to develop a crush on her? No that can't be. Not again. Not after what happened last time. I shudder at the memory. I shouldn't even think about it. I stop thinking because it just causes me to remember unpleasent things. When we arrive at the hospital the same nurse helps me out from the ambulance and into the hospital. We walk into a room with white walls. She helps me sit down on a chair. Then she leaves but just a moment after a man, who I assume is a doctor because he is dressed like a doctor, comes in.
When I later that day leave the hospital with my mother I have a plaster on my foot and I steady myself on a crutch. No bones were broken but I had something I don't remember the name of anymore. It doesn't hurt as much as earlier anymore. I try to think happy thoughts but it doesn't work when I'm not allowed to run in a few weeks. And track is my hobby! Or one of them. Suddenly a thought hits me. I won't be able to dance at the dance this Friday now! Damn it! I had thought that I maybe would dance with Ivy a few dances.
"Mum, do you think my foot is well enough on Friday so I can dance a dance or two?" I ask worriedly.
"Maybe if you rest the whole week before it. Tommorrow I'll call school and say you're sick. Is there someone special you want to dance with?"
"No, yes, maybe?" I blush. I tell everything to my mother so how could I keep this a secret from her?
"Ooh! When did you meet her?" My mom sounds like a small girl who is going to get to know about a secret.
"Today actually. In the library. She was the one who called the ambulance and she stayed with me when we waited for it to come."
"Name? Age? Looks?" My mom asks wanting to know everything about Ivy.
"Ivy, she's in my class actually. She was short, grey-blue eyes, her hair was in a thick braid around her kinda small head. She was a bit pale like she would be one that doesn't spend much time outside. Well, she called the library her second home."
"She sounds delightful and intelligent, if she likes the library! For how long did you talk?"
"Twenty minutes maybe?"
"And you caught all this in that time?" My mom raises her eyebrows.
"Yes... But I promise this isn't going to be like last time. I couldn't do that again to myself and she doesn't seem like someone who could do that to someone." I try to convince the both of us. I really hope she wouldn't be like that.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah."
Back to Ivy's POV
I'm at Lauren's house and walk the last few steps. I knock our signature knock: three long knocks and two short knocks. A few seconds after Lauren opens the door.
"Hi darling! It took you ages! Did you forget yourself in the library again?"
"Well kinda." She rolls her eyes. "But not of the reason you think it is!" I explain quickly.
"Why then?" She asks and drags me after her upstairs to her room.
"When I was about to leave I heard a thump on the other side of the shelf I was standing next to. And when I walked over there was a boy sitting on the floor holding his foot. So I asked how he was and then we talked a bit and then I called the ambulance and then he left." I sound a bit bitter at the end and it doesn't go past Lauren's ears.
"Were you disapointed when he left?" She asks surprised. "You don't usually like to talk to boys."
"I know but there was something different about him."
"What?" Lauren asks curiously and pats the spot on her bed next to her as a sign for me to sit down. I flop down onto the bed.
"I don't know. He was so nice and it was super easy to talk to him."
"What did he look like?"
"He was tall if I remember right. Icy-blue eyes and dark brown hair in a quiff. Maybe an athlete."
"He sounds lovely! Wait, are you talking about Nick? No you can't be!"
"Yes actually." I answer simply.
"Oh my gosh! You would be the cutest couple ever! He's so much taller than you! Awww!" Lauren screams excitedly.
"He doesn't even like me probably and I don't like him."
"You sure?" Lauren wiggles her eyebrows.
"Yes. At least at now." I mumble the last part so she can't hear it. "Didn't I come here to look for a costume for you?" I ask remembering the main reason why I came here in the first place.
"Yes! Let's begin!" Lauren claps her hands and walks over to her walk-in closet. "So I've already looked through a few. My favourites at the moment are Belle, Ariel, Rapunzel and Anna."
"Put them on and show to me so I can judge them better." I smile at her enthusiasm.
"Which one should I start with?"
"It doesn't matter to me."
"Okay, wait a moment. I'll be back with one of the costumes on." She says and walks through the door into her walk-in closet. When she comes back she has the Rapunzel-dress on.
"That looks really nice but you nearly always wear pink to a party so maybe you now want to wear something else?"
"How did you remember that? And you don't even come to the parties!"
"Because I'm always helping you to pick out an outfit."
"That's true. Well I'll go put on another one then." This time she has the Ariel-costume on. "What do you think?"
"Nice, flatters your body nicely. Next!" I smile. I've always loved helping her pick out an outfit. She comes back out.
"This is the Anna-costume."
"Not as nice as Ariel but nice." She looks a little disapointed but still smiles.
"Last one. Belle."
"Aww! You look beautiful! This one is it!"
"Thanks again for the help! You're the best friend in the world!" She gives me a tight hug.
"Careful so you don't crinkle your dress." Lauren lets go of me and goes back to her walk-in closet and switches back to normal clothes.
"Do you want to watch a movie?" She asks.
"Why not!" We walk back downstairs and sit down on their sofa and start watching some Disney movie Lauren picked out earlier. I don't mind that she does most of the decicions.
