After school on Thursday I wait outside of the school for the rest to come. I'm sitting on the stairs again reading a book.
"Andrew you have to tell us!" A girl voice speaks behind me and I turn around. I see Andrew and a girl with blond hair and a couple come out from the school.
"Oh there you are!" Andrew says relieved when he sees me. I guess he is relieved because he doesn't have to answer the blond girls question.
"Is that her?" The other girl asks. "Hi, I'm Ann and this is my boyfriend Peter. That's Lucy and her brother Nick. Though I guess you have already met Nick if I remember correctly what he has told me." I stand up. I'm nervous to meet so many new people. Well, they aren't exactly new to me. We are in the same class after all, but I've never really talked to any of them before.
"Hi, I'm Ivy." I say quietly. "Isn't someone still missing?" I ask at the same time as two boys from our class run out the doors and nearly trip on me.
"Sorry! Didn't see you there. You're so small." One of them says. "I'm Max." He continues when he realises I'm with the rest of the 'gang' as Andrew calls it. "You must be Ivy. Nice to meet you, finally." He looks at Andrew.
"I'm Edmund." The other boy says.
"Hi." I'm still talking quite quietly.
"Let's go! I've got a nice evening planned for us." Andrew says and starts walking. I follow him and everyone else does too.
"What do you have planned for us? Board games, food, a movie?" Max asks.
"I thought since it's the first time Ivy is with us that we could play games so that we could get to know her better." Andrew answers.
"I bet she wants to know something about us too, don't you?" Lucy asks and comes to walk next to me. "I'm pretty sure we will be friends in no time." She smiles at me and I smile back.
"How far is your home Andrew?" I ask.
"Just a few minutes walk." Edmund answers instead of Andrew.
"It's the same exact time it takes to Edmund's because he lives just across the street." Andrew explains. We talk a little on the way. I figure out some things like that Ann and Peter have been together since third grade. Nick and Lucy are twins but not identical. Max livs with his aunt. Edmund and Andrew have been friends since small. I tell a bit about myself too but not anything too personal. I tell about Ebony and Snowy and that I live with only my mum and a few other small things.
"What do you like to do in your spare time?" Ann asks.
"Read and write. And listen to music. Sometimes I sing though my voice is horrible."
"Oh you haven't had to hear Peter sing in the shower. Sorry babe, but that's almost like someone was trying to kill a cat." Ann says and kisses Peter's cheek. We laugh when he pouts.
"I know dear, but you still put up with it." He kisses Ann's nose which earns a giggle from her.
"What about you, what do you like to do in your spare time?" I ask.
"We usually just hang out with each other when we aren't in some hobbies." Max answers.
"What hobbies do you have?" I ask.
"Nick, Andrew and Max have track. Lucy and Nick also play the piano. Andrew playes also chess though you knew that already. Ann, Peter and me have nothing." Edmund answers.
"Hey I've told you I don't want people to know that I play the piano!" Nick says angrily and swats at Edmund.
"Sorry! It's just Ivy still. She wouldn't tell to anyone, now would she?" Max tries to calm Nick.
"I won't tell anyone." Nick seems to calm down a bit. "But, I want to hear you play sometime." I say and he gets nervous again. "No worries, nobody else has to be there listening if you don't want to." I continue.
"Fine." He sighs. "I want to hear you sing some day too though."
"My voice is horrible!" I exclaim.
"Still. Otherwise I'm never going to play."
"Fine. Some day." I mutter. I'm just going to hope that he forgets it. Actually I'm not sure how my voice is, I just can't sing in front of other people. I'm too scared and would almost start to panic.

After all I have a good time at Andrew's and I get to know him and his friends better. They have already taken me in as a part of their 'gang'. I'm probably going to hang out with them quite often. We play board games, talk quite much though I try to not tell too much about myself yet, I've always had a hard time learning to trust people. We ate and now we are going to watch a movie. Max, Edmund and Lucy sits down on the carpet in front of the sofa and Ann sits down in Peter's lap in a chair. Andrew and Nick sits down on the small couch in Andrew's room. I check my phone quickly to see if mum has messaged me. Nothing. I check the clock too. It's almost half past six. I'll have to leave in about an hour and a quarter to be at home at eight.
"Come and sit Ivy!" Nick says and pats the spot between him and Andrew on the small couch. I walk over and sit down. The movie starts. It's a bit scary and makes me jump at a few scary places. I feel someones hand be placed gently on my shoulder. I glance through the corner of my eye at Andrew. He looks straight at the TV. Why would he put his hand on my shoulder? Oddly enough, it calms me a bit. When the movie ends I check the clock.
"Oh my gosh! It's already quarter to eight. I'm going to be late!" I quickly pack my things and hurry downstairs to put my shoes and jacket on. I trip on air at the bottom of the staircase and fall.
"Are you alright?" Andrew asks worriedly.
"Yeah, thanks for asking."
"Ivy! If you want, my mum could give you a ride home. She's anyways waiting for me and Nick already." Lucy asks.
"That would be grate! Thanks a lot!" Lucy, Nick and I hurry out and into their mother's car. When we get to my house I thank them and step out of the car.
"We'll see you tomorrow. Bye!"
"Bye!" I shut the door and hurry inside. I'm at home just a minute or two before I had to. I made it.
"Hi! I'm going to bed." I quickly hug my mother and then walk upstairs.
"Good night!" She shouts after me.
"Good night!" I shout back. I quickly change my clothes and wash my teeth. I fall asleep directly.
