Ivy's POV
Who could they be who wrote all these notes to me. They know the competition and talked about the stress of not knowing anything. Could they be the other Mysteries? No, no way. The writer said they'd help me and the other Mysteries are probably alluded already except for the queen.
The writer also mentioned that I had already been told parts of it and thanked that person. That person is Mimosa. The writer called Mimosa a darling angel. So it can't be the queen can it? She could never call Mimosa that, could she?
I can't deal with this right now. I need to sleep.
The next day when I come to school I can't even look at Nick when he walks past my locker.
"Hi Ivy!" He sounds so cheerful, how? I stare into my locker "searching for my books".
"Hi Nick..." I mumble. Lauren comes up to me with Alex and Andrew following her.
"Hey darling, how are you feeling? You didn't answer my message last night." Lauren hooks her hand in Alex's. Andrew looks at me, concerned.
"Yeah I'm okay. I just needed to go to sleep a bit earlier than usually, I was feeling really tired." I look around me nervously, not wanting to face anyone today.
"You sure? You went really early to sleep if you didn't answer my message I sent you at seven!" Lauren looks suspicious.
"I messaged you too." Andrew butts in. I had seen all their messages in the morning. I didn't dare to look at my phone before that even though I fell asleep after midnight. All the thoughts kept me awake. They weren't the only ones to message me, Nick did too and so did my aunt. The only one I answered was Mimosa, I arranged a meeting with her for today after school. I need to speak to her.
"I noticed your messages first on the way to school." I pick up my bag and start trudging towards the class. Lauren, Alex and Andrew are walking behind me.
"You sure you're okay? Sure you don't need a little tickle?" Lauren pokes me in the ribs and I let out a smell yelp. She hit the cut. I had forgot about that one already. "Darling?" Lauren asks immediately.
"It's a small bruise, I walked into a table yesterday. You know how clumsy I can be when I read haha!" I laugh it off but Lauren seems suspicious for a while. But then she shrugs and let's it go.
"Yeah I do, you should look up from those books sometimes darling. Soon you'll walk and fall over a ledge." She laughs and I laugh too. I'm relieved that she let it go so easily.
"Ivy, I'm over here!" Mimosa gets my attention and waves from a back corner from the café. I wave back and take my cocoa. Warm chocolate is just the perfect thing on a cold day like this one in November.
"Hey, I'm glad you could make it." I sit down across from Mimosa who is holding a cup of coffee in her hand. She smiles and takes a sip.
"Of course! Why would I say no to my favourite niece. Well, my only niece. Your father is my only sibling and his only child is you. What did you want to talk about? Your message sounded a bit nervous and scared?" Mimosa looks at me, interested to hear what I have to say.
"Well..." Now that Mimosa was here and I was able to talk to her undisturbed I din't know what to say. The first note had said that I couldn't tell any adults about this but they had praised Mimosas secret help in the latest note. Could I tell Mimosa or not? Technically I was allowed to tell two people yet about these notes since Lauren and Alex were the only ones I had told.
"Oh! Before you say anything, I need to give you something. This was given to me to give to you. I don't know anything about it, just that I had to give it to you." Mimosas voice interrupts my thoughts and she searches after something in her bag. She finds it and gives it to me. It's a note. She winks at me and smiles letting me know she knows more than she shows right now.
"I wanted to ask you about these notes I've been getting." I speak slowly.
"Go on." Mimosa takes a better position and is ready to listen.
