"Thank you for taking a chance on this, I look forward to working with each of you," Alice said as she looked at the five prisoners. "Do you have any questions for me?"
"No Ma'am," one of the prisoners shook his head, "I just want to say thank you for giving us a chance."
"Of course, it's a win-win situation for everyone," Alice nodded, "just as long as you understand that you are the sole provider for the dog, the warden or other prisoners cannot care for it. It will be staying with you 24/7 until they are available for adoption."
"Yes Ma'am," the prisoners nodded.
"I have a question," another asked, "if our dog gets adopted, will we get another dog?"
"That will up the warden based on your conduct with the dog and how well the program is doing but in other prisons yes, I have worked with shelters to bring other dogs once previous ones have been adopted out. I've also come and retrieved dogs if the warden has proof of the dog not receiving proper car or training. Any other questions?"
"What about yard time and walks?" another prisoner asked.
"You will receive additional yard time so the dogs get the adequate exercise time, and they will accompany you on your yard time," the warden explained.
"In the beginning you will not be allowed to socialize with other prisoners and be in the yard until the dogs are acclimated to the new environment and routine," Alice explained, "but based on what I see and how training goes when I come up here weekly, you will eventually carefully introduce them to the yard with other prisoners. Each dog reacts differently so it won't be a group thing and will mainly depend on how training goes with you and ultimately your dog. Some dogs are good around large groups and some aren't, it's just depends. Right now it will be trail and error finding the right dogs for each of you and this environment."
"What about vet appointments?" another prisoner asked.
"My vet has agreed to come up here and if for some reason she can't, you will be transported to her clinic where I will be meet you and your guards," Alice explained.
"When will we get the dogs, Ma'am?" The first prisoner asked.
Just then an alarm went off and some loud clangs echoed off the walls. "Get down!" The warden yelled as shouting erupted around them. "Lock down!" Multiple shouts came closer as running was heard from everywhere. Some of the screams were in pain and others were in anger and chaos.
Alice felt herself being shoved to the ground then screamed when she felt her ankles being grabbed then her being pulled away from Raven who had pushed her to the ground when the riot first started. "NO!" She shouted as she tried to grab onto something. "NO!"
"KITTEN!" Raven shouted as he grabbed her wrist.
"LET GO!" the first prisoner shouted as he ran past Alice. She heard someone being tackled then the sound of flesh hitting flesh.
"GET DOWN NOW!" a guard shouted as shots rang through the room.
"NO! NO!" Alice shouted feeling multiple hands that she didn't recognize on her. "YEVGENY!"
"RAVEN?!?!" Two voices shouted from levels above them then more chaos erupted. They sounded Russian but she couldn't be sure from all the screaming.
"YEVGENY!" She shouted when she felt herself being grabbed up into a standing position and an arm around her throat. "NORTH! NATHAN!" She reached out for them but saw they were fighting prisoners that weren't from her group that she was talking to. Those prisoners were fighting other prisoners as more screams of pain bounced off the walls.
"Shut the hell up Bitch," the prisoner that had his arm around her throat growled into her ear. "Now you are going to get me the fuck out of here or this will severe your spine." She felt something press into her back and she gulped. "Although I may have some fun with you first, it's been a long time since I've seen such a pretty little thing." She felt him squeeze her into his body and bile filled her mouth.
"That's enough, Graves," the warden sudden as everything went suddenly went silent. Alice realized they were in a stand off and there was blood everywhere.
"No can do, Warden," he chuckled with malice, "this pretty little lass is my ticket out of here."
"You're not going anywhere with her," North glared as he clenched his fists.
"Da," Raven growled. "Let her go, I kill you. I professional Russian."
"Shut up, Raven," Silas mumbled. "Nathan?"
"I can't," Nathan mumbled back.
"Warden?" Owen asked as he tried to remain calm.
"I've got five down," the warden said. "That's all I know right now."
"Five officers, 23 prisoners, so far no casualties," Kota said looking around. "But you do need medical treatment for them."
Raven took a step toward her while a low growl erupted from his chest. "Don't Yevgeny," she gulped as she felt the tip of metal slice through her torn shirt and slightly into her skin.
"Raven," two voices said from the floor above them. They started talking in Russian and Raven took a step back towards North and Nathan.
"Atme tief durch und erinnere dich an das Training, das du mit Jasper gemacht hast. Ich verspreche, wir werden nicht zulassen, dass er dir weh tut. Wir brauchen dich nur, um Nathan eine Chance zu verschaffen, Baby. (Take a deep breath and remember the training you did with Jasper. I promise we won't let him hurt you. We just need you to get Nathan an opening, Baby.)" North said internally smiling when he saw a flash of anger flare up in her eyes.
„Dafür ist es zu spät. (Too late for that.)" She said as she tried to inhale a little which just resulted in him tightening his grip around her throat even more.
"What the fuck did you just say, Bitch?" Graves fumed as he slid the shank in a little more.
She took a deep breath then locked eyes with Nathan. Her mind cleared while Jasper and Jackson's faces came to her. "I said you messed with the wrong bitch," She threw herself forward just slightly while turning throwing him off balance and over her hip side. She felt the shank slice all across her lower back but she didn't focus on that. She knew it wasn't the correct hip throw that Jasper had been working on her with but it was enough that she was able to twist his arm and slam her foot onto his neck.
"I got him," Nathan gasped as he grabbed him just as Graves shot up, knocking her to the ground. Her head hit the edge of the seat causing spots to cloud her vision.
"Don't you close those eyes," North demanded as he fell to her side. "Look at me, Baby."
"Not your—" she mumbled as she succumbed to the darkness.
