Chapter 27

"Hey Alice?"

She looked away from where she was brushing Jack's mane to see Luke heading her way while wiping the sweat off his face with his shirt he had removed. "Lucian," she said politely as she went back to brushing Jack's mane.

"How's the puppy adjusting?"

"Red is doing fine so far, thank you for asking," she said as she patted Jack's neck calming him down since he had started pawing at the ground. "It's fine Jack, I'm okay."

"Where's Jackson and Jasper?" he asked curiously while looking around.

"Working," she said as she watched Jack watch Luke. "Jackson is in the kitchen trying out a new recipe and Jasper is in the gym working out for new routine for the base." She sighed, "well, I need to let Red out into the yard." She patted Jack's body and he took off running into the fields.

"Do you need any help?" he asked.

"No, thank you," she said shaking her head. "Besides I'm sure you are needed around the ranch."

"I'm done with all my chores right now," he shook his head. "Besides we told you we will help if you need anything."

"Hey Boss!" They turned to see Andrew storming over to them. "That damn beast broke the fucking fence AGAIN! He's trouble!" He pointed at Alice, "You need to put that beast down before he kills someone!"

"And you need to shut your goddamn mouth before I make you," she glared back at him. "I've told you not to talk about my horse like that!"

"You can't do shit to me," he glared down at her. "I can break you like twig."

"Did you just threaten me?" she asked shocked.

"And what if I did?" He smirked. "What are you going to do about it?"

"You're fired, get off my ranch immediately," she glared as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"You aren't my boss, you can't fire me," he smirked. "Nice try though Little Girl."

"I own the ranch, so yes, this little girl can, and I just did. You have one minute to get off my ranch or you will be forced off the property," she glared.

"And if I don't?" He asked through clenched teeth. His skin was getting redder by the second and his fists were clenched.

"You will leave by force then," she said not phased one bit as he took another step towards her.

"I'd like to see you try," he seethed.

"Jack!" she screamed with a smirk on her lips.

Within seconds the black horse came racing towards her and neighed loudly as he reared up on his hind legs and kicked in the air above Andrew. He dropped to the ground and in doing so his legs kicked her in the shins. She dropped to the ground, screaming as her knee twisted and the air left her lungs.

"CUPCAKE!" Luke screamed as he jumped over the fence and raced over to her.

Both her screams and Luke's, plus Jack's loud neighing caused the rest of the Blackbourne Toma team plus Jackson and Jasper running towards them.

"Whoa!" Silas tried calling to calm Jack down as he stood over Alice and kept kicking Andrew. "Whoa Jack, whoa!"

"Get that fucker off the ranch NOW!" Luke shouted to the men. "He threatened and kicked Alice!"

"Shit she's bleeding!" Sean screamed as the ground under her became wet and red.

"Jack, let me get Alice!" Jackson yelled as he held his hands up.

"Keep talking to him," Jasper said analyzing the surroundings.

"Jack, let me get to Alice and get her help," Jackson tried again.

"Jack," Alice sobbed, "Please, I want Jackson and Jasper."

Jack stomped on Andrew one more time then stepped just far enough that Jasper rushed over, scooped her up then rushed back to where Sean was.

"Her stitches ripped open," he said lifting her shirt. He yanked his off and pressed it to her back.

"My knee," she said through clenched teeth. "Owww..."

"Let's get her to the hospital," Sean said as Jasper stood carefully.

"What the FUCK happened?!?!" North and Raven shouted.

"She fired Andrew and he didn't take it too well," Luke growled. "He threatened her and when she didn't back down he pushed it too far and she yelled for Jack. Jack reared up and Andrew dropped, in doing so he kicked Alice and she twisted her knee when she fell."

Raven started muttering in Russian while North clenched his fists and started muttering in Greek.

"Did Jack—" Sean started to ask.

"He's still alive but barely," Kota said looking down on him.

"I'll drop him at the hospital, but I'll have someone else treat him," Sean sighed.

"I'll get the MP's involved," Jasper sighed. "They don't take too well to our significant others being threatened and harmed."
