"I know you aren't talking about Jack," Alice frowned watching him.
"Yeah, I am," he glared at her, "that beast needs to be put down."
"Say that again and you won't have a job here anymore," Alice glared standing to face him.
"You can't do shit," he glared back, "you aren't my boss."
"This is MY ranch so yeah I am your boss," she refused to back down, "and you obviously don't believe in my grandparent's belief if you think an animal needs to be put down just because they are stubborn."
"He is feral and almost killed multiple men here!" he shouted at her. "You don't know shit about what goes on here. Just go ahead and leave again already."
"That's enough Andrew," Owen said shaking his head.
"No Boss, why is she here anyway?" He asked crossing his arms. "She hasn't been here once in the three years I've been here. She doesn't know anything about how this place is ran."
"I know more about this ranch then you ever will, let's get that straightened out right now," she fumed. "Now let me explain something to you buddy. That horse was here before those idiots were, so he has claimed the rightful position of alpha on this ranch. He was also beaten and starved by men so that gives him the right to not trust any man. I was the one who earned his trust and nursed him back to health even when the vet thought he wouldn't make it. That horse is not feral and until you prove yourself to him, he will never trust you. I earned that right, ME, not them, that's why I can get him to listen to me. As for them? I left because those men," she pointed to the Blackbourne Toma men, "cheated on me, lied to me, and broke my heart and soul. I left to repair myself and I actually had the chance get them fired and removed from the ranch, but I didn't. Instead, I told my grandparents to let them keep working here because they were good with the horses and helped my family. Just because they were assholes to me doesn't mean I should deprive MY family of good help. I chose to be BETTER than them so I suggest you shut YOUR fucking mouth about shit you know NOTHING about because if it weren't for ME you wouldn't have the bosses you have right now. And FYI you little prick, just because I stayed away doesn't mean I don't know what goes around here. I still spoke to my grandmother constantly and I know how to run this place better than them. So, unless you no longer want a job, I suggest you learn how to take orders from a woman, keep your goddamn mouth shut about shit you know nothing about, and stay the fuck away from my goddamn horse." She pointed to the door and snapped her fingers, "YOU will be cleaning out ALL the stalls on this ranch and then take care of the fertilizer and compost because I know they need to be taken care of and repairs need to be made. Now get out of my sight."
"You aren't my boss," he stared her down.
"She is," Owen said nodding, "she's our boss which makes her your boss."
"This is BULLSHIT!" he shouted as he waved his arms out in anger.
"If you want to stay here, I suggest you get the fuck out of my house right now and go do your job."
Andrew stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind him making the windows shake.
"Damn Cupcake that was..." Luke whistled then went silent as she turned her anger on him.
"I am NOT your cupcake," she seethed as she crossed her arms and shifted her weight to her left leg.
"Sorry," he sighed.
"Come on Sugar, let's get you calmed down," Jackson said rubbing his hands up and down on her arms. "Let's go get some of that anger out."
"Yes Sir," she nodded taking a deep breath and sighing heavily.
"I'll supervise," Jasper nodded as he grabbed some water bottles out of the fridge.
"The gym is this way unless they changed it," She mumbled.
"It's in the same spot," Nathan said calmly.
Jackson and Jasper followed her out to the building next to the house. "Nice," Jackson said as he looked around. "Go change, Alice." Once she came back to them in black leggings, white sports bra and tank, and her hair pulled up in a bun.
"Warm up," Jasper commanded as Jackson went to go change. He watched as she grabbed a jump rope and began working out. When Jackson came back Alice got into the boxing ring with Jackson following through. "Make sure you focus on your breathing, Pet."
"Yes Sir," Alice said before sliding the mouth guard in.
Jasper watched they worked around the ring he heard the door open but kept his eyes on the ring as multiple footsteps approached. About an hour later he frowned. "Breathe, Alice," Jasper said as he leaned on the ropes. "You can't hit him with everything you got if you don't have enough air in your lungs. Use your legs, kick. Damn it kick, Alice." He huffed, "Break."
Alice dropped and laid on the mat, Jackson bent down and removed her mouthguard, "Feel better, Pet?" She nodded while gasping and he smiled, "Good. You did good, Pet."
"Thanks, Master," she smiled softly as Jasper knelt over her.
"You are getting better, Pet," he nodded, "but we have got to work on your breathing. It gets you every time. But you are definitely getting better, Pet."
"Thank you, Master," she gasped as he pulled her into a sitting position. He handed her a water bottle and she took a drink.
"Come on, let's get you cleaned up," Jackson smiled as he pulled her up to stand.
She ignored the men watching as she walked past them and headed back to the house. She took a shower then headed to her grandparent's office. She sat at the desk and powered on the computer. Taking a deep breath, she opened some programs and began reading everything on the files.
