"Nope," she smirked as she walked over to him. She kissed his cheek then smiled, "They were just getting rid of an ex employee that refused to leave. He got his feelings hurt because I wouldn't let him take charge nor put up with him being mean to my animals or me." She hugged him, "but it doesn't matter anymore. Anyway, ready to go?"
"You know I am going to be checking the cameras, right?" He asked as he followed her out to his car.
"I know," she nodded as she got in the passenger seat. "Oh wait!" she shouted as she got out of the car again. "I have to go make Zero's bottles."
"I can do it," Silas said as he watched her. "Go do what you need to. I'll make sure everything gets taken care of that you delegated."
"Okay," she nodded then pointed her finger at him, "it better."
"Everything will be done to your standards, I promise."
She beamed, "Good." She got back in the car and buckled up.
"That was interesting," Dr. Roberts said as he pulled out of the driveway. "Wanna talk about it?"
"No," she shook her head. "Just getting back into the swing of things. Or trying anyway."
"Good," Dr. Roberts nodded as he continued driving. "And your appetite?"
"Slowly getting there," she answered honestly. "Still hard though."
"But you are trying," he said, "that's what matters."
The hours went by and there was no sign of Alice coming home. She wasn't answering her phone for anyone, and neither was Dr. Roberts, both just went straight to voicemail.
"Do you think something has happened?" Gabe asked as he watched Jackson and North work together to make dinner.
"Alright, there you go back home safe and sound," Dr. Roberts voice filtered in from the front door.
"Thank you," Alice giggled as the men came into the foyer.
"Now, make sure you eat your dinner," Dr. Roberts said as he gently took her jacket off her and hung it up in the closet. The men spotted the wrap around her elbow, letting them know that he had drawn her blood sometime that day.
"Oh, I want," her eyes glistened as she thought about food, "um a taco salad in a crunchy bowl and some refried beans and taco meat and cheese and lettuce and those red spicy crunchy strips," she clapped her hands excitedly, "oh and Taco Bell mild sauce."
"Alright, since you were such a good patient, I will order it for you," Dr. Roberts smiled. "Go get some comfy clothes on."
"Yep, got it," she said as she turned then gasped, "Holy shit you are too silent," she glared at the group then pointed her finger at them, "no more being silent!"
"Are you drunk?" North asked crossing his arms over his chest.
"No," she said blatantly, "just tipsy and I deserve it."
"Alright," Jasper smirked, "and why do you deserve it?"
"Because I was a good patient," she said like it was obvious, "didn't you hear Doc with your super hearing skills?"
"Yes, but I want to hear it from you," he chuckled. "What did you do today with the doc?"
"I'll have you know I did a bunch," she said as she started climbing the stairs.
"Oh yeah, like what?" Jasper smirked as North shook his head.
Alice thought about it for a minute then plopped down on the stairs, "I didn't complain not once during my check up, not once!" She glared at him and crossed her arms over her chest, "I didn't even cry when he stole my blood to run his stupid tests even though he ran like a million of them!"
"Oh really? That many?" Brandon chuckled.
"Obviously not that many, Brandon," she rolled her eyes, "just felt like it because he was saying a bunch of things I didn't really understand, duh."
"Well, I'm proud of you for not crying," Jasper chuckled. "You should have told us and we would have gone with you. You could have held my hand and squeezed it really tight."
"No," she shook her head, "I am a grown ass woman, I can go to the doctor all by myself. Besides I gave you jobs to do, you can't be at two places at once."
"I'll make her a taco salad, Doc," North grumbled as he watched Dr. Roberts answer a phone call. "We'll make sure she eats."
"Okay, I'll call her tomorrow with the results," he mumbled as he went back to his call while leaving.
"No, but some of us could have taken over the jobs so a few of us could go with you for support," Jasper pressed as he nudged her with his shoulder.
"No," she shook her head, "I gave you pacific...spefic...damn it you know what I mean," she growled as she stood. "Whoa," she clutched the railing, "knew I shouldn't have had that fifth shot," she mumbled. "Do your damn jobs, I'm going my nice comfy bed. Fucking stupid stairs."
"Alright, Meine Liebe," Jasper said as he wrapped his arm around her waist, "I got the message, you're the boss, I obey you."
"Damn straight," she grumbled. "I boss."
"Yes, you are," Jasper chuckled. "Now let's get you into some nice comfy clothes, Meine Liebe."
"I miss my names," she pouted as she leaned into him some more. "All them."
"We miss calling you them," he said honestly. "We miss you being ours."
"Hate me," she pouted.
"We don't hate you," he said as he opened her door and sat her on the bed. "I promise, Love. We love you, Alice."
"No, you don't," she mumbled as he slowly lifted her shirt up. "Mad me hurt you."
"Here," Gabe said as he came into the room. He held out a shirt for Jasper to take.
"Change her, I'm going to get her some shorts."
"Arms up, Trouble," Gabe said as he knelt in front of her. "And just so you know we do love you, all of us do. We aren't mad at you, we're mad at ourselves for hurting you."
"Who you?" She squinted at him. She cupped his cheek, "Gabe cusses you not cussing. You not Gabe."
Gabe chuckled, "I'm still your Meanie, I just don't feel like cussing right now."
"Jasper something wrong with Gabe," she called out, "fix him!"
"Oy, I'm not fucking broke," Gabe chuckled, "now lift your damn hips so you can put on your pajamas."
"There's my Gabe," she giggled as she laid back on the bed.
"Yes, I'm your Gabe," he rolled his eyes, "we are all yours and you are ours, got it?"
As Gabe slid her over her hips, Jackson entered the room, "Answer him, Cuore Mio."
