"Let me get this straight- you were kidnapped, weeks ago, locked up. Cass, I just talked to you on the phone."
"No. No. Asmodeus had my phone. You've been talking to him."
I looked over from the other side of the room where Maddie, Zep and I were playing a board game. Sam, Dean and Cass were standing by the door while Cass filled us in on what happened to him.
"What did he want with you?" Sam asked.
"Well, he must have wanted Lucifer. I just, I just happened to be in proximity."
My heart dropped in my chest.
"Mom, it's your turn," Zep drew my attention back to the game.
I picked up a card, moving my game piece accordingly while still listening to the conversation.
"Lucifer?" Sam echoed. "No, no."
"No, no, we slammed his ass back to the Apocalypse World," Dean chimed in. "How did-"
"Kevin Tran," Cass replied.
"Kevin Tran," I echoed, looking over.
"Apocalypse World version, yes," Cass nodded, looking back at me. "We managed to open a rift using Lucifer's grace."
"They have an angel tablet?" Sam assumed.
"Yes. And the archangel, Michael, again the Apocalypse World version, wants to use the spell to invade and conquer our world. That's why I met with Lucifer."
"So... You met... Cass, I specifically told you not to do anything stupid," Dean glared at the angel.
"Well, he was weak and given the context of our imminent annihilation it didn't seem stupid," Cass defended himself. "Lucifer wanted to help fight Michael."
"Mom," Zep got my attention again to take my turn.
"Oh yeah," Sam nodded sarcastically, rolling his eyes, "Lucifer wanted to help, sure."
"If he were lying I would have known it," Cass insisted. "He was, he was scared. But Asmodeus showed up before we could finish our conversation and when we finally managed to escape Lucifer tried to kill me."
"Oh, so much for helping," Dean rolled his eyes.
"He say anything about my mom?" I called over.
"She's alive. That's all I know. I'm sorry."
⁘
We recruited Donatello to read the demon tablet to see if there was something about the spell Apocalypse World Kevin used to open a rift since we didn't have the angel tablet anymore. We were also planning on nabbing Lucifer, hoping he was still weak like Cass claimed, and using his grace to do the spell. Cass then heard from angel radio that an angel's vessel was found mutilated. When we looked into it, in addition to having something blunt driven through his body, the angel- a cupid- had a slit in his neck which meant Lucifer fed on his grace.
We learned where Lucifer's next stop was, and headed to Elgin Hall, weapons drawn.
"Hehe, it's only you," Ketch rolled his eyes.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I snarled.
"Do we really have to do all this again? Last time we were together, I saved your lives and you shot me. Doesn't that make us even?"
"No, I guess not."
"Ellie asked you a question," Dean snapped. "What are you doing here?"
"My sources tell me Lucifer is back, he's weak and he is, or was, in this wonderful little slice of Americana. I was going to try and kill him. As were you, I assume."
"Okay, who are you working for?" Sam demanded.
"Isn't it possible that I am simply trying to strike a blow for the good of humanity?" Ketch looked around at us.
"No," Cass shook his head. "That's not possible."
"Truth be told, taking out Lucifer would be an enormous feather in the cap. My business model is very, um, word of mouth."
"Alright, so if Lucifer isn't here, where is he?" Sam asked.
"Ah, excellent question," Ketch smirked. "I propose we team up. Cover more ground? Hm? Huzzah!"
Cass reached out, touching Ketch's forehead and knocking him out. He and Dean then worked together to load Ketch into the trunk of Baby.
"Alright, I say we take dickbag back to the Bunker and find out what he knows, put a bullet in him, and burn his bones and flush his ashes," I proposed.
"I like that plan," Dean nodded in agreement.
"Hey, check this out," Sam got our attention.
He showed us a video of Sister Jo, a pretty redheaded woman and the supposed faith healer that was working in Elgin Hall. She had a pair of black wings on her back.
"That's Sister Jo, the faith healer?" Dean asked.
"No, that's not a- she's an angel," I corrected.
"Her name is Anael," Cass added.
"Alright, so say Lucifer drained her and killed her," Sam said. "Where's her body?"
As we were heading down the road in the Impala, Sam got an alert on his phone.
"No way."
"What you got?" Dean asked.
"So, I set up an alert up on my phone. It looks like Sister Jo just used her credit card."
"Where?" I asked.
⁘
When we arrived at the motel whoever used Sister Jo's card checked into, Sam called the room and lied about the system being messed up, so she came out to head to the office. However, Cass stepped out and stopped her before she could get all the way there.
"Anael," he greeted her.
"Castiel. What are you doing here?" she asked.
"We're going to ask you the same thing," Dean said.
He, Sam and I joined the angels in the parking lot.
"We're looking for Lucifer," I added. "Have you seen him? Do you know where he is?"
"Yes, he's in the room."
"Has he hurt you?" Cass asked her.
"Not yet," she shook her head. "He's threatened. He wants to drain my grace."
"So he's still weak?" Sam questioned.
"Very. You have to help me."
"We will," Dean assured her. "But first you're going to have to help us."
Sister Jo led us back to the room, getting Lucifer to open the door before we barged inside.
"Morning, sunshine," Dean greeted him.
"Sup, gents. Ecclesia. He-he-hey... ah... oh Cass... You're alive. That's awesome."
"They made me," Sister Jo addressed Lucifer. "They forced me to tell them how weak you still are."
I narrowed my eyes as something flashed in Lucifer's eyes, and he looked back at the boys and I.
"Well, great seeing you," he stated. "It's been a long time. Eh, nice jacket there, Dean. Your hair, Sam, it's magnificent. Is that a leave-in conditioner you have there?"
"We got this," Sam told Sister Jo. "Go."
"So, what do we do now?" Lucifer asked. "You gonna kill me?"
"Mm, eventually," Dean held up the pair of angel cuffs.
Just then, Sister Jo attacked Sam and I while Lucifer took out Dean and Cass.
"We need to go," Sister Jo told Lucifer.
"I just want to enjoy this for one minute."
Lucifer made a fist, squeezing us.
"That's good. That's really good."
Ketch appeared in the doorway with a demon bomb, and Lucifer and Sister Jo vanished from the room.
