"Nick- he's trying to resurrect Lucifer," I informed my mom over the phone while Dean tended to Sam.
"How?"
"I don't know. I don't know," I shook my head. "He played us."
"We have to stop him," Jack said.
"Yeah, well, we don't even know where he is, okay? And he hurt Sam. He got him in the head. Dean and I don't even want to move him. We called an ambulance, but they said twenty minutes. It's not good, Mom. It's really bad."
"We're on our way," my mom reassured me.
I hung up, looking down at Sam and Dean with tears in my eyes.
"Hey. Hey," Dean was talking to Sam, trying to save him while we waited for the ambulance. "Stay with me now. We're just gonna play a little game. We're gonna count, okay? We're gonna count. Count with me. One... two..."
"Two," Sam said with him.
"Yeah, there you go," Dean smiled a little. "...Three."
"You- you always put- You always put me first," Sam gasped out.
"No, no. Shh, shh. Come on. Come on, man."
"Your whole life."
"Okay. Alright. Alright. Come on. Come on. Just count with me," Dean told him. "Sammy. Hey! Sam!"
Dean and I were both crying as Sam started to go limp against the side of the Impala. Suddenly, Jack appeared nearby.
"Dean? Ellie? Sam."
Jack rushed over to Sam and healed him with his powers.
"Nick," Sam gasped when he came to. "Where's Nick?"
"I stopped him," Jack replied. "It's over."
"What about my mom?" I asked. "And Maddie and Zep?"
"They're fine. Everything's gonna be fine."
With a flap of his wings, he disappeared once more.
"Alright. We gotta get out of here."
The brothers nodded, Dean helping Sam to his feet. We got into the Impala, heading back to the Bunker.
"Mom! Mom?" I called out. "Jack? Mom? Hey, Jack?"
"Jack? Jack?" Sam called out as well, he and Dean helping search.
"Yo, anybody here?" Dean asked, checking down the hall.
"Maddie? Zep? Jack?" I tried again, joining the brothers back in the map room. "Nothing."
"They probably just stopped for a bite on the way back," Dean shrugged. "You know how Emilie gets after a hunt."
"Yeah," I muttered absentmindedly, pulling out my phone to call her.
Her cell phone began to ring on the other table next to her bag.
"Looks like they left in a hurry," Dean observed.
"Try Jack," Sam suggested.
I did, but it went straight to voicemail. I started to really freak out, then, a thousand different worst-case scenarios running through my head.
"Ellie? Ellie," Sam tried to get my attention, grabbing my arm. "We'll find them. It'll be okay."
I gave no indication I'd heard him, frozen in place as I continued to run through different scenarios. A warm, comforting presence suddenly overtook my senses and I looked up at a familiar pair of green eyes.
