A week later, Amos showed up at the Bunker.

"Dean, Eleanor. We should talk."

We made our way into the library where we were joined by Sam and Jack.

"My brother has returned," Amos said. "That means it's time."

"Did he contact you?" Sam asked.

"He's made himself known. How do you intend to cage him? When God caged me, he had four archangels. Do you have four archangels?"

"Nope," I shook my head. "We have one Jack."

Amos hesitated, staring at Jack.

"I wish we'd gotten to know each other," he said. "That's my fault. Maybe when all this is over, we can?"

"He's been juicing himself up, getting stronger," Dean interrupted before Jack could answer.

"But I need to complete a final ritual," Jack said.

"What do you need me to do?" Amos asked.

After filling him in on the plan, I walked him out while Dean, Sam and Jack stayed behind.

"Just want to let you know, you are saving our asses here," I told him. "You're saving the whole world's ass."

"I haven't saved anything yet," Amos replied.

"But when the time comes, we can count on you, right?"

"Like I told you when we first met," he smirked, "you and I will always help each other."

With that, he vanished, leaving me alone. When I got back into the library, Jack had disappeared and Sam and Dean were arguing.

"What do you have, Dean? Honestly?! What, Billie's sending you to Santa Fe to... to meet up with her mystery guest that's gonna perform the 'final ritual', or whatever that is, and turn Jack into a suicide bomb?!"

"Sam, you, me, and Ellie, we have to do this, it's in the book!"

"Oh, Chuck's 'Death Book', right? Come on, man! Blindly following orders?! Lying to Amos, sending him to his death?! Does any of this feel right to you?!"

"It doesn't matter how we feel! You know what? Stay. Stay. But somebody's gotta be the grownup here."

"Yeah, well, someone has to keep fighting for Jack."

"He knows what he signed up for!"

"Last I checked, we don't give up on family."

"Jack's not family. I know how you and Ellie feel about the kid, okay. I care for him, too. I do. But he's not like you. He's not like Cass. He's not like Ellie. He's just not."

In a horrific display of bad timing, Jack returned with his bag just in time to hear Dean's last statement.

"I'm... I'm ready," he stammered.

"Well, then, let's hit the road," Dean said coldly, then looked at me. "You staying or coming?"

I opened my mouth, staring from him to Sam and back.

"S-staying."

Dean's expression remained hard as he pushed past me to leave, Jack looking hopelessly at Sam and I before following him down the hall. Later that night, Cass returned to the Bunker to find Sam and I.

"Sam, Eleanor. Stayed behind to find another way, huh? I would've done the same."

Amos's POV

"Hey, bro," Chuck came up to me.

I was sitting on a bench in a woodland park when he had interrupted me.
