"Sammy! Sammy!" Dean yelled, looking around for his brother. "What just happened?"

"I don't know," Cass shook his head.

"The Devil won," Michael spoke up. "That's what happened."

"How do we stop him?" I asked.

"You don't. After consuming the Nephilim's grace, Lucifer's juiced up. He's super-charged. He'll kill the boy, your brother. Hell, he could end the whole universe if he put his mind to it. And you thought I was bad."

"No. No, you beat him," Dean protested. "I saw you."

"When he was weaker and I was stronger. Believe me, I'd love to rip my brother apart. But now, in this banged up meat suit... not happening. This is the end, of everything."

"No, what if..." Dean swallowed, "what if you had your sword?"

"Dean, no," I protested.

"I am your sword," Dean continued, ignoring me. "Your perfect vessel. With me, you'd be stronger than you've ever been."

"Oh, I know what you are," Michael replied.

"If we work together, can we beat Lucifer?"

"Dean," I tried to stop him again.

"Can we?!" Dean asked louder.

"We'd have a chance," the archangel confirmed.

"Dean, you can't," I told him, grabbing his arm.

"Lucifer has Sam," Dean said, looking at me. "He has Jack. Ellie, I don't have a choice!"

"Please," I whispered, tears in my eyes as I stared back at him.

Instead of answering, Dean shook me off, looking back at Michael.

"If we do this, it's a one-time deal. I'm in charge. You're the engine, but I'm behind the wheel. Understand?"

Michael nodded his head once.

"Then, yes."

"Dean!"

Cass moved forward, pulling me back as Michael left the beat up vessel and possessed Dean instead. I felt a scream rip from my throat as the blue light surrounded my husband and he disappeared with a flap of the white wings.

"No! Dean!"

"Eleanor," Cass's deep baritone sounded in my ear.

I collapsed back into his arms, tears flowing freely down my face as he guided me gently down to sit on the step leading from the hall into the map room. I was vaguely aware of footsteps as others joined us and Cass shook his head at them, not saying a word, but I was too busy sobbing to register anything else.
