Y/N pov:

Since the Metal Virus started I have gone on multiple missions to help evacuate towns. Whisper was supposed to help guard the base, but whenever any zombots would get close to me, I'd see a blue laser hit them. When I look to where the laser came from, I'll see a black cloak retreating behind buildings, or any other kind of cover. I wanted to bring it up with her, but I knew she'd say she was never there. She seemed more reserved than usual. Whisper never wanted to talk and was always hyper focused on something.

I'm worried about her...

Especially worried today, she was always there when I was on missions, which I didn't really mind, but today I hadn't seen her or her wispon shots. Today wasn't anything special to be honest, me and a small group of idiots were looking around for scrap, survivors, and maybe even some food if we're lucky. I say they're idiots, but they were practically my best friends. Two of them were extroverted and very loud, and they say whatever comes to mind, which is usually something really wierd, while the other one was much more quiet and reserved, kinda like Whisper, but hes not afraid to tell people his opinion. He usually only spoke to tell them how wierd they are.

"... And thats why Genghis Kahn is the true first harem protagonist!" (If you know, you know.) I hear one of them say. The quiet one looks at him with a face of pure disappointment. "What is wrong with you?" He smiles widely. "A lot of things, my friend!" I laugh a bit, still thinking about Whisper. The other extroverted one looks at me. "You having a good time in that head of yours bud?"

I look at him, "yea, sorry, I'm just a bit lost in thought." "He's upset because his darling hasn't come to save him yet!" They all laugh. "Hardy har." I flip them the bird, and they laugh more. After a while, we find some food And a bit of scrap metal to bring back for repairs.

We get back to Restoration HQ, and I immediately go to Whispers room, she's not there. I look around for her a bit more, I still can't find her. I decide to go ask Amy if she went of a mission. I find her in the cafeteria, slowly eating a sandwich, she looks worn out. "Amy, you know where Whisper is?" She looks up and I see her eyes, there are bags under them. "Yea, she went with Tangle to back up Tails so he can get some vital data from his house, and evacuate Central City..." I sit down next to her. "Thanks, are you ok?" She looks surprised I asked. "Y-yes, just tired, it's been busy these past few days..." "yea, I get it, when was the last time you slept a full 8 hours?" She looks up, as if thinking. "When did all this start again?" "About a week ago." She chuckles a bit. "That long..."

I look at her, concerned. "You should get someone else to run things for a bit, so you can relax..." She looks like she's thinking on the answer she wants to give. "I can't, I need to keep helping." I stand up, still looking at her. "Tell me something, what good are you as a commander if you're too delirious to command?" She thinks it over again. "Fine, I'll get Lanolin to cover things, I'll take a quick rest, but then it's right back to it." I smile to her. "I wouldn't expect anything less, Madame Commander!"
She smiles and looks at a teapot in front of her, "Want some tea? It's Vanilla's recipe." I smile. "Sure, couldn't hurt." I take a cup and get some tea.

We talk about current events, then she looks me dead in the eyes. "How do you do it?" I'm extremely confused. "Do what?" She looks back at her tea. "Remain so cheerful, optimistic and level headed during all this." I smile and lean in a bit. "I believe that if you lay down and let yourself die, it's not a death worth dying, if I try to live, to survive, so that I may help others do the same, even if I do die, I can say helped others live, and besides, if you got a funky and pessimistic headspace that's a deathwish in and of itself. So I stay positive, so that you can too." I point to her, and she smiles. "Well, your doing a pretty good job at inspiring, you would make a great motivational speaker!" I laugh at that, and we talk a bit more.

Eventually she smiles to me and slowly walks off to her room. In all that, I didn't realize how tired I was, it couldn't hurt for me to rest a bit too. I finish my tea and grab a banana from the counter, eating it on my way to my room. When I get there I take a shower, and lay in my bed, slowly drifting off, i forget how much i enjoy the little things as I feel how comfy my bed is. All of a sudden I hear a loud piercing voice from outside my room.
