Clara anxiously waited for her phone to light up again as she was reread the ending for Feed. It wasn't supposed to end like this, this isn't how a book should ever end.

Oliver: Did you finish it already?

Clara: Yes... I regret the decision of reading it now.

Oliver: If I hadn't had already read it several times I'd say you were being melodramatic. You need to read the next one. It fixes everything.

Clara: I don't know if I trust it not to play with my emotions.

Oliver: Ha! Trust me then, it'll fix it.

Clara frowned at the next book in the series that was sitting on the end table next to her bed. Sitting in her fuzzy plaid pajama pants with a cup of warm tea she had enjoyed the thought that tonight would be a relaxing night in her dorm room, her roommate had left for the weekend and for once in her college life Clara had actually finished all homework before the weekend.

Instead, here she was. Her relaxing night was gone and in it's place she was anxious to read the next book.

Oliver: Are you going to read it?

Clara: I haven't actually decided if it's a good idea.

Oliver: The way I see it you have one of two options.

Oliver didn't elaborate and Clara's curiosity caused her to respond quicker than she normally would.

Clara: And what might those options be?

Oliver: I thought you'd never ask.

Oliver: You have Option One: You could put down these wonderfully written pieces of art and never pick them up again. (Something I think will one day be a regret but if it's what makes you happy do that).

Oliver: Or you have Option Two: (The one I think you should pick) You could put down Feed and pick up Deadline. From there you read the book and you continue to let it change your life and view of zombies. Then tomorrow you meet me at the library where I have taken up a permanent residence and we discuss the trails of life and zombies over a coffee on me.

Clara: What if I don't finish it in time to discuss it with you.

Oliver: So you're going with option two? (Good choice) There are probably other things we can discuss, like the weather or something as equally as normal and boring then zombies.

Clara smiled and butterflies seemed to flutter in her stomach.

Clara: I should be free around two.

Oliver: It's a date.

Locking her phone and plugging it in Clara tried to get ready for bed. She brushed her teeth, washed her face, antagonized over what she would wear, and finally gave up and tried to go to sleep.

After 30 minutes of lying in bed staring up at the ceiling she gave in and turning on her end table lamp began reading Deadline.
