Oliver tried to not feel like a complete creep as he watched her close up shop for the night. Tried not to imagine all the things he wished he could say to her or all the missed opportunities they were going to possibly have if his plan didn't work out.
Instead he tried to focus on everything else that he had to get done.
1. Make sure that Jennifer wasn't at his apartment when he got home.
2. Finish his thesis
3. Apologize to Clara
4. Figure out how to fix it all
Four things. That was less than a handful of things and if it all went smoothly tonight then life would be grand. After talking to Max earlier in the library Oliver felt refreshed and like he was James Bond. On a mission of life or death, at least where his heart was concerned. Part one of fixing it all was already in place and if she would listen to him instead of ignoring all of his calls apologizing would be checked off as well.
It took her thirty minutes to completely close down the store, vacuum, and lock up and he was leaning against the wall near the door when she finally immerged.
As she slid the keys into her pocket her eyes met his. "Oliver," his name a whisper from her lips.
