Jake turned. "Mom?"
Emiliya smiled. "Welcome home, son."
"Dad said you disappeared in China."
"I did," Emiliya agreed. "The war was very different. When Mao's army took fought the Chinese nationalists, I couldn't escape out of the country – so I went across the border into Russia. I eventually made it here. You were too young to remember, but I found Mac and handed you over the barbwire. Indiana Jones can verify these things."
Jake glanced at his mother's NKVD officers leading Shannon McGuire away. "What will happen to her?"
"The gulag. Perhaps she will find some other man to mistress to. The NKVD and gulag prison systems are full of corruption." Emiliya looked at her son. "Why are you filthy with sewage?"
"Emily Jones threw me over her shoulder into the sewer water."
Emiliya smiled. "She is her father's daughter. This is good."
"I lost her, Mom."
Emiliya laughed. "You never had her. You aren't man enough to handle a woman like her."
"Control Emily?" Jake asked.
"No. Its not about control. Its about love and choosing to love, Jake." Emiliya looked at Riley Dawson's corpse. "He chose control. Indiana Jones chose to raise his daughter, Emily with love, courage and loyalty. He taught her skills and is giving her the space and the faith that she'll use them well."
"I have those things too."
"But you haven't learned to use them," Emiliya smiled. "You will though. Come on. It's time for me to finish the trip back to your father."
