Indy picked Laurel up, holding her out in front of him, eye to eye. "Honey, let go of me or come with me. I can't leave Em over there!"
Laurel latched onto Indy's neck. "Let's go!" she cheered.
Indy stared at the child for a split second. He'd been hoping that she would stay... but it was too much. Her little grinning face was primed for adventure. "I love you." He plunked his hat on her head. "Stay here. I'll be back. I always come back for my hat."
