Chapter 22

   when I got downstairs, I looked up toward the stairs and began to cry. Offset walked toward me and hugged me. A minute later the cops showed up.

   "Baby, tell the truth." Takeoff said, rubbing my back, as I sat on the couch.

   "First of all, why r u living here.?" The first cop said, with his hands on his hips.

   "Takeoff is my boyfriend." I answered, he shook his head. Then looked at Takeoff.

   "Ok, so tell me, what happened.?" The second cop asked, holding pen and paper in his hand.

   "Ok, so me and my friend Tonice was in my room and Takeoff come in and said he'll be back. Then there was a car in the driveway, we got in the closet. After a while, they came in the room, pulled us out the closet and Wade, whatever his name is. Pulled a gun out of me, but I pulled it and broke it." I said, pointing over toward Wade.
  "I have the right to remain silence. Anything u do or say can be used against u in the state of law." The cop said, arresting Wade and his friends then thanking me for my time and then leaving.

    "I'm tired." I said, letting a tear fell down the face, I whipped it and got up. Takeoff grabbed my hand, pulled in and hugged me.

   "It's ok, baby." Takeoff said, rubbing my back, he picked me up, I put my head on his chest and, when we got in the room and placed me in the bed.

   "I'm sorry." I said, as Takeoff laid me in the bed then got in next to me. He pulled me in, kissed my cheek and told me to get some rest.

   That morning, when I got up, Takeoff was gone. I went to Offset's room and Tonice was still sleeping, but Offset was gone.

   "Hey, Chris." Tonice said, opening her eyes slowly. I waved at her then walked out. Tonice got out of bed and started to follow me around the house.

   "Where's Offset and Takeoff.?" I asked, turning around, facing Tonice.

   "I don't know." Tonice said, "But I think its crazy how, they left us, after that Wade guy."

   "I know right." I said, as Takeoff came in the door, bags in his hands with Offset.
  
   "Why y'all leave us.?" Tonice asked, walking over toward Offset, with her hands on her hip.

   "We had to go shopping." Offset said, pulling Tonice in kissing her on the lips.

    "Do u like this babe.?" Takeoff said holding up a black and white dress.

   "Awe that's cute. I would wear that for a wedding." I said, grabbing it away from him. I thought about what I said and looked at him. "This is my wedding dress.?"

   "Do u like it.?" Takeoff asked again, looking over at Offset. I shook my head yes, as I hugged him.

   "Good, cause we tried hard." Offset said, helping Takeoff with the bags of food. I kissed his cheek then looked at Tonice, who was already smiling.

    "Offset ur gonna be my cousin. Quavo guess what." I said, as he walked in the kitchen.

   "What.?" He asked, looking at me then the dress.

   "Ur gonna be my uncle." I said, jumping up and down, running upstairs to try on my wedding dress.
