You Can Count on Celestial Beings to Mess With Humans

You resisted every urge you had to scratch at the Mark of Cain as you sat quietly in the middle of the red circle. The Celestial Being surrounding you were spaced out evenly and chanting in Enochian, making the Mark itch in the first place as they slowly destroyed it from the inside out. Chuck explained to you before you started that the ritual would be slow but it was for everyone's safety. If the Mark of Cain was completely destroyed almost immediately, Amara would be launched out of her cage, wreaking havoc as she went. You understood considering what happened when Sam had Rowena break the Mark of Cain and how much damage Amara left in her wake. She unintentionally poisoned a whole town while searching for a vessel to harbour her while she regained her strength. So, you followed every direction Chuck gave you and sat quietly while everyone around you did their thing, holding a dagger that Chuck told you to use when he gave you a signal.

The circle you were sitting in started to turn from red to black as the chanting got faster. You kept your head up and gripped the dagger in your hand, anxiously waiting for Chuck's signal. As the Archangels kept chanting, Chuck stopped and opened his eyes to look at you. His eyes were completely white as he nodded at you, raising his hands from his sides. You looked down at the dagger before bringing it to your arm, pressing the blade into the middle of the Mark of Cain. Taking a deep breath, you pressed the blade into your skin and cut through the Mark. It hurt as you cut at your skin but that pain went away as quickly as it came. You eyed the Mark of Cain and stared wide-eyed at the black smoke starting to pour out of the wound instead of blood. The black smoke pooled around you before collecting itself next to you and taking the form of a woman. Once the last bit of smoke left your arm, all that was left of the Mark of Cain was a small scar where you cut your arm.

Amara took a breath when she finally formed into a woman that looked to be around Chuck's age. She had long, brown hair and was dressed in a long black dress with a skirt that looked like it was made of tulle at first glance, but you could see the little bit of black smoke making up the hem of the dress. Amara opened her eyes and looked around at the other Celestial Entities, smiling before she looked down and offered a hand to you. You took Amara's hand with a smile and she helped you up just as the Archangels finished their chanting.

"Chuck told me you were the one who convinced him to let me out," Amara said with a thankful smile. "It's nice to finally meet you, and thank you," Amara said your name as you smiled at her.

"I'm just glad things worked out," you said, nodding. Amara hummed as she turned away from you, nodding before she started walking over to her brother. Raphael was by your side in less than a second, checking to make sure there wasn't a lasting impact from the Mark of Cain. "I feel fine, Raphael. Hell, I feel better than fine."

"It doesn't hurt to check," Raphael said, forcing your eye to stay open so he could check it.

"It does when you do that," you complained, trying to pry yourself from Raphael's grip.

"Quit being a child."

"I am a child."

"You're thirty."

"In case you forgot, I was born in 2003."

"You are not using the time paradox against me," Raphael dead-panned, unimpressed with your words. Though, his grip did loosen up enough for you to slip out of his grip. That freedom only lasted so long when Lucifer appeared right behind you and grabbed you, pulling your hands to your sides and your back against his chest. "Is that proximity necessary?"

"She's not going anywhere, is she?" Lucifer hummed, raising a brow at his younger brother. When Raphael glared at Lucifer, the Devil sighed and loosened his grip only slightly. You couldn't get out but it was enough to keep you still though, he still kept you against his chest. "Better?"
