Lydia- The Pet Communicator
Chapter 15
My father bought me a new dress for tonight’s dinner with Drake. It was an elegant semi silk, sky blue dress that reached my feet. The exclusivity of this dress was its huge glittery black ribbon, draped around the waist. The dress was very comfortable too. I deliberately left my curly thick hair loose and put on slight make up, as I preferred to be simple and look sweet. After that, I stumbled upon my sets of accessories and ended up on choosing a freshwater pearl necklace with earrings.
I looked at myself in the mirror after getting all dressed up, and I was contented with my whole apperance.
When I stepped out of my bedroom, I found my father sitting on the couch all relaxed, reading a newspaper and sipping his coffee. I tiptoed silently towards him and yanked out the newspaper from his hand to irritate him. He got aggravated at once, but then he looked at me with admiration. He kept his coffee aside and held my hand with fondness. His face showed a mixture of emotions. He was happy, but his lips were trembling at the same time. A few tears escaped his eyes too.
“Daddy, any comments?” I asked willingly.
“You look very beautiful, exactly like your mother." My father replied with a sniff, while trying to control his emotional pain.
I sat on my father’s lap and pulled him into a tight hug, "Don't cry for the person who is not worth your tears, please."
Suddenly, I heard a knock at the main door. I chewed my lower lip nervously, knowing it was Drake at the door.
"I won't cry anymore. I promise. Go, your date is waiting for you at the door." My father responded with a forceful smile. I kissed my father on his forehead and asked him to cheer up for my sake. I wore my new black belly shoes and bid my father a farewell, before leaving.
I unlocked the front door to grab the most handsome man waiting for me at the doorway. He wore a black Hugo Boss suit with a crisp gray linen shirt inside. His hair were set into spikes and he wore a strong Ferrari perfume. I recognized the scent of the perfume, since my father used the same one occasionally. Drake gave me a huge grin and exclaimed, “Hi. You look very beautiful tonight.
He took my hand in his, and kissed it gently. I felt the butterflies in my stomach. Drake didn't let go of me and he held my hand until we reached his car, which was parked on the street. We both sat in and took off right away. Drake turned on some romantic music on the radio and stared at me affectionately with a smile. I shyly smiled back at him.
Just then, I heard Lucky barking from behind, while chasing our car, "Lydia! Wait for me! Stop!"
“Drake, can you stop the car for some time? I forgot to take Lucky. I’ve promised to take him with us and don't worry, he will wait outside the restaurant.” I pleaded, with a flash of guilt.
Drake rolled his eyes and spoke, “I have no problem with Lucky coming with us and you don’t need to ask such silly questions.”
I thanked Drake and opened the door for Lucky to come in. “Where were you sweetie?” I asked ruffling his fur.
Lucky barked instantly, “I went to follow up on Ricky. He is at a restaurant with a girl, the one near to the park.”
“The grand plaza?” I asked curiously. He barked a yes.
“Drake, can we go to The Grand Plaza? Lucky’s bitch will meet him out there.” I lied.
Drake nodded with a confused expression on his face, and changed the driving direction immediately.
