As Rose began her summer she realized that Oliver was acting very distant and it was very unusual because she was used to it during quidditch season, but not after. She shook it off and went home for a break. Rose and Neville were picked up by their gran and as they waved goodbye to their friends, they drifted away back to their house. It was a normal looking flat that had what the family needed to live somewhat comfortably. When they get unpacked, their gran started making dinner. As Rose waited for dinner she went to hang out with Neville, for they barely hung out anymore, since they were growing up.
"Hey Nev, how's the unpacking going?" she asked in the doorway.
Neville jumped a bit because he didn't know she had shown up, but he proceeded to say, "It's good, I wish I would stop losing my things though, especially Trevor. He keeps sneaking off and it's hard to find a toad you know."
Rose just laughed. She missed the times when her Neville would just be kids and talk about all their worries as kids, but of course, some of those were their parents being absent thanks to Bellatrix Lestrange. The two of them missed their mum and dad every single day. Even though Rose had her parents for a few years, it still won't make up for when she hits the milestones of marriage and becoming a mother.
"Nev, when do you think Gran will take us to St. Mungo's to see Mum and Dad?" She asked with tears brimming her vision.
Neville looked up at his sister. He hates when she gets upset and he can't do anything to help her be happy. "I don't know yet. I'd say probably next week. I know you're going to the Weasley's place for two weeks before the term in August, but we all know that you will go visit them throughout the summer because we all know you have a crush on George." Nev said with a grin.
"I do not like George! We're just good friends and nothing more or less," she said with a blazing red color tinting her cheeks.
"Sure Rose, sure," he said with a smirk.
"Rosette! Neville! The food is ready!" Gran called from downstairs.
As the siblings heard this, they exchanged a glance to indicate whoever gets their last is a rotten egg. As they race down the stairs they accidentally fall down the stairs. As they land and look at each other they both bust out laughing until they can't breathe.
"You two are a handful." Gran said with a small smile. Even though their gran goes hard on them she just shows love like that since she lost her son and she sees her son and daughter-in-law in both of the Longbottom siblings.
"So Rose, how's George and Fred? I heard they made a lot of trouble this school term," she said with a little smile. "And before you say you don't like George I will stop you right there," she said taking the words away from her mouth.
"Gran, we've been over this, me and George are just friends. I'm with Oliver and we're happy," she said with hesitation. Neville and her gran picked up on the hesitation.
"Why did you hesitate Rosette? Are you finally starting to realize you're in love with George, because you have been for years, don't argue about that," she said with a stern voice with a hint of a joking tone.
"I think I hear an owl already in her room, must be George saying how much he misses her already even though it's been a few hours," Neville said in a mocking tone. Rose elbowed him in the ribs while her face turned crimson.
"Shut up Neville," she said very quietly. She has noticed a lack of communication from Oliver lately and an increase from the twins, mainly George, and Lee Jordan. Of course, Angelina and Rose are still very close, but Alicia has drifted but it's normal. Rose has noticed that Alicia and Oliver have gotten closer and she suspects something going on between them, but doesn't read into it that much.
"But how is Oliver doing? I never hear about him in your letters, dear," said Gran.
"I think he's good. I haven't heard from him that much since getting off the train and he's been more distant lately, but that's normal isn't it? He's allowed to have other friends that are girls right?" she asked.
Neville and Gran just gave each other the look she was hoping not to see. She know that something was off with him, but she just didn't want to admit anything to herself. She just thinks back to the thought she had the night she and Wood got together about her possibly regretting it and she did.
"My dear, they may be just friends, but I would keep a close eye. From what I hear from Professor Dumbledore, is that you are a future seer and that Trewlaney loves you and that she says you're her star pupil." Gran said with pride.
Rose blushed with the praise but she did not believe it to be true. Sure she's good at the class, but not good enough to have it as a profession. "I love divinations it's one of my favorites, but so are potions and shockingly Snape likes me at least a little bit. I think. But,  I'm taking N.E.W.T.S for his class this year and for Professor McGonagall's class so I can have an internship with Madam Pomfrey in the hospital wing to become a healer," she said
Her gran just looked at her with her proud expression and Neville was also proud but rolled his eyes because he hears this all the time. She loves talking about it though because it makes her happy just as much as her friends and boyfriend.
"Also Gran, when are we making our annual trip to St. Mungos? I want to see mum and dad soon," she said with a catch in her voice.
Her gran looked at her with sympathy and said, "On the upcoming Wednesday, as today is Saturday."
Rose nodded her head content with getting to see her and Neville's parents soon. Soon after that, they were dismissed from the dinner table and Rose went to her room to see if Neville was joking about an owl being in there. It seems that he wasn't joking, but it seems to be from Oliver and not George which disappointed her, and she didn't know why.
