Chapter 12 ~ Break In

For what felt like only a few hours of sleep, Rose was being abruptly awakened by Angelina. Rose, get up! Sirius Black slashed the Fat Ladys portrait! We have to go to the Great Hall.

Rose, still half asleep, was being dragged out of the common room by a very terrified Angelina. Rose knew she would have to sweep the school, since she was a prefect, and she was not thrilled about that.

Rose, Percy said to her once she reached the Great Hall, I need you to do rounds around the Ravenclaw tower. Do you think you could do that by yourself?

Yeah, I can do that by myself. If we spread out, the quicker we find Black, she said to him, being fully awake now.

Correct, now be safe. I know how much George would kill me if he found out that I sent you by yourself, so dont tell him, Percy said in a quiet tone.

Dont worry, I wont tell him, Rose said before heading towards Ravenclaw tower.

The portraits were worried and Rose could hear it in their tones as she passed them. She wasnt worried though, because Sirius wouldnt harm her. Hes only here for something which she didnt know what yet.

Once Rose had made her way to Ravenclaw tower, she searched around the perimeter and found no sign of Sirius, which she was relieved to find nothing. If she wouldve found him, she wouldnt have told anyone about it, but Dumbledore always knew.

Once she saw it fit that the area was searched as much as it could be, she started to head back to the Great Hall. She figured that Sirius wouldnt have stayed long after being caught, but when she rounded the corner near the moving staircase she caught a glimpse of a black dog. She was frightened, until she realised who it really was.

Sirius, she whispered once she approached him, you have to run. Theyre looking all over for you and I dont want them to catch you. And dont worry I know of your innocence and that youre my godfather, but you have to leave, please. I cant lose you again.

Sirius looked up at her and she could just feel him saying thank you before he turned and ran to safety.

Rose, now heading to the entrance of the Great Hall, ran into McGonagall and said, I didnt see anything. Do you want me to find a place in the Great Hall to rest?

Yes, and thank you for your help, she said.

Rose just nodded her head and headed into the Great Hall. She wanted to find George, but she didnt want to disturb him. She looked around for Oliver, but when she caught sight of him, she saw him cuddled with Alicia and the tears started to form in her eyes. Rose couldnt handle it, so she went to find a place away from anyone to cry.

She found a spot in the corner and she tried to muffle her cries, but she thought Ill wait to get my revenge in the perfect time. Pretend everything is alright until I feel the time is right to- but her thought was interrupted.

Rosie, whats wrong, she heard her favourite redhead say behind her.

She said nothing, but wrapped her arms around his torso and held on. His scent and presence always comforted her. After about five minutes of just holding on to George like he would disappear, she let go. When she looked in his eyes all she saw was worry and Rose took that opportunity to say, Georgie, Olivers cheating on me. I saw him and Alicia cuddling when I came in here.

Rose saw the anger burn in his eyes and his words leaking venom when he said, Ill make him regret this I-

Rose cut him off and said, I want to wait for the right time to end things. I have a feeling there will be a perfect time in the near future and I want it to be unexpected.
