Today was the day, a day that was dreaded, but also exciting. The Longbottom siblings were going to see their parents today. Rose was perplexed with how she felt about the whole situation, but she was going, nonetheless. She stayed still, in her bed, for a while before getting up to get dressed. She threw on her Weasley sweater and a pair of black leggings, and threw her hair up in a messy bun, after brushing her hair. After she brushed her teeth, she headed for the stairs to meet her Gran and Neville in front of the fireplace to Floo to St. Mungos.
Once she reached the living room, she saw Neville and her Gran had been waiting for her, how long she didn't know. Her Gran always knew that Rose took it harder than Neville, because Rose actually knew them before they were cursed into insanity.
"Are you ready, Rose?" her Gran asked.
Rose just nodded, afraid to speak.
With that, the three of them reached for the powder and one by one they all called out "St. Mungos!" and spun until they reached their destination.
Once Rose got to St. Mungos, she took in the familiar place and a sudden dread fell over her as she waited on Neville to come through the fireplace. She always dreaded coming, but after a few minutes, she almost completely got over the dread. Almost
As Neville had come through the fireplace, the three of them set out to find their parents. Rose and Neville stayed stuck to the other side because they both needed each other to get through the times when they visited their parents.
Rose thought, 'I don't know what I would do without Neville by my side. I'm so glad he's my little brother.' and took his hand and squeezed it for reassurance. He returned the motion and gave his sister a small smile, which she returned.
Once the three of them reached the room with Alice and Frank Longbottom, they entered the room to find Neville and Rose's parents looking like they always did when they came to visit. Once their mom noticed a presence in the room after Rose's Gran addressed her and Rose's dad, she just turned to look at them with the blank stare she always had, along with the sibling's father.
Neville broke the silence to say, "I got another Herbology book and a new plant. The last term was intense because Harry Potter had to fight a Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets.." he rambled on about how his school year went, and Rose waited for her turn to speak to them.
"Hey Mum, hey Dad, you'll never guess what happened this school term. Me, George, and Fred have pulled so many pranks on the Slytherins this year and I got perfect marks on all my exams," Rose said, but her parents didn't pick any of it up, which shattered her heart. Of course, she knew this would happen, but no matter how many times she comes to visit, it will always shatter her heart.
Alice, her mom, rose from her bed and gave her and Neville more candy rappers like she always did, but this time was a little different, it seemed the siblings mom had given them a small smile and a look of pride for her children. It quickly vanished but it was there and that's all that mattered to Rose and Neville.
"Thanks, Mum," the siblings said in unison to her gift.
Rose quickly remembered that she wanted to tell them that she had gotten a new broom, but still wasn't on the team's starting line-up, but she had seen she would get playing time this year.
"Oh, mum, dad, I got the newest broom, the Firebolt, and this year I get to play Chaser. I mean I have always been on the team, but this year I feel I'll be able to actually play on the team. But my broom is amazing and fast. Oh, Dad, you would've loved to have seen me play and fly high. I'm so excited but, don't worry, I'll be careful, and I will try not to get hurt or hurt a Slytherin on the pitch at that." With that, Rose noticed her dad even gave off a smirk of pride, and that made Rose happy to know that even if her parents weren't there mentally, that they would always still have some memory of their children, deep within themselves.
Rose and Neville talked to their parents some more, but then they had to leave and head back home. This visit wasn't as the other visits had been, Neville and Rose's parents had shown more interaction than they normally did when they visited in the past.
"Bye Mum, bye Dad, I hope we can visit you sometime soon again," said the Longbottom siblings in unison with the other. They looked at each other with grins, due to them being in sync like they always were.
As the Longbottoms went out to leave, the receptionist said, "See you in a few months, Mrs. Longbottom."
Gran nodded at the woman behind the desk and set off for their house. Each of them took a handful of Floo powder and Floo'd away back, one by one. Rose was the first to Floo home. Once she hit the living room floor, she sat down on the sofa, waiting for her Gran and Neville to get back. Soon after her, Neville appeared in the fireplace. Then, soon after, her Gran came through the fireplace.
Once Rose's Gran dusted herself off, she said, "I will be making lunch for the two of you and, Rose, I think that George wants to see you so after lunch, you can go hang out with him and Fred if you please," giving Rose a look, "and Neville, I talked to Seamus' mum, and she agreed that you can go over there and hang out with him if you like."
The two looked at each other with a look of excitement, because they got to see their friends, but in Gran's case, George was more than a friend. Rose then gave her Gran a look of "We are just friends", but her Gran wasn't having it and said, "I will not argue, but the two of you can go and get dressed in more comfortable clothes if you wish to."
With that, her Gran went to the kitchen and the two siblings rushed up to their rooms to get what they would need when they went to hang out with their friends. Rose wondered how her Gran and the twins had kept from her that she would get to come over today, but now that she thought about it, George did mention a possible visit afterward.
'Sneaky, real sneaky' she thought.
After getting her little bag, with the undetectable extension charm, and putting the necessary things she needed in it, she headed to Neville's room to check up on him. She realised earlier that they never spent much time together anymore, ever since they both started Hogwarts.
"Hey Nev, how are you doing?" Rose asked once she reached his room, accidentally scaring him a bit. "Sorry for scaring you."
"Oh! It's ok, Rose. I should've expected you to drop in, but I guess I just didn't think," he said with relief in his voice, "I'm doing good though, super excited to visit Seamus for a bit. I don't even have to ask how excited you are to see George." he said the last part with a smirk, while Rose started to blush wildly.
"Well, I and Oliver are still together, Nev. And for one, you can't say anything, I've seen you with a certain Ravenclaw in the greenhouse." Rose said, returning the smirk. Now it was Neville's turn to blush as red as a rose.
"Hey! That's not fair!" he said defensively.
But Rose just shook her head at that and said, "Then I guess leave me alone about George, even if it is possible, which it isn't, that I secretly like him." Rose said matter-of-factly.
This earned her a look of 'sure' from Neville, but before he could say anything, their Gran called for them, because lunch was done. The two of them then bolted down to the kitchen to eat. Once they reached the kitchen, they saw that their Gran had made shepherd's pie. Gran's shepherd's pie was the best in the world.
"Before you destroy your food, I want you to know that Mrs. Weasley and Mrs. Finnigan know that you will be arriving soon." their Gran said, "But, I need you both to let me know when they arrive if you want to spend the night. I understand that you just got back from the Weasleys, Rose, but if you want I will allow you to spend the night this time. And, Neville, you can stay a few days, if you wish, at the Finnigan's house. As I know, Dean is also there, so it's completely up to you two to decide."
To say that the siblings were shocked would be an understatement. They never would've thought that Gran would even think to do this. They weren't complaining, of course.
"Yeah, that sounds great to me, Gran. I'd love to hang out with Seamus and Dean for a few days. Thank you so much!" Neville said with enthusiasm.
Then, her Gran looked at her for her answer, but really did she have to ask her, "Of course, I'd like to stay over at the Weasley's place, is that even a question?" Rose said with disbelief.
The sibling's Gran just smiled and said, "I figured I wouldn't have to ask, but I did just to make sure. I mean I already figured that Rose would want to spend as much time with the twins as possible, but I asked just for clarification."
Rose didn't care about the comment about the twins, she was just excited she'd get to hang out with the Weasleys. So both Neville and Rose nodded their heads in agreement to go to their friends' houses.
"So, now we can eat, because they will be arriving soon," said their Gran.
With that being said, all three of them began to eat, with Neville and Rose being the fastest to finish. As soon as they finished, their Gran dismissed them to finish packing and wait on their friends to pick them up.
About 15 minutes later, Rose and Neville started to head downstairs to wait on their friends. The two had no idea when the others would get there, but they were getting impatient and decided to wait downstairs.
After waiting impatiently, for another 15 minutes, the two heard a noise indicating that someone was coming by Floo. The two then got super excited and once the mystery person came through the fireplace, Neville was excited, while Rose was disappointed. Seamus came through dusting himself off and then soon after Dean came through too.
"Mam said me and Dean could come and get Neville, she didn't want to come just to pick him up," Seamus said with his thick Irish accent.
"Alright, I'll grab my trunk by the couch real quick and then we can leave," Neville said.
"Do you need help Neville?" Dean asked from the fireplace.
"No, I got it. Thanks though," replied Neville.
Soon after Neville retrieved his bag, the trio then, after saying goodbye to Rose and his Gran, left the house for the Finnigan household, with Seamus and Dean.
Rose, being very impatient, was starting to get worried that they weren't coming to get her, but that's the last thing she wanted to think would happen.
"Don't worry dear, Molly said that it would be a little later. The twins and Ron had to de-gnome the gardens again because they decided to prank Percy again" said her Gran.
It's like her Gran could read her mind. Maybe she got her love for Divination from her, but she'd have to ask another time about her knowledge of the class.
After about another 15 minutes of waiting, Rose headed to the kitchen to grab a glass of pumpkin juice, since George, Fred, and Ron were taking their precious time getting there.
As she grabbed the pumpkin juice, to pour a glass, she was all of a sudden up in the air, the pumpkin juice still in her hand. She let out a small yelp and then turned her head to see who had scared her out of her mind.
"Hey, Rose, did you miss me?" George said with a playful grin on her face. Once she fully got a glance at who was there, she saw a smug-looking Fred and Ron.
"You scared me so much, George Weasley! And you two! Why didn't you say anything?" Rose said with a flustered expression on her face. She didn't even hear them come inside, did they use the car?
"Before you ask how we managed to get inside," Fred said, "without you noticing. Your Gran let us in the backdoor and we used the car, which I'm sure you've figured out by now."
"Don't yell at your Gran for it. She knew today would be hard on you and she wanted to see you smile," George said, finishing his twins' thoughts.
"Have fun, dear," her Gran said, popping out of nowhere.
Rose ran to hug her Gran before leaving with the Weasley siblings. Ron already had her trunk in his hand and said, "While they were scaring you, I was in charge of getting your stuff, to bring to the house. And how is it so light? I would've figured it would be heavier."
"Oh, I placed a charm to make my trunk super light. It's super useful whenever we go to Platform 9 ¾" said Rose.
"That would make sense," said Ron, his face turning bright red. "Anyways, should we head to the house? Mum's probably waiting on us to get back."
"I think that would be a good idea, wouldn't you Georgie," said Fred, to his twin.
"I agree, Freddie," said George. He then turned to Rose and asked, "You ready?"
"Yeah, I've been ready, George," said Rose. Before she left though, she had to hug her Gran goodbye and thank her for letting her go to the Weasley's house, even though she had already been over there for a few days. "Thanks, Gran, you're amazing!"
"You're welcome Rosette, I hope you have a good time," said her Gran.
With that, Ron headed to the backdoor to put Rose's trunk in the back of the car, she figured that Arthur acquired another muggle vehicle since Ron and Harry crashed the other Ford.
Soon after Ron left, Fred left and George followed suit with Rose in tow behind him. As she reached the backdoor, she waved back at her Gran with a smile, which her Gran returned, and with that, Rose excited outside.
"So, how long have you been planning to get me?" Rose asked as soon as they got into the car and occupied.
"Well, my mum and your Gran were doing it actually, but George helped too, along with me, of course," said Fred, matter-of-factly.
"It was hard to keep from you though, because I basically tell you everything," said George, who sat beside her, with Ron in the passenger seat and Fred driving.
"Well, you should know that I thought you guys weren't coming to get me. Seamus beat you guys this time, I think you're losing your touch," Rose said smugly to get under the twins' skin, mainly George's. Which worked, because when she looked over at George he had gone red in the face.
"Well, we didn't think he'd beat us, and I'll make sure it never happens again," George said after he recovered, his face still scarlet.
"It doesn't matter, because it was only a one-time thing," said Fred soon after.
After that comment, the group set out to reach the Burrow by five in the afternoon, and the group talked about pranks they planned to do, mainly the twins. Rose, however, didn't really pay much attention to anything that was said, she mainly focused on just George. She realized that he was handsome in almost feature, and how the skin around his eyes crinkled when he smiled, which in her opinion was the most adorable thing ever.
'Wait a minute,' she thought, "I shouldn't be thinking this, I have Oliver and we're trying to work things out.'
But part of her didn't fully believe that statement, about her and Oliver working it out. She felt that it was only a one-sided love at this point. But, she'd worry about that later, she was hanging out with her best friends.
"Hey, are you alright? It looks like you've gone into deep thought," said George, while waving his hand in front of her face.
"Oh! Sorry, I'm fine, just thinking," she said with a slight blush on her face. "But it isn't anything to worry about. Don't worry about it."
"Alright, I won't worry about it, unless it gets worse. Then, will I worry about what you were thinking," stated George, with a serious face.
"We're here you two, so you can stop flirting now," Fred stated from the driver's seat. Rose then noticed he was looking at them through the rear mirror and giving a suggestive look.
"We were not flirting," the two of them said in unison.
At that, Ron snorted and muttered, "Yeah right."
"Shut up, Ronald," the two said in unison again. Ron, now red in the face, exited the car to get Rose's things from the boot of the car.
"Alright, sorry about that," said George, "I told them to not do things like that, but apparently they don't like to listen."
"It's alright, I'm used to it by now, and besides, my Gran and Neville do the exact same thing at home," said Rose.
With that, the pair, plus Fred, headed to the house to greet Mrs. Weasley. Once inside, Rose noticed that Ginny was sitting in the living room, with her broom polishing kit. Rose always felt bad that the Weasleys didn't have the money to afford nice things, but whenever she tried to buy them things, they always declined.
'One day,' Rose thought, 'I'm going to get them brooms for Christmas, so they can't decline.'
To make sure George didn't notice she was thinking, she said to Ginny, "Hey, Ginny! I see you're using your kit wisely. I'm glad you like it so much."
Ginny, looking up from her broom, said, "Hey, Rose! And yes, I love it so much, but you didn't have to get it for me. I was saving up for one anyways, but that doesn't mean I didn't appreciate it."
Rose just smiled and said, "It was not a problem to get for you, and, honestly, I'm glad you like it so much."
"Oh my, Rose, I'm glad you made it alright!" exclaimed Mrs. Weasley as she entered the living room. "How was the drive? Did the boys annoy you too much? Oh, I bet George didn't, but Fred and Ron, definitely."
Rose just laughed and gave her a hug, "Mrs. Weasley, you're so kind, but the boys didn't annoy me too much. The drive was bearable though, but they did surprise me a little too much and scared me."
"Just call me Miss. Molly, dear, but I'm shocked that they didn't annoy you too much. They usually do, just to bother George."
Rose looked over at the trio of boys which Fred and Ron smirked while George was red in the face with a murderous look on his face.
"Stop it mum, you're embarrassing me," replied George.
Rose just laughed at him and asked, "Where should I put my things?"
"Oh, in my room. I've cleaned already and have your space put together," replied Ginny. "Also, did you bring the firebolt? I could polish it for you, but if not it's ok, I bet you've already done that."
"Ginny, you're so sweet, but I did bring it. However, I have not polished it yet, but you don't have to do that, it isn't that bad at the moment. Besides, I could do that myself, so you should save it all for yourself," replied Rose.
"Did I hear you state you have brought your broom, because if you did I will be taking it and flying outside," said Fred from where he stood.
"Very funny, Fred, but I will be flying my own broom," replied Rose. "So, I assume we will be playing some friendly quidditch tonight?"
The twins, Ron, and Ginny all gave a look of 'yes we are', and Rose got the memo and got her broom out of the trunk, before taking it up to Ginny's room. "Don't take forever, Rose!" yelled the lot of boys, while Rose and Ginny ran to drop off Rose's trunk.
"Shut it, would you?" yelled Ginny as they ran back down the stairs to greet them at the back door, leading to where they played. "You lot are so impatient, you know that?"
"Tell me about it, especially whenever you don't write them back as soon as you get the letter. Yes, I'm talking to you, Georgie," Rose said, with a smirk.
"Hey! That's not fair," said George with a tint of pink now showing on his cheeks. "I needed an immediate response, that's why I was impatient."
"Sounds like an excuse to me, doesn't it Ginny," Rose said, jokingly. Ginny laughed at the two fighting like they were together, but she wouldn't make a comment about it out loud, or the both of them would yell at her. "I'm joking, Georgie, you know that, right?"
"I know, you love to pick on me, so at this point I'm used to it," said George, his twin snorting behind him.
"Are we going to go play or not? I think you guys forgot I was here," stated Ron, who was standing by the door, waiting to go out.
"Sorry, Ron, we can go now," stated Rose, and with that she started sprinting as fast as she could to the field, to obviously beat George. Sadly, George, being much taller than her, quickly passed her and gave a little victory dance when he beat her. "That's not fair, George! You're too tall for this," she gave a fake pout.
"Aw, are you pouting because you lost? Poor baby," George said with a fake baby voice.
Immediately after the two started to laugh about how childish they were. They were soon joined by the group that decided not to race and walk, like normal people.
"You two are so childish," stated Ron and Fred in unison. At that the whole lot laughed and once they composed themselves, they got the supplies out to play a quick match of quidditch.
"Alright, Ginny and Rose are chasers, while Fred and George are beaters and I'm a keeper. How are we going to split this up with an odd number of people?" Ron asked.
"Well, we could split the chasers and beaters into one each per team, and Ron, you can be a keeper for both, maybe," stated Ginny.
"I agree with Ginny," Rose said.
"Alright, but how will we split the teams? We could possibly draw names," stated Ron. "I mean this doesn't affect me, but it does for the rest of you. Ok, lets draw names then. Fred and George, you two put your names in this spot, and Rose and Ginny, you put yours here."
"I'll pick first," said Ginny. Once she pulled out the name she gave a look of mischief and called out to George, "Well, I guess me and George will be on a team while Rose and Fred are on a team."
"I get Rosie! Are you ready to absolutely beat these two?" Fred asked with a smirk on his face.
"Freddie, we're obviously going to win, we make a great team," she said with a hint of a mischievous tone. Once she looked over at George he had a strong sense of jealousy, or that's what Fred thought, while Rose thought he was just upset he didn't get to team with her. "It's ok Georgie, you can get me whenever you want."
George just blushed at that and Rose laughed. "I wouldn't push it Freddie, me and Ginny make a great team," stated George.
"Yeah, but I think you'll go soft on Rose, George. You always do in practice at school and whenever we play here," said Ginny matter-of-factly. "But I'll still be able to score easily, unless Ron steps up his game."
"I'm neutral in this, but I will try to play fairly," Ron said, but Rose saw a hint of a smirk on his lips and a glance at Fred. Rose figured he would be siding with Fred and herself to make George mad.
"We ready to play now?" Rose asked in unison with George. The two shared a look and smirked at each other.
"I guess we can, but who takes the make-shift quaffle first?" Ron asked.
"Like we do in real games," said Ginny. "I can call for Percy to throw it up in the air-" Ginny tried to say, but was cut off by the twins and Ron saying "No" very sternly.
"Gin, Percy wouldn't come out here to do something that was actually fun," Fred said.
"Yeah, he thinks the game of quidditch is pointless and won't get a person anywhere in life," followed George.
"I can just throw it up and then the rest can take off after it," Ron said while taking the make shift quaffle. "Fred, George, the fake bludgers are out and, oh, you already have them and the bats. Alright, let's start this game."
With that, everyone took off to the air to await the quaffle being thrown up.
"Alright, three, two, one, go!" Ron yelled, while throwing the quaffle up into the air.
Ginny quickly grabs the quaffle and heads over to the hoop to score. Rose and Fred were on her tail though, and Fred sent the bludger at his sister. She dodged it, but Rose was able to grab the quaffle when she was distracted. Rose then started to head for her hoop, and noticed that Goerge and Ginny were on her tail. However, Rose thought of a distraction play and went into action with it.
"Oh George, you're just so good at this, I fear you'll catch me," she said, while looking back at his with a glint in her eye. She noticed him becoming flustered and that's when she knew the plan was working.
"George! You got to put your feelings aside! This is a game, not a normal conversation!" Ginny yelled at her brother, but after she said that, Ginny noticed that Rose had scored while they were distracted. "Ron, I thought you were going to play fair."
"Well, I am, I just missed the quaffle that's all," Ron said innocently, but Rose saw a glint of mischief in his and Fred's eye.
After that play, the lot played for hours until Mrs. Weasley called them in for dinner. Once she did the final score was 150-80, and Fred and Rose being the winners, due to Rose making George flabbergasted.
"That game was so unfair! Rose used her charm against George the entire game," Ginny grumbled walking back to the Burrow.
"Well, me and Rose just make a better team I guess," Fred said, throwing his arm around Rose's shoulder.
"I guess we do," Rose said. After the comment and action, she looked over at George and he looked murderously at his twin brother. "What's wrong George?"
"Nothing. It's nothing," George said.
Rose knew something was wrong, so once the reached the door she told Fred she would be right in, and before George could manage to get past her, she grabbed him and took him back outside. "George, I know something's wrong, you can tell me. Actually, no you don't I think I already know. Is it because Fred and me are picking on you because you lost?" Rose inquired.
George was quiet for a second before replying, "Yeah, but there's more to it than just that, but you don't have to worry about it, and it shouldn't even be me having this feeling, it should be Oliver," George said to Rose. Now she was confused what could he mean? "Don't worry about it, I know you two are just playing around. Don't give me that look."
The look she gave was a confused and you better tell me. "Is the time not right to tell me what you mean yet, then? If not, I can wait, but don't make me wait too long. Also, I'm sure Oliver feels the way you do, he just doesn't show it as much. Anyways, I hope you feel better because I want to go inside and eat because I am starving."
George laughed at her and said, "Yeah, I feel better. We can go inside now."
The paired headed inside to eat the dinner that Mrs. Weasley had made for everyone, and like always, the food was amazing. Rose always over ate Mrs. Weasley's food and made herself sick, but it was so worth it to get a taste of everything she made.
"I hope you all enjoyed dinner, but now it's time to clean up. Fred, George, you two gather the dishes and put them in the sink, Ron you wash the dishes, Ginny get a cloth to wash the table off with, and Rose since you're the guest you don't have to help, unless you feel inclined to do anything," Mrs. Weasley stated.
"Why doesn't she have to help mum," whined Fred and Ron.
"Oh please, she is our guest! That is rude to make a guest clean up our own home," Mrs. Weasley yelled at the two.
"Oh, it's ok Miss. Molly, I can help by sweeping the floors so the boys don't get too angry with me," Rose stated with a small smile.
"Oh Rose, you're so sweet, but just because they said that doesn't mean you have to clean the floors," Mrs. Wealsey said, giving her sons a death glare, which they laughed at.
"It's no problem. Besides, I'd feel bad if I didn't help you clean up," said Rose with a smile. As she went to grab the broom, she saw the George was looking at her with a small smile. Once he noticed that she was looking he quickly turned around, but Rose still saw the tint of red forming on his cheeks.
'He's so cute' Rose thought, but then she shook her head and thought, 'No, I can't think that, I have Oliver. Oliver is my person and I should be thankful for him, and not go around and catching feelings for someone else.'
Once Rose got the broom, she swept around the kitchen and under the table to get all the crumbs and dust off the floor. After she had accomplished this, she went to the living area where Ginny was. Rose couldn't figure out where the twins had gone to, but Ron was still washing the dishes, and grumbling about it.
"Hey Ginny, I just want to let you know that you're an amazing quidditch player and you should definitely join the team," Rose said to her.
"Oh, thanks Rose! You're amazing as well, but I still don't know why Oliver doesn't play you, but he plays Alicia Spinnet. You're way better than she is and he should know that, I mean he's your boyfriend! He makes me upset, you know," Ginny bursted out.
"Oh I wouldn't say that I'm better than her, but it's up to him to decide I guess. I question it myself if you want me to be honest with you. Like, in all honesty, I think that there might be something going on between them but I'm afraid to confront him about it. Last time I did, he yelled at me and stormed off and we didn't talk for a week," Rose said with a hint of sadness in her tone. "I want to work things out, genuinely, but I see no future for us anymore."
Rose realized her mistake in saying that because Ginny looked shocked and said, "I knew you were a seer! You just never talk about it but I always suspected! That's amazing, not the Oliver part but I want you to talk to me more about it. I know it's been on your mind since the train ride home," she said with concern.
"I'm not completely sure, but it's a possibility that I am, I talked to Dumbledore about it and he said he'd get back to me, along with Trewlany. It would be pretty cool if I was though, but I have doubts. And Oliver, yeah it's been eating at me ever since the train ride, but I think it's been going on for longer. I made a deal with George that if it got worse before the end of next year then I'd end it with him, but I'm going to try and work things out with him, because deep down I still love him, but it's slowly fading away. If you want me to be honest, I think I'm gaining feelings for someone-" Rose didn't get to finish her sentence because Ginny gasped.
"Wait I think I know who it is! Do you want to go upstairs and finish this conversation," Ginny said with a knowing look, like she already knew who it was.
"Yeah, that would be better," Rose said. The two then ran up to Ginny's room to talk about boys, just so nobody could hear them. "Alright, well I'm pretty sure you already know who it is, but you have to swear not to tell a single soul, unless it slips out by the end of the school year or summer."
"I swear on my life I won't tell a soul," Ginny said determined.
"Ok, well I think I'm catching feelings for George, but I can't do that! I can't do that to Oliver, even if he did it to me. I'm not like that, I mean that's why I promised George I'd end it with Oliver if it didn't get any better, but I did it for him. This is awful of me isn't it Ginny," Rose said with her head in her hands.
Ginny came over and gave her a hug and said, "No, Rose, it's not your fault. Oliver has been super distant and disrespectful to you lately, but I think it is good to give him another chance but don't let him walk all over you."
"That's true, but I don't want him to think I am desperate either. I think I'm going to owl him later and ask to hang out at some point this summer, and hopefully we can work it out, but part of me doesn't want to but mainly I do. I'm horrible," Rose said.
"Girl, that's a good idea, but don't feel bad. I think my whole family and yours, plus Harry and Hermoine, want to slap some sense into him, but I think they don't want it to work out. I know George doesn't, but he won't tell you that because he wants you to be happy, even if he wants to be with you and can't. Don't tell him I said that, he might kill me," Ginny said, but Rose only focused on the part that George won't say anything bad because he wants her to be happy even if it isn't with him.
"That just makes me like him even more, he's literally the sweetest guy, but I can't. It'll be ok, we'll see how this school year goes and the summer. I'm going to do what makes me happy and nobody else can change that."
