-Short Chapter-
{Outfit in the MM}
A/N: This part will be the New Edition Story version on how Kylea goes back to music.:I was in the living room at my place, studying for my exam that was in two days. I had on Soul Train on the TV, I glanced up to see New Edition performing. I smiled seeing them perform, I missed the guys so much.
I sighed then went back to studying, I heard my mother coming in from work. "Hey, baby. You still studying?" She asked as she shuts the front door and hangs up her coat.
"Yeah," I rubbed my eyes and yawned. My mom sees Soul Train and faces me. She takes a seat next to me and I laid my head on her shoulder.
"You talked to them?" My mother asked me as we watched the performances on the TV. "Mhm, just before they went on. I miss them, and Bobby." I replied as I looked down at my lap.
"Go talk to him," My mom gets up and sets my books on the coffee table.
"Ma, I don't-"
"Kylea, get your ass up and go talk to him," She cuts me off and pulls me off the couch and pushes me out the door.
"Can I at least-" Before I could say another thing, she tossed my jacket in my face. "I love you baby-cakes." She gives me a smooch then shuts the door. My jaw dropped a bit then went to Bobby's apartment.
I knocked on the door, a few moments later Miss. Carole opens the door. "Kylea," She says with a smile, letting me in.
"Hey, Miss. Carole. Is Bobby home?" I asked as I scratched on my sleeve. "Yeah, he in his room." She tells me. I went down the hall to Bobby's door and knocked.
"What?" He called from the other side.
"Um... it's me, Bobby." I say slowly but nervous. I heard some shuffling on the other side and Bobby opens his door out of breath.
"Kylea, what up?" He asked acting all chill.
"Nothing much," I furrowed my brows, seeing some white stuff on his nose. "Got something on your nose."
"Oh, that's nothin," He wipes his nose. "Come in." He stood aside, letting me in his room. I sat down on the bed, his TV was on, he was watching New Edition perform on Soul Train.
"How you been? Haven't seen you for a while?" I asked as I faced him. "Been busy, you know how it is." Bobby answered as he took a seat next to me, laying his head on my lap.
"Noticed you being a lil school girl and shit, how's that been going?" He asked wrapping his arms around my waist. "Hard, but going okay." I looked down at him and rubbed his head as he faced me.
We both looked in each other's eyes then we slowly leaned in to one another, but was cut off when Bobby's mother opens the door.
We pull away fast and faced Miss. Carole. "Damn, ma. Can you at least knock?" Bobby asked with a little attitude.
"Somebody wants to talk to the both of y'all downstairs." Miss Carole says, ignoring Bobby's question.
"Somebody like who?" Bobby asked raising his brows.
"Just come see, you too, Kylea." Miss. Carole says before walking away from Bobby's doorway. Bobby kissed his teeth as he went to turn off the TV. We went downstairs, Mr. Busby was downstairs, me and Bobby looked confused.
"Meet me in my limo, we need to talk." Jheryl says before walking to his limo. Bobby went to get his jacket and the two of us went to Jheryl's limo.
We climbed inside the limo with me in the middle and Bobby by the window.
"What's up, Mr. Busby?" Bobby and Jheryl dapped and he shakes my hand. "What brings you in Boston?" I asked him.
"How you doing, Bobby, Kylea?" Jheryl says. "Your mothers asked me to come talk to y'all." He answers.
"Oh for real?" Bobby questions as he leans back against the seat with a smirk on his face.
"Oh, for real." Jheryl replies facing Bobby. "Said you've been in and out of trouble ever since you left the group. Hanging around gangsters, running the streets."
"Man, you got your mama worried everytime you leave the house." Jheryl tells him, I turned to face Bobby, he faced me for a bit then looked away.
"Is this the part where I..." Bobby turns to face Jheryl. "...I beg you to let me back in the group?" He asked.
"Wouldn't matter if you did," Jheryl shrugs his shoulders. "It's not gonna happen." After he said that Bobby looked a bit disappointed.
"Bobby, I'm just here to save your life. Because right now, all you're doing is pissing it away. You know that, right?" Jheryl questions.
Bobby kissed his teeth and looks at the window. "Look at you." Jheryl says as he chuckles. "I guess I knew everything when I was 17, too. Well, here's what you're doing, though."
"In your contract, there's what called a 'Leaving Members' clause, which means if a member of the group of the group is critical. To the overall sound or style of the group, then the label can't just cancel that contract when the group member leaves." He explains. Bobby slowly turns his head to Jheryl interested.
"And Kylea, your contract is still with us, due to the fact that you left on a family emergency." He tells me, I shifted in my seat and faced down.
"What I'm trying to tell y'all is that MCA Records is obligated to do a solo album with you two." Jheryl tells us.
"What are you saying? We can have our own albums with just us on them?" Bobby asked Jheryl with his brows raised.
"Just you two." Jheryl answers. "And with that advance money, plus the record you did with the guys and the records that Kylea did too, y'all can move your families out of the projects." Jheryl explains to us.
Bobby looks forward, leaning forward to think. Jheryl's wrist watch goes off, he checks the time. "So, it's on you, man. You can move to LA, make this album, or you can stay here and die." Jheryl shrugs his shoulders. Bobby turns his head to Jheryl without saying a word.
"What y'all say?" Jheryl asks. Me and Bobby faced one another then we shaked Jheryl's hand. "You got a deal." I say softly.
"Welcome back to MCA Records." Jheryl says smirking at the both of us.
