Vol. 5 Ch. 37 Training

Qrow's POV

I got up and saw that my niece and her boyfriend had gotten back last night. Ace had told me that he was going to propose to the Pipsqueak. I knew that Tai was more than okay with it, especially since I was in the room when Ace asked Tai for his blessing. I smirked when I noticed the sock on the doorknob of their room. Knowing them, I was pretty sure that they would've used protection. I went down to the living room and found Oscar sitting on the couch. He looked at me and I heard as Ozpin said, "Mr. Dodger and Ms. Rose make quite a great couple together, don't you think?" I smirked and said, "They sure do." Ozpin smiled and said, "I find it very heartwarming that despite everything those two have been through, they're still together. They truly bring out the best in each other." I chuckled lightly and said, "That they do." He rested his hands on his cane and said, "Let them sleep in a bit while we train the others this morning. They deserve it." I nodded and said, "Yep."

Ace's POV

The sunshine pouring through the window woke me up. I yawned and opened my eyes to see my beautiful girlfriend lying next to me with her head on my bare chest, both of us still completely naked under the cover. I smiled as I remembered what we did night before. I watched as Ruby kept sleeping peacefully, her body slowly moving up and down as she breathed. I smiled and kissed her hair. After a while, I felt her start to stir and watched as she slowly opened her mesmerizing silver eyes. She looked at me and said, "Hey, Ace." I smiled warmly and said, "Hey, Rosebud." She moved closer to me, snuggled up against me, and said, "Last night was amazing. I'm so glad I lost my virginity to you." I kissed her head and replied, "I'm glad I lost mine to you as well. And you were also amazing last night." Ruby smiled and said, "I just want to stay here like this all morning." I nodded and said, "Me too. I love you, Ruby Rose." She kissed my neck and said, "I love you too, Ace Dodger."

After a couple more hours of us just resting in each other's grasp, we decided that we should probably get ready for the day. I got out of the bed and said, "I'm going to go take a shower. I'll see you downstairs." As I reached the bathroom door, I heard Ruby say, "C-could I j-join you?" I stopped and turned to her with a smile as I said, "If you want to. I don't mind." She smiled with a blush on her face and followed me into the bathroom. After our shower together, we got dressed and headed downstairs to greet the others.

Oscar and Ruby were training hand to hand combat whilst Jaune, Nora, Ren, and I were watching. Jaune spoke and said, "Man, Oz wasn't kidding. Oscar's picking up on this stuff fast." Oscar hit Ruby straight in her face. Ruby recoiled from the blow and looked visibly angry, which caused Oscar to say, "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" Ruby hit Oscar back and he landed a few feet away on the ground as Jaune and Nora winced at the sight. Ruby cheered and said, "Ha! Yes! I did it!" Her brief moment of cheering was replaced with concern as she looked back and said, "Oscar?" Oscar groaned and got to his feet. Then he briefly stiffened while his eyes glowed in a yellow light and Ozpin said, "Not bad, Miss Rose. But Oscar doesn't have the years of training that you do. Or I do."

Oscar's body shimmered green as Ozpin engaged their Aura. Jaune, Nora, and I realized what Ruby was in for. Oscar determinedly approached Ruby, who said nervously, "Oh, ha, well, maybe we should uh... take a break." Ozpin attacked Ruby with a few punches aimed at her head, forcing her onto the defensive until he landed a blow to her face which knocked her back several feet. Ozpin closed the gap with a leap and kicked her in the face. Ruby leapt at Ozpin to throw a left cross which Ozpin evaded by ducking and retaliated with a headbutt from below.

Nora commented and said, "Ouch." I nodded in agreement as Ozpin said, "The next time you want to throw a left cross, remember to push off with the appropriate foot. And as always, do be aware of any openings." Ruby strained as she sat up and said, "Gooooot it." Ozpin relinquished his control and Oscar fell to the ground, panting. Ruby asked him, "Oh! Hey. Are you okay?" Oscar replied, "How is this so exhausting?" Ren answered, "Your body isn't used to this kind of training, not to mention generating a defensive Aura on your own. It takes intense concentration at first, but in time it will become second nature, allowing you to deflect attacks and gradually heal your wounds. After that, you can begin focusing on your Semblance, whatever that may be." Oscar asked, "Semblance?" Nora replied, "You know! Like your very own superpower! Everybody's got one. It's just a matter of finding it and mastering it. Ruby moves super fast, Electricity makes me stronger, Ren can mask emotions, Ace can freeze time temporarily, and Jaune... can, uh, um. Hmm." Jaune said, "I can't do anyth─" Ruby cut him off and said, "Jaune's like you!" Ruby took Oscar by the hand and led him over to Jaune and said, "He hasn't found his Semblance yet, but we all know he will. And you will, too. We all just have to try and help each other get stronger."
