Secret Santa, the states did this every year it became a tradition, and they did it even before they moved to the state house everyone took a name out of the hat California was one of the first people to take a name out of the hat the little piece of paper said
" New York" ' this will be easy I'll just get him something from the bills website or maybe something from the Giants' Cal thought to himself. So California went to his room and went on his computer and decided to buy New York a beanie for the bills and a beanie for the Giants staying under the $30(because of inflation Gov thought it was a good idea to up the limit this year.) now he just had to wait for the beanies to come

New York put his hand in the hat to grab a small piece of paper. He looked at it. It had california. written on it. ' fuck when am I gonna get him?' you see New York, had a crush on California.So he had no idea what to get California.
' Think New York think.' New York, said to himself over and over. New York went on Amazon. He found a book called Laurel Olympus.(sorry if I butchered the books name.) he thought California would like that book since it's about a modern retelling of the Greek gods. So New York decided to order that book and wait for it to come, hoping it would come before Christmas.

The two states got off their computers and continue on with their days

When California got his package He immediately unboxed he put the two beanies in a box together in Christmas video game wrapping paper.

When New York got his package, he wrapped it in Christmas wrapping paper. Just regular Christmas wrapping paper.

California made his own card because he's more personal like that and he wrote I love you on the card.

Because he also had a crush on New York
