The first Christmas without Rachel

States were talking about how sometimes death can affect peoples holiday spirit " remember the first Christmas after Rachel died. I didn't even want to celebrate the holiday but NYC reminded me that she would want us to celebrate" New York, said

" well, of course I didn't celebrate Christmas when Sarah died. I mean she was my wife" Vermont said

" well I did when your mother died I had a little kids. What else did you expect me to do? Plus Rochester in Syracuse went mute for the entire year until Syracuse met Colorado " New York says looking at Colorado and Syracuse. Syracuse was sitting on Colorado lap. " you're welcome."

After Rachel's death, New York was depressed He lost the love of his life and the mother of his children Christmas came around in New York just didn't want to have it. He thought he would tell his children that we're not going to church for Christmas this year but decided that maybe it would brighten everyone's spirits in his house
" dad mama would want us to celebrate" NYC said
New York knew that his oldest son was right " I know kiddo why don't you go get your siblings I will go chop down a tree and will start decorating" New York said
New York went upstairs to grab his youngest two children " come on Rochester come on Syracuse we're gonna go cut down a Christmas tree." New York said in a soft tone, the twins and just nodded not seeing anything.
This has gone on for almost a year with the twins not talking. He picked up his kids. And told one of his servants to get the carriage ready.
he put the kids in their winter clothing and they headed out.
It was snowing the kids found a nice tree.New York, chopped it down with the help of NYC in Long Island.Albany,Syracuse in Rochester waited in the carriage . While their father and brother's tied the tree to the carriage. Lea brought the tree inside the house, and started decorating it with ornaments on the tree and tinsel the deck. The Halls filled with Halle, but they didn't put up the mistletoe because New York couldn't bring himself to do it.

Pause back to present

" you didn't put up the mistletoe!??" Arizona yelled
" Arizona, who would I  kiss my wife was dead and I wasn't ready to seek out a new relationship. That was the time when I was still wearing my wedding ring." New York State
" it's OK New York just tell us the story" Utah, said
Georgia came in and sat down next to New York" You ok darling?" George asked kissing his husband cheek
" yes, dear just a little bit emotional" New York said, then he moved on

" anyways back to the story" New York said

New York couldn't bring himself New York called California to babysit the kids while he went out to buy the kids presents
" how are you holding up York? I didn't think you would celebrate this holiday after she died." California said.
" NYC reminded me that Rachel would want us to celebrate" New York
" he's right she would she would want you to be happy" Cal exclaimed, as he entered the house
" thanks for doing this. I'll be back soon. Just make sure they're playing somewhere where they can't see me hide the presents.." California Nodded and let New York go out of the house he went to hang out with the kids and try to get Rochester and Syracuse to talk but it was no use. They still didn't say a single thing.

Fast forward to Christmas Eve

Mass and Connecticut showed up with their kids. New York was disappointed when Vermont didn't show up with Yorks, daughter-in-law and grandchildren
" I guess he's not coming he barely talks to me at meetings" York said Mass Pats his brothers back. " give him time it's been a rough year for all of us"Mass said
"I know Mass"New York said
The family eats their dinner and goes to bed.

The next morning, the kids open their presents, then they eat breakfast
And enjoy the time together and that was the first time New York knew that he and his kids were gonna be okay.

" yes and I just can't wait for our first Christmas as a married couple." Georgia said.
