Everything that Soobin has told him during their drive here, was absolutely right.
The place does not look like any birthday party Yeonjun was expecting humans to have. It looks like a grand fest hosted by people like... Yeonjun. People with a higher social status and the monetary means to make possible what others can only dream of.
The party location looks like some grand wedding kind of event and the people here are all dressed incredibly well. Yet, Yeonjun and Soobin seem to be quite the sight themselves when they finally walk through the entrance.
Some of the people noticing them start to whisper to each other, most of them simply in awe of the amazing tailoring of their matching suits or because of Yeonjun and Soobin coming here together in matching suits. Others simply smile at them or greet Soobin because they already know him as the hostess's boyfriend. And Soobin greets everyone back who comes to him, all while constantly making sure that Yeonjun is still with him. He would not lose sight of the prince, that is for sure.
He had told Yeonjun how he would not have to come with him if he did not want to, but the prince insisted on it, wanting to stay by Soobin's side, while also checking some things out himself. He was also very much looking forward to attending a party, considering he has not been to one in quite some time.
So of course Soobin would have to take the stunning elf with him.
"Soobin!", the voice Yeonjun has not been looking forward to hearing at all, calls out to him and the hostess approaches the stunning pair dressed in outfits that match each other perfectly.
She gives Soobin a kiss and Yeonjun turns away right when he sees her leaning in, quickly grabbing a glass of champagne from one of the trays a waiter is carrying who walks past him. He quickly downs the drink and puts his glass back down on another waiter's tray, trying to somehow make this ugly feeling inside of him disappear.
She really does look amazing. Absolutely stunning even in the sparkly dress she is wearing that is falling so very perfectly over her delicate frame in a color that compliments her skin tone just as well and Yeonjun just knows that Soobin must be thinking the exact same thing. Of course he would. After all, there is no point in denying her beauty and she is still his girlfriend as well.
But that does still not stop Yeonjun from feeling annoyed by it. Even though he clearly knows, judging by the gazes of everyone, including Soobin and Hyeja, he himself can easily keep up with the quality of her appearance. He would even go as far as to say that he is more appealing than Hyeja.
Soobin congratulates Hyeja on her birthday and Yeonjun briefly rolls his eyes before he puts on his best fake smile and reaches out his hand to congratulate her as well.
She looks at him with wide eyes and a clearly fake smile of her own, reluctantly taking his hand and shaking it as she accepts Yeonjun's words of congratulations.
"Wow, I was certainly not expecting you to bring another guest, Binnie.", she nervously laughs and Yeonjun gives her a challenging smile, as if trying to tell her to do as much as to dare and try to kick him out. He knows Soobin would not accept that.
"I'm sorry, I should have told you. But I guessed it would not be a problem for you anyway, so I took him here with me.", Soobin says and she just nods, only accepting his words when he hands her the gift he has gotten her.
She looks at the package with full excitement and excuses herself rather soon after a small conversation with her boyfriend, putting the gift down on the gift table and greeting the other guests that are slowly coming in one after another.
Yeonjun still makes sure to stay close to Soobin, even though he could easily just walk around and explore the area by himself. But for some reason, he does not feel too well leaving Soobin's side to walk around a place with only humans in it. An there is a lot of them here right now. Hyeja just existing and possibly even approaching his human companion again though, is also something Yeonjun does not necessarily want to witness.
