25 | no more magic

*two years later*

Walking and walking along the same path every single day for the past two years, Choi Soobin finds himself lost in thoughts yet again.

He would do this regularly, just walk the along the part of the park he walked along with his first and only love back when they were here in the human realm together. He would do this regularly, yet be all alone by the end of his walk every single time.

Ever since Yeonjun banished him to save the magic realm, Soobin has been heartbroken, sad and lonely. It got better over time as he just immersed himself in his work and actually even earned a promotion from all of it. So he works more hours and earns more money, but is still here without anything or anyone other than himself to spend said money on. He has actually considered moving far away, and start a new life there. Maybe somewhere at the beach? He could just try to find a different job, make things work with his savings most of the time as well as he did not spend much at all lately from not going out much.

He is doing better now than he did two years ago and apart from his work, his friends are a huge reason for that. Explaining everything that happened to Minho and Jisung after they returned, they all made sure to not leave Soobin alone and make him feel as loved as possible instead.

Yet, there is this hole in Soobin's heart he just cannot fill, no matter what he does.

He sighs when he reaches the entrance to his house, unlocking the door before he slips inside and discards his coat and shoes.

"Oh there you are!", Felix comes greeting him, wearing an apron with fresh chocolate and flour stains on it. He is holding a spatula in one of his hands, the other one just being prepped up in his side.

After coming to the human realm with them, Felix moved into Soobin's guest room and him and Changbin started dating properly while Changbin guided him through human life. And just like he had promised two years ago, Changbin made sure to treat Felix just the way he deserves. He treats Felix like he is the most precious, most beautiful and perfect being to ever exist. He protects him, cuddles him, kisses him, touches him - but all with a type of gentleness Felix was anything but used to. But he did not know just how much he needed someone like Changbin in his life until he finally had him.

Changbin did not pressure him into anything. All he did was to hold Felix back from falling back into old habits again and when he finally had the confirmation from Felix that the former elf has actually developed proper feelings for him, he decided to make a proper move and give him what he wanted all along. Though their first time together did not happen quickly at all. They definitely waited for a good while, letting Felix adjust to his new life and getting to know each other better before Felix confessed and they could just not hold back any longer.

They have been an official couple for one and a half years now and Felix could not be happier. He misses his pack from time to time, getting more and more homesick, especially on special occasions or in certain situations. He just wishes they could be here with him sometimes. But he knows they could not and he wonders what they are doing from time to time as well, whether they miss him too. Changbin and Soobin do a great job distracting him and making him feel better.

Felix has also become especially close with Jisung, who introduced him to video games and is his best friend in this world by now too.

"Sorry I was out for so long.", Soobin apologises and follows Felix inside the kitchen, taking a seat on one of the stools on the other side of the kitchen isle as he watches his roommate put the freshly baked brownie pieces into a dish.

"It's okay. I was busy anyway.", he says, then pauses his actions and looks up into Soobin's eyes, "Are you alright though? Did you think of Yeonjun again?"
