Tears were endlessly falling from the eyes of Devi Sita looking at the head of Shri Ram in the plate.
"Antatah Kaikeyi ki iccha purn ho gayi ! Kul-nandan ki hatya ho hi gayi ! Santusht hogi woh ab ! Sabhi jyotish sabhi Rishi asatya kehte the ! Mujhe kaha tha ki mai sada suhagin rahungi, aapko kaha ki aap dirghayu honge, aur ki hum laut ke Ayodhya par shaashan karenge.... Sab asatya !" Devi Sita cried.
She then looked at Ravan, who remained unfazed, deep down he was enjoying it, due to a hope that now Sita would accept him.
"Hey Ravan ! Ab tum mera bhi vadh kardo ! Jeevan mei nahi toh mrityu paschaat hi mera milan mere Nath se ho jayega.... Yeh punya kardo Ravan, isme hum sabka kalyaan hoga..." She said as tears fell from her eyes.
She took the head of Shri Ram in her hands and fell on her knees, hugging it close to her heart.
"Aap toh kehte the ki aapko mere bina swarg bhi nahi chahiye... Toh mujhe chhod ke kyu chale gaye ? Maine toh sadev aapka saath diya, toh aap mujhe akela kar kyu chale gaye Nath !?" Devi Sita sobbed.
By then few ministers of Ravan came running to him.
"Aryaputra ki jai ho ! Senapati Prahast aapse milna chahte hai. Gambhir baat par charcha karne hetu." They said.
Ravan nodded and went away with Vidyutjeeva following him. And the moment they left, the head of Shri Ram disappeared, making it clear that it was an illusion. But Devi Sita was too grief stricken to notice.
Soon Rakshasi Sarma came towards her, with the news that would uplift her spirits.
"Sita, Lankesh ne tumse jo bola woh asatya hai." Sarma said.
"Kya ?" Devi Sita looked at her.
"Ha Sita. Lankesh ne kaha ki Ram ko prashast ne samudra ke uttari tat par mara, yadi aisa hai toh Ram, Lakshman sahit aur sampurn Vanar sena le samudra ke dakshin tat par kaise aaye ? Tumhare Ram jeevit hai aur Lanka ke dwar pahuch chuke hai. Maine swayam apne netro se dekha hai." Sarma said.
"Satya ? Mere Ram aagaye ?" Devi Sita asked.
"Ha woh tumhe lene aagaye. Lankesh ne atyant nich chaal chal tumhe bhramit karne ka prayas kiya. Yeh mastiksh toh keval unki ek maya thi." Sarma said.
"Iss dusht ne toh sabhi seemaye paar kardi hai." Devi Sita said.
"Batao Sita, mai tumhare prasannata hetu aur kya kar sakti hu ? Jo karya tumhe sukh de, usko karne mei mujhe Lankesh ka bhaye nahi." Sarma said.
"Sarma, mujhe tum par purn vishwas hai ki tum mere liye kuch bhi kar sakti ho. Kintu mujhe keval yeh jaanna hai ki Ravan kis vishaye par apne Senapati Prahast se mantrana karne gaya hai." Devi Sita said.
"Awashya." Saying so Sarma went to the palace and very secretly eavesdropped outside the room where Ravan and his ministers were discussing.
After getting the information, she went straight to Devi Sita and told her everything.
"Raj-Mata Kaikeshi, Lankesh ke Nana Malyavaan aur dusre sabhi vridh mantri unhe yahi paramarsh de rahe the ki woh aapko mukt kare aur Ram ko sammaan sahit saup de. Kintu Lankesh maanne ko hi taiyaar nahi the. Unhone yudh ki taiyaari karna arambh kar diya hai." Sarma said.
"Vinash kalaye viprit Buddhi." Mata Sita said.
