"Absolutely ridiculous!" Lucius Malfoy scoffed as he sat in his black leather, wing-back chair and scowled at his only son who stood in front of the massive hearth, "Draco, this is an outrage!"

Their discussion in Malfoy Manor's parlor had not gone well over the last hour.

"An outrage, Father....." Draco shot back with a furious scowl, "Is returning to Hogwarts only to be mocked! Do you have any idea what they say about our family at that wretched school?! The Malfoys are hated now! We practically have to hide our faces whenever we leave the house! Is this what you and Mother wanted?! To be cast into shame and ostracization?!"

"Your mother and I made the unwise decision in our youth to join the Dark Lord! A mistake, Draco, a mistake!" Lucius thundered, "A concept I'm certain you of all people can understand!"

"I have no remorse about my actions, Father." Draco sniffed, "And I stand by my mate, your opinion matters little to me."

Lucius hissed as if Draco had just sworn at him.

"A mudblood is not worth such extravagance, Draco. Your mother and I will never approve." He scoffed.

".......But Mother will want to visit once the baby's born." Draco said quietly, "I've already taken her as my omega, Father. Your disdain cannot erase that now."

Lucius's cold, gray eyes narrowed at his son while Draco nodded, "I can withdraw money from my trust in six months' time. Either you and Mother can provide the funds I require or I'll ask for a loan and pay it back once I'm of age."

"A loan from where?" Lucius laughed, "Gringotts does not deal with wizards under the age of-"

A terrible scowl twisted his pale face as he stopped to gape at Draco in horror and gasp, "-Surely you don't mean—?"

"Potter is no friend of mine." Draco sneered, "That aside, he'll have no hesitation about aiding me if he knows his assistance will benefit one of his friends."

Lucius grit his teeth.

"Do you and Mother want to meet your grandchild or not?" Draco frowned.

For once, he held the power over his manipulative family.

Lucius Malfoy had lost several battles over the last year.

It pained him to know his latest defeat would come from his only son.

A week later, with his teeth gnashed, Lucius met with Professor McGongagall.

They sat in the headmistress's office while Hogwarts' students and staff prepared to depart for the castle's annual spring recess.

"Mr. Malfoy," McGonagall began after Lucius concluded his proposal, "I don't think Hogwarts has ever received a request quite like this or a donation of such a generous amount!"

"It would make my son immeasurably happy if you accommodate his wishes, Professor McGonagall." Lucius said with a cordial smile.

".....And perhaps help your family regain a bit of respect by placing your name at the top of the donation list?" McGonagall quipped.

Lucius frowned.

"Regardless of what happened during the war, Mr. Malfoy...." McGonagall sniffed, ".......I suppose Hogwarts can accept a donation of this size and in turn, comply with.....all this. The funds can certainly be used to help our students who have lost family........in the conflict." She said with solemn certainty as she stared at Lucius in blatant disapproval.
