"Y/N? Baby, where are you?" Lily shouted as she walked through the house in search of you.

Since it's so early in the day, she thought she'd find you in the living room somewhere.

But to her surprise, it was empty and you weren't anywhere to be found.

She looked around downstairs for you until she heard a thud come from upstairs and in concern, she rushed up the steps while calling out for you.

"Y/N? Baby? Are you okay?"

She reached the bedroom a few seconds later and she sighed in relief when she saw that you were physically okay.

But her relief became replaced with a sinking feeling as she noticed that you had bags packed on the bedroom floor and the bed.

"What's going on?"

You turned around to face her and a sigh left your lips as you tossed another shirt into a duffle bag.

"I'm leaving, Lily."

"Leaving?" She frowned. "To go where?"

"I haven't decided yet." You said and watched as your girlfriend gazed at you in confusion.

"Like a vacation?" She asked as she walked over to you. "With your friends?"

"No, Lily. Like me leaving here for good. Like us breaking up."

She couldn't even believe the words that left your lips.

You had to be messing with her or something because this came out of the blue and it made no sense at all.

"I don't understand. What do you mean by breaking up? We don't need to break up."

"I just need a break, Lily!" You said with your voice raised slightly.

She lowered her head for a second but you saw the look of sadness in her eyes before she did so.

"What do you need a break from? Me?" She asked with a heartbreaking look on her face.

You didn't reply and that caused Lily's heart to shatter.

"Isn't there anything I can do to change your mind?"

You shook your head and began to zip up your bags.

But Lily wasn't letting you go so easily.

As you zipped your bags up, she unzipped them and pulled everything out.

"Lily!"

"Please don't go." She sniffled as she grabbed your wrist in her hand ever so gently. "Please, baby. Everything is so hectic and so new to me still and I need you. I need you to be in my life forever and ever. I don't want to lose you, I love you too much."

Before she came up into your room, you figured you could pull this prank off with no problem.

You thought you could drag it out a bit and let it last longer than this.

But seeing her cry broke your heart and hearing her beg and plead for you to stay was enough to make you drop it.

"Lily, baby, I'm only messing with you. I'm not breaking up with you."

She looked a little sadder than she did before.

"You were pranking me?"

You nodded.

"Why would you do that to me?"

"I didn't think it would go this far. I'm sorry."

"You should be!" She said loudly. "I didn't do anything to deserve that."

"You're right, you didn't. It was stupid. I was stupid."

"Yeah, you were." She said before sighing. "But I love you and I'm happy that you're not leaving."

"I'd never leave you." You promised as you caressed her cheek.

"Okay. But if you ever do something like this to me again, I'll be the one breaking up with you." She warned and you knew she wasn't messing around by the look in her eyes.

"I'd deserve it." You spoke as you put your arms around her to pull her closer. "I love you."

"I love you too." She said before kissing your lips lovingly, grateful that you weren't leaving and she could hold you in her arms forever.
