Trigger Warning! ⚠️K!dn@pp!ng

We followed Brian down the halls, I tried keeping track of which way we were going in case we had to make a break for it, but after about five turns I gave up. You would think since it was such a small town, they wouldn't have that big of a hospital but apparently not. We walked for another two minutes until Brian came to a stop. "This is where you'll be staying for the night," Brian told us, "Is that alright?" "Fine, with me as long as I don't have to share a room with any of the boys," Anna said. "Of course not," Brian chuckled, "You'll be in a room with Ella." Anna smiled, "Great!" "You ladies will have the room on the left," Brian said pointing to their room, "And the boys will take the room on the right." "Okay," Ella said, opening the door to her and Anna's shared room, "Night losers, see you tomorrow." "Night," I snorted. Once Anna and Ella had disappeared into their room, I opened the door to mine and went inside. "Thank you, for letting us spend the night here," I told Brian, "I don't know what we would have done without your offer, and thank you for fixing Leo I know he can be a pain." "No problem, I couldn't have you sleeping on the streets," Brian replied, "And I appreciate it, your friend is very stubborn." I chuckled, "Yeah, he doesn't seem to think he needs help." "I can tell," Brian muttered, "He was quite adamant about not needing a cast." "Seriously?" I asked. "Yes," he replied, "He told me casts were useless and would slow him down." "Oh wow," I laughed, "He has serious issues." Brian nodded, "He does, maybe he needs to see a therapist." "Maybe," I said, "I'll look into it. Good night." "Night," Brian called over his shoulder as he walked down the hall. I closed the door and turned to Jack and Leo.

"So, who wants which bed?" I asked. "I'll take the one farthest from the door," Jack said running over to it, "That way if any murderers come in, they'll kill you guys first." "Jee thanks," I scoffed, "What about you Leo?" Leo just shrugged, "I don't care, as long as I get a bed." "Okay," I said, "I'll take the one closest to the door you can take the one in the middle." "Sounds good," he said flopping down on the bed. I went over to my bed and climbed under the comforter. After three days of sleeping outside the bed felt amazing. I let out a contented sigh, "This is way better than sleeping on the ground." "That it is," Jack agreed. "It'd be even better if we weren't in a hospital with a creepy doctor," Leo muttered. "What do you mean?" I asked, "Besides him being dead Brian isn't creepy." "I don't know," Leo replied, "Something about him doesn't sit right with me. He's too nice, not charging us anything and then letting us stay the night in the hospital For Free." "Some people are just like that," I told him, "It's rare but they exist." "Whatever you say," Leo muttered, "Night guys." "Night," I replied. "Night," Jack yawned. It didn't take long for both of them to fall asleep. I stayed awake for a while longer listening to the sound of their breathing and making sure I couldn't hear any screaming signaling that those things were nearby. They probably weren't I mean the whole town is already dead why stick around? With that thought reassuring me, I rolled onto my side and drifted into a peaceful sleep. Suddenly, something woke me up. I sat up and looked around the room, but I didn't see anything out of place. I don't know what time it was, but it was still night because the room was almost pitch black. Then I heard a sound from the hallway. I climbed out of bed and tip-toed to the door. From underneath the door, I could see a light was on in the hallway and I could hear people's voices. I pressed my ear up to the door and listened. "Be quiet," Brian hissed, "You're going to wake more of them up!"

My eyes widened, what was happening? And what did he mean by more of them? Was someone already out there? I glanced over to the other beds to see if Jack and Leo were still there. In the dark, I could just barely see Leo's sleeping figure, but Jack's bed was empty. Shit! They got Jack! "Sorry," an unfamiliar voice apologized, "I didn't even realize he was in the hall." This is bad! I don't know what's going on but whatever it is it isn't good! I silently dashed over to Leo's bed and shook him. "Leo," I whispered, "Wake up!" He just groaned and rolled over. "Leo!" I tried again, "You were right about Brian! Something happened to Jack, I need you to wake up!" Leo's eyes opened, "What!?" he whispered. "I don't know what happened but Brian kidnapped Jack!" "I heard something from inside the boy's room," the voice outside said. "Shit," Leo cursed getting out of bed, "Help me barricade the door!" Quickly rolling one of the beds over to the door, we propped it up on its side so that it was directly beneath the door handle. Just as we backed away from the door, someone tried the handle. "They blocked the door," the person hollered, "I can't get in!" I could hear Brian cursing outside, I franticly look around the room for some sort of exit. "Over here," Leo called from the other side of the room. "What is it?" I asked dashing over to where he was. "There's a window," he told me pointing up to a window that was just small enough for us to get through. "Great," I said trying to open it. That's when I noticed it was sealed shut by layers and layers of paint. Shit! I scanned the room for something to open it with and that's when I saw it. A chair. I ran over to it and picked it up off the ground. "Leo!" I shouted, "Duck!" He didn't need to be told twice. Leo quickly moved out of the way, and I hurled the chair straight through the window. There was glass all over the place, but the window was finally open. I could hear someone ramming into the door, and I quickly ran back over to where Leo was.

I hoisted Leo up and he crawled through the opening, once he was on the other side, he reached his hands out and I grabbed onto them. Then the bed went flying and the door slammed open revealing a very large, and very muscular man. I began scrambling through the window as Leo pulled me up, I was just about to climb onto the sidewalk when someone grabbed my ankle and began to pull me back inside. I looked down and saw the man had an enraged look on his face. He yanked on my ankle with such force I heard Leo slide forward into the wall. By some miracle, Leo didn't let go, but no offense to Leo but muscle man is definitely stronger than him and will probably win if this becomes a tug-of-war match. I looked around trying to find anything that would help me but I came up empty-handed. That's when I remembered this guy only had ahold of one ankle. I pulled my free leg back and slammed it down onto his nose. The man let out a cry of pain and let go of my ankle so he could cradle his bleeding nose. Leo quickly yanked me through the window and onto the sidewalk. Once he let go, I peered through the window next to ours. Anna and Ella's beds were empty. My heart sank, he got Anna and Ella too! "We have to find the others," I told Leo. "No," He replied, "Right now, we need to find a place to hide, come up with a plan, and then find the others. Because we're no use to them if we get caught too." "What!?" I cried, "We can't just leave them!" Leo opened his mouth to reply but was cut off by Brian, "There they are!" he shouted, "Go get them!" I looked over and saw Brian with a group of five other people behind him. Suddenly, Leo grabbed my wrist and took off running, or at least he tried to, with the cast on it was more like hobbling. We had only turned about two corners before I realized Brian and his group were gaining on us, so I scooped Leo up bridal style and took off running.

As I ran, I tried to think of somewhere to go, I didn't know of any good places to hide, and I don't know how to get to Millie and Oliver's house. Maybe if we got lost, they couldn't find us? But where would we get lost? They probably know this place like the back of their hand. Then I remembered what the old lady said, "The library likes to play tricks on people, it thinks it's quite funny." The library was the perfect place to get lost, we could hide there. "LUKE TURN LEFT!" Leo shouted pulling me out of my thoughts. I glanced to my right and saw a group of people with guns. I immediately turned left. I only made it a few feet before I was greeted with a gun to the face. "Set the blondie down," the lady sneered. Brian walked up behind the woman and grinned, "Great, you caught them." He stared at us for a few seconds before talking again, "I will say, you gave me quite the scare. I thought you were going to get away for a moment. But unfortunately for you, there's only two of you and a lot of us." "The only reason you caught us, is because you have guns," Leo scoffed. I took a deep breath; you have to be kidding me. He's arguing with the people who have guns!? "Luke set him down," Brian ordered. "But doctor you said I needed to stay off my bad leg," Leo mocked. Oh my gosh, he is going to get us both killed. "Leo," I hissed, "They have guns." "So?" he asked. "So, if you know what's good for you, you'll shut your mouth," Brian sneered. "You make it sound like I care what happens," Leo said. Brian took a deep breath, "I don't have time for this. Walk or I shoot your friend in the head." Leo rolled his eyes and slid out of my arms, "Fine, no need to get all angry." We began to follow Brian to wherever he was taking us but as we walked, I noticed Leo was having trouble keeping up. I noticed he was falling behind more during the hike yesterday, but the cast seemed to be making it worse. Apparently, the guy behind Leo noticed too because he nudged him with the butt of his gun.

Leo turned and glared at the man but tried to keep pace with me. A few minutes later and Leo had fallen behind again, this time the man slammed the gun into Leo's back causing him to fall over. Leo sat up with a rage-filled face, turned around, and to my surprise latched onto the man's leg with his teeth like a feral raccoon. The man screamed and dropped his gun before I knew what I was doing, I picked up the gun and aimed it at the man. Normally having a gun would be great but the problem is I don't know how to shoot a gun. Oh well, I'm sure I can figure it out. I heard the sound of a gun loading behind me. "Luke, I would put that down if I were you," Brian warned. I looked at the gun in my hands and then at everyone pointing their guns at me. Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna win this one. Sighing, I dropped the gun onto the ground and kicked it away from me. "If either of you pulls a stunt like that again I kill you," Brian said, "Now get up we're here." I helped Leo to his feet and turned to see where we were at. In front of us stood an old overgrown greenhouse with plants growing along the floor and walls. Brian brought us inside and lead us to a cage. Inside lay an unconscious Anna, Ella, and Jack, along with three adults huddled in a corner. Brian shoved us inside and slammed the door shut. "Enjoy, your new home," he smirked.
