Finally, an explanation! I wonder how Margret knew about them. "They used to be a World Keeper," Margaret said. So that's how she knew them. "What's a World Keeper?" Leo asked. "I was getting to that part," Margret said, "Your world isn't the only one. This Universe has hundreds of worlds scattered all around, some similar to yours while others are different. A World Keeper's job is to make sure the separate worlds function properly so that the worlds don't collide. If worlds collide with one another, it could cause mass destruction that might spread to the other worlds in this universe. When we catch wind that it might happen, it's our job to prevent it. Did you understand all of that?" I blinked a few times, that was a lot to process. After a few seconds, everyone nodded. "Good," Margret grinned, "A few centuries ago we discovered two worlds that were going to collide. We sent our best operative at the time Greer-" Margaret was interrupted by very loud coughing. Turning to see who it was, I saw Ella who looked like she was choking on her spit. "Are you okay?" I asked. Ella nodded, "I'm good but now I understand why they became a villain! Their parents must have hated them if they named them that!" Margaret glared at her, "This is not a joking matter! Greer is dangerous! Do not let their name fool you!" Ella fell silent and Margaret continued, "As I was saying Greer was our best operative at the time, they were sent out to stop the collision. But when Greer arrived, we realized it was too late. Even though the collision wasn't supposed to happen for another three months, in the day it took Greer to get there it had already happened. Greer was able to keep the collision from affecting other planets, but they were unable to save the inhabitants of planet #667."

"Greer stayed to investigate what happened and discovered that the inhabitants of the neighboring world #666 had created a machine allowing them to propel their dead world toward others. The inhabitants on planet #666 are the demons that have been hunting you," she explained, "They're quick, intelligent, and ruthless, but each has its weakness. For example, the ones chasing you are blind. Unfortunately, we don't know what kills them. Now the reason they created the device is that the planet they live on is dead. Everything on it had either been eaten or destroyed. The demons held fights to get food, and the winner ate the loser. But they were killing each other off too quickly, the demons were going extinct. This was perfect for us because they were a defective species created by Corruption, but it soon became our problem. Each species of demon chose a representative and the representatives banded together to come up with a solution which was the device. They created it so that they could take over other worlds and eat their food and inhabitance." I could feel my gut sink. Don't tell me that's what's going to happen to our world. "Sometime while Greer was investigating, the demons convinced them to turn. Greer revealed our weaknesses, and how to evade and kill us. Greer became their leader. They led the demons for quite some time until one day we caught them. The commanders sealed Greer and the demons into a special prison and erased all knowledge of them from the database. Greer and the demons have been there for the past hundred centuries. Unfortunately, as time passed, the world keepers forgot about them. It wasn't until they broke free that we remembered about them. Since all data of them has been erased and all the operatives who knew about them are dead, we don't know what they look like or who they might possess." Margaret finished.

Everyone was quiet. No one moved as we tried to prosses all of the information we had just been told. Leo was the one to break the silence. "You're telling me, you forgot about someone who led an army of demons and had to be locked away in a special prison!?" he shouted. Margret nodded, "Yes, I am." "How do you forget something like that!?" he cried. "As I said the commanders removed all traces of them," she replied, "I only know this information because it was shared with me before I started the mission." "How long has Greer been escaped for?" I asked. "We're unsure," Margret informed me, "We just discovered that they escaped about two weeks ago. I was sent to this location because the ritual that they need to perform requires trees and a blood moon." "Well, that's just perfect," Leo grumbled. "It's not ideal," I said, "But Greer hasn't found sacrifices for the ritual yet right?" "They have," Margret stated, "You are the sacrifices and since they've chosen you, that means they must have been here for a while. Greer is very picky; they wouldn't choose just anyone." "How long does it take for Greer to choose sacrifices?" I asked. "It depends, but it takes at least a week," she replied. "When we were in the cage Brian said one of us was the master," Anna whispered, "Does that mean Greer is with us right now?" Margret nodded, "Yes, but the problem is I don't know who, so that means you need to figure that out for yourselves." "I can think of a person who would betray us," Ella muttered. Leo glared at her but didn't say anything. "Isn't there some way to help identify them?" I asked, "You're gonna help us, right?" "Nope," Margret replied popping the 'p', "You're on your own, I'm not allowed to interfere until Greer's identity is revealed." "But you interfered when you saved us!" Jack protested, "And you just told us all this information! That has to count as interface!"

Margret shook her head, "Nope, I'm allowed to do whatever I need to keep you alive even if that means making you aware of your situation." "But you can't help us identify Greer," Leo stated. "Precisely," she replied. "That's dumb," Ella huffed. I sighed, Why couldn't we just have a nice vacation and enjoy some time to ourselves? Oh well, nothing we can do about it now. Guess we just have to get through it. But hey, our friendship will be way better since we're going through a near-death experience together! That or it will turn into shambles and we'll never want to talk to each other again. But I'm hoping for the first one because I don't think I'd be able to go through life without them. We've been friends for such a long time, life would just be miserable without my friends. That's why I can't let them die. I'd rather be dead than wake up and realize I won't ever be able to see Anna smile again, or Jack worry over the dumbest things or hear Ella make some sarcastic remark about something dumb. I shook myself out of my thoughts I didn't need to worry about that. Margaret looked over our small group and wrinkled her nose, "You guys smell like shit, I have a shower in here. Go take one and I'll find some clothes for you guys to change into. You can stay here for a day, or two but you can't stay forever," she remarked. "Well, we haven't showered in over a week," I pointed out. "True," Margret's hummed. She showed us to the bathroom and told us not to use all the hot water. Then said that the girls were going first, and the girls headed inside. When the girls finally finished their showers, Margaret came back with some clean clothes for all three of them to change into. Once they were finally done it was our turn when I walked in l noticed that the room looked very similar to a high-school locker room. After I had cleaned off, I grabbed some clothes and put them on.

I was tired but there was still one more thing I needed to do before I went to sleep. I need to ask Margret about my dream. I had forgotten about it till now but it couldn't hurt to ask. It might be nothing but if it is then I'm sure she has the answers. I exited the bathroom and began to wander the halls. Margret had disappeared somewhere, and I needed to find her. Strolling through the halls, I checked all the different rooms but after half an hour of searching, I still couldn't find her. This place was massive! Well, she did say the library liked to mess with people. Considering the fact Margret is magic I wouldn't be surprised if the library was alive. A living library is cool, but it doesn't change the fact it's annoying. It was impossible to find anything! I don't even know where I am! It's just shelves! Rows and rows of shelves! Eventually, I came to a small room in the very back of a narrow hallway. Unlike all the other rooms the door was closed, walking up to the door I knocked on it. There was grumbling from inside the room and soon Margaret swung open the door. "What do you want?" She asked. "I have a question," I told her. She rolled her eyes, "Of course you do. What is it? And make it quick I was getting ready to go to sleep." "Well, I had this dream recently and it felt really real," I told her, "I don't think it's anything, but I thought I would check. It was almost like I had interrupted a meeting." A look of concern flashed across her face, "What happened in the dream?" "I woke up in an apartment and these two people were talking it sounded like they were making a plan. They were all blurry and I couldn't see their faces, but one of them realized I was there so I ran away, and they chased after me. I locked myself in a room and they tried to get in. When one of them broke down the door with a black spike and attacked me I hit them on the head with a lamp and then I woke up," I informed her. Margaret's eyes widened, "Come in! Now! I'll explain everything. It's a good thing you came to me."

So, I was scrolling through names, and I saw Greer, at first, I thought it was a horrible name but now it's grown on me. For those of you who want to know it means 'watchful and vigilant'. Have a great day! Remember to eat! Bye! 🙃
